The room was very specious and fit our family needs overall. Breakfast was very basic, and the distance from Acadia park was too long to travel back and forth every day. It was something we didn’t account for initially.

We had a delightful experience and was a nice fall vacation for u- room is very Inn-esque. Food was amazing! Nice staff, very helpful & friendly

No major issues but disappointing. Property on highway and no lake view from room, which we thought we had booked. 60s feel to decor and furnishings. Did not feel particularly welcomed.

Clean and beautiful. Such a gorgeous spot convenient to Bangor and Mount Desert Island. I definitely recommend!

Nice vintage room, bed could have been firmer. Bar area was nice and food was very good

High on nostalgic charm and beautiful surroundings. But that’s it. Hotel suffers from a need of maintenance and updates. No elevator made for a difficult climb up 2 flights with heavy luggage and no offer of assistance. Room had no fridge, no microwave. Very limited TV and WiFi was so bad we had to use cellular for any online activity. Continental breakfast consisted of a few pieces of fruit and a couple of cereal choices. Had to lift up on room door to get it to lock. Furnishings were old and run down. Extremely disappointed all the way around. A shadow of its former glory.

Being an older inn; I feel they have done what they can with updates and modernization while keeping the charm of the place.
The grounds are beautiful and make a wonderful spot for weddings!!
The room is average with NO mini fridge!! We haven't stayed anywhere that didn't have one in quite some time.
Unfortunately the bathroom could be modified a little better and the shower curtain had the remains of previous guests all over it!!
Though we ate at the pub and it was good; the aromas coming from the main dining room smelled divine!! So much so that we will be back for supper.

Beautiful property. Large two double bed room with separate sitting area and desk. Very clean, beautifully appointed. Large bathroom with good shower, whirlpool bathtub and heated towel rack. Quiet at night. Attached restaurant with complimentary continental breakfast- cereal, fruit, breakfast sandwiches, sweet bread, hot coffee and juice. Very friendly and welcoming front desk who explained the 200 year old history of the inn overlooking a beautiful part of Maine. Hope to stay there again!

This was a lovely hotel, looked like it was used for wedding, rooms had older antique style furnishings, we loved it.

The Lucerne Inn is an absolutely adorable place to stay. The restaurant has great food. The grounds themselves are beautiful and it’s in a very peaceful location. The building and accommodations themselves are dated, but well maintained. Absolutely recommend.

Our room was spacious and quiet at the end of the building affording privacy which was nice. However, the shower had very poor water pressure and the water temperature was only lukewarm. The Continental breakfast is extremely basic without even hot oatmeal and the coffee was bitter having sat on the warmer for a couple hours. Would not recommend as a breakfast choice. Overall, very disappointed in the experience for a 4 star hotel.

This hotel has an excellent staff, they try very hard to get people in a room they are happy with. They sent e-mails in advance of my arrival offering me a chance to communicate my wishes for my stay. If I go to Bangor again, I hope to stay in this hotel.

Beautiful property. Breakfast was not great (too many carbs and not enough protein options). However, a great place to stay and I would stay there again if I am ever in the area. Staff were attentive and very nice.

Absolutely stunning view! We loved this Inn. Very clean, nostalgic as there are many antiques displayed throughout the Inn, spacey, quiet, & a very friendly staff!

The room was disappointing for what we paid a night. It was quite pricey for the accommodations. We’ve had much nicer rooms for less. Our room was downstairs from the lobby and the windows faced directly into their event room-not the outside. The bathroom had a slanted floor going into it. The hallway had 2 rollaway beds sitting there right outside our door. We had to leave a day early and could not get any reimbursement because we booked through Expedia:Hotels.com. I will not be using these sites again.

Beautiful property with great dining and convenience for our travel route. The bed was comfortable, shower was great, staff was friendly and helpful. We recommend staying here.

Beautiful views! Staff was friendly and efficient.

Breakfast was not good.

We were given a room on the basement level on a back hallway. We had to empty a dehumidifier twice that was in the room and the desk chair was ripped and dirty. Our view was of tables with chairs stacked and an event tent blocked any view. The shower was old and shower curtain rod was rusty and caked with lime. The cabinet door was falling off. The dining room above was noisy until 10pm. Steep stairs to traverse to room.

Located in a very picturesque setting, older antique historic structure backdropped over a scenic hill. They run a busy restaurant in the inn and that’s probably their bread and butter. Staff is really occupied with that end, while The hotel is just kind of on the side.
We were given a basement room and to get to that you literally have to walk thru the busy restaurant with the patrons gauking at you carrying your stuff which was very ackward. We were a couple with 3 kids and I had clearly registered them in while signing up, was supposed to get bedding for 5, but upon arrival they said they charge xtra nightly for the rollaway beds! They said they have no communication with hotels.com, and would not accommodate me at all, while the xtra beds were locked up right outside our room with a bike lock.

The room was very clean. The staff were somewhat accommodating. The food in the bar was much better than the dining room. I ordered a salad and the lettuce was rotten and the salad dressing tasted rancid. The lobster roll was not good. Very disappointed.

Older property with large room. WiFi was terrible. Small bed for a queen.

Nice property wish amenities would have been of better quality, love the view but property on a bit noisy highway.

This hotel needs some serious upgrades with no elevators, a pool that needs to be cleaned, and carpets that need to be replaced. It was a gem in its heyday but has fallen into disrepair. We were under a boil water order during our stay.
4.0
They had "flushed" water pipes but put in too much chlorine. Not usable for brushing teeth. Our room view was INSIDE a wedding tent! The carpet in the hall was all wet, probably from the pipes in the utility room right outside our door.

Dated low style toilet

The only issue was the one bed in the room was a bit small for two people, other then that everything was fine

The hotel is really cool and has an interesting history. The property is beautiful to walk around. The owners are personable and friendly. If we come back this way, we would stay again. It would be really beautiful for a wedding though.

Older Inn enjoyed our stay but there were dirty towels left in our room at check in and the pool was locked and trash left out around it.

We had a very nice stay at the Lucerne Inn.
We slept well because the beds were comfortable and it was quiet. Dinner was excellent and the staff was accommodating and genial.
Considering the amazing location of the inn, my only disappointment was due to the fact that our window looked out into an enclosed wedding venue.
I will look forward to staying there again.

Quaint and lovely. It took us back in time. The best beginning stop to welcome yourself in Maine.
