About this house rental
This lakefront home sits twenty feet from the lake with a lawn that actually juts out into the lake. It has a sandy beach facing this spring-fed lake and a shoremaster dock, tethered swim float and an extra boat mooring for fun on the water. Three kayaks are available for use complete with paddles and life preservers. A portable fire pit is provided for nightly campfires. The home has a rustic exterior look but inside it includes all the conveniences of home. There is a washer and dryer in the house. Two bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has a bunk arrangement with a twin over a full size bed, and the loft also has a queen bed. Most summer evenings the windows can be opened along with the sliding doors and you can fall asleep listening to the loons calling. However, if the night is cool you have a complete propane heat system along with a remote control gas fireplace insert and if the night is too warm we have two air conditioning units. Green Lake is ideally situated between Bangor and Ellsworth with only a 40 mile drive to Acadia National Park for sight-seeing and day hikes. You will love sunbathing on the front lawn feeling the breeze on the lake, swimming, fishing or boating in the cool clean water and eating your meals either on the open deck or the enclosed porch.

This was our 2nd time at the Dunning’s beautiful lake side home in Dedham Maine. It is perfect for our group of 8. Lots of room inside with 2 living rooms so you can separate from the kids if you spend any time inside! The fire pit outside was our favorite spot at the end of the day. Just being able to see the stars in the sky was remarkable and we all said that was our favorite part of the week. The beds were very comfortable. There was only one bathroom but we made it work. Scott, the owner was responsive and easy to reach. It was clean and neat and the kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you again for a wonderful family vacation.

This location on green lake is pristine and beautiful, much quieter than Ellsworth and very comfortable. The water was clear and warm even in September, great for swimming.

We have stayed here twice and loved it both times and look forward to future stays. Kids had a great time and the private dock is great for fishing and if you decide to rent a boat.

The Dunning's lake front cabin was perfect and super clean as well.....better than what the pictures showed. With 4 bedrooms and multiple family areas there was lots of room for all 8 of us (and our dog) to enjoy each other's company but still separate enough to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee. Swimming was as easy as walking out the door into the water. 3 kayaks were provided and used daily. The cabin had every amenity that we could think of to include air conditioning and even a trash compacter (pretty cool). The location was perfect as well, a well-stocked market about 8 miles away and the city of Bangor 20 miles away. All in all: A GOOD TIME!!

This was our 2nd visit to Dunn Inn! It now feels like our home away from home!

We had a lovely Fourth of July week in the lake house. Scott was very responsive and we felt very welcome. The lake is wonderful for swimming and kayaking. The only thing that could’ve been better was if there was a dining area where we all could’ve eaten together. But all in all I would highly recommend for a lake vacation.

I really enjoyed the house on Green Lake

I loved waking up to the view of the lake
Seeing the sun go down in the evening Using the outside fire pit both during the day and night

We had a great time at the Dunn Inn. The house was great with lots of room for all 8 of us and our dog. We loved kayaking and swimming in the lake. The water is so clean and refreshing. We loved hearing the loons and sitting out by the fire pit. We took day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor, which are pretty close. Thank you, Scott, for sharing your house, we had a wonderful time!

We had such a good time swimming, kayaking and relaxing in this beautiful spot. My wife and I felt like kids again and we got to enjoy some genuine quality time with our kids making memories on the lake. We are so happy with our decision to stay at the Dunn Inn.

We had a great time at Scott's Cabin. Plenty of space for the kids to spread out and have their own sleeping areas. My son loved the loft! The grassy area out front was great and we used it for a large family get together with lobsters and such. We rented a boat and it was easy to dock and took it fishing as well. The kids enjoyed the float and kayaks that were available. My wife enjoyed the bedroom with the AC. We plan to return next summer!

My family of all adults over 18 had a fantastic stay at Scott’s cabin. We had a full house and there was plenty of room for all of us. Even just one bathroom worked out fine. There was lots of open cabinets in the kitchen to store our weeks worth of food. And we prepared all our meals in the cabin. They had all we needed for pots and pans and utensils. The spot is like a slice of heaven. Very quiet and peaceful and the water was very refreshing. We also found plenty to do in the area when it rained and we would definitely come back. The place was neat and clean and even though it is still a campy feeling it met all our needs. Scott was very responsive to all questions and I would highly recommend it.

Our family vacation
This camp rental on Green Lake was absolutely perfect! Our family enjoyed everything and was able to fully relax and recharge. The only thing I would change is the mattress in the bedroom overlooking the lake (where my husband and I slept) was very hard. This is the only flaw to this perfect camp vacation!

Slice of Heaven
This property is all it is advertised. Beautiful lake, great spot and many amenities. The kitchen is very well equipped.
We had great weather, there was almost always a breeze each day and the lawn area is fabulous.
The layout of the house works well for a group, the enclosed porch and deck were perfect for our needs.
I would go back anytime!
Communication with Scott was easy and timely.

Cabin on a remote lake
This is an older cabin right on a lake. There are 3 downstairs bedrooms and 1 bathroom and a loft bed. The highlight is that the cabin is right above the lake with a screened in porch and kayaks you can borrow. The dishwasher, washer and dryer work well. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to the nearest town and almost 1 hour to reach Arcadia National Park/Bar Harbor. The internet is slow and can't handle more than 1 user at a time. There are stairs to get down to the lawn and to enter the water, so doable for someone with a walker but not handicap accessible. Quiet, peaceful, older cabin.

Peaceful camp
The Dunn Inn was just what my family needed! The dock, the views, the location and quaintness and everything in between was perfect! We spent every evening on the dock and enjoying kayaking. If you have a family who enjoy being outside and away from the rest of the world, this is the place for you!

Wonderful birthday vacation
We had a wonderful time at this lakeside cabin. My cat Minnie was able to come and enjoyed looking out the window at the wildlife. While borrowing the kayaks (that are kept just a few feet away from the water) we even saw nesting Loons. The cabin has some skylights that sound wonderful in the rain. The gas fireplace also gave a very cozy feeling. It was a wonderful stay!

Green Lake Family Retreat
The Dunn Inn on Green Lake is an excellent location for swimming, kayaking, fishing, canoeing, tubing and simply enjoying the beauty of Green Lake. The dock is both adequate for mooring boats as well as diving into the water to swim. There is a nearby floating dock that also adds to the fun. Inside the camp, there is adequate space for at least four groups of people to have their own room. The loft upstairs should be used for the smallest guests as it is cozy and a little tight. The loons are nearby all the time and offer beautiful singing at night. The sunsets are spectacular. Green Lake is big and diverse enough that there are several marshy areas that are perfect for exploring the local aquatic wildlife and fauna. If there is something you need boating-wise, Mr Jenkins and Jenkins Beach is very helpful and friendly. We rented additional boats from him. Also, fresh lobsters are 15 min away in Ellsworth, along with groceries and Dunkin. Acadia is a 1/2 hour - hour drive from the location as well. Check your traffic before you go and leave early in the day. At the camp, the hot water and gas worked fine for all appliances. We ate every meal on the porch or on picnic tables right next to the water. There is only one bathroom so there is some coordination needed for large groups on showers. We found the owner Scott to be very accessible and helpful if we had any questions. We have more we would like to do at Green Lake and are considering going back again.

Great Location
An amazing location, warm, inviting, and family friendly. We had a wonderful time, got to go kayaking saw my first loons with their babies, a bald eagle, and just loved the area in general. The lake is amazing, nice sandy bottom, no lake smell, stunning sunsets, and stars like I haven't seen since I was a child, bringing my telescope next time. The proximity to Acadia and Bar Harbor is fabulous, my only real complaint is one week is not enough to see all the amazing things.

Nice House in a Great Location
This is a spacious, well-maintained lakeside home. We found everything to be just as described in the vrbo listing, or better. The owners are thoughtful and welcoming, making it clear through an abundance of small touches that they want renters to enjoy the property. The location is excellent, on a residential lake with private water access (and four kayaks -- three singles and a tandem). The house is clean and comfortable, with a lot of comfortable furniture, and includes all essential household supplies (dishes, cups, glasses, flatware, paper towels, etc.) and all major appliances -- refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, garbage compactor, oven/stovetop, microwave, toaster, Keurig, etc. At night, one hears various insects, frogs, and loons. Highly recommended.

Great find!
We came across this listing looking for a place near Acadia National Park. It was perfect for us! The kids loved jumping in the lake. We enjoyed sitting by the lake watching them. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. Neighbors are friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again!!
