We all enjoyed the beautiful home with all the sitting rooms and excellently furnished. Close to both downtown Hancock and Houghton - we walked to local restaurants and had a splendid time in the house. The extra parking lot is not really a usable option, but there was ample parking on street and in the driveway for our 5 vehicles.

Historic Old Victorian with all the comforts of home and more. Close to all of the outdoor activities (snow shoe trails, skiing, snowmobiling) that we were interested in doing, and a short drive or walk from shops and reataurants. Welcoming note and treats from the host, great communication, everything above and beyond. 2nd visit here, we'll be back!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this enchanting VRBO property with seven of my friends, and I must say, it truly felt like stepping into a fairytale! From the moment we walked through the front door, we were captivated by the museum-quality design, the exquisite antique furniture, and the impressive art pieces that adorned every corner of the house. Yet, this fairytale home was not just a display piece; it seamlessly blended modern amenities with its classic charm to ensure our utmost comfort.
The heart of any home is its kitchen, and this one was a culinary dream come true. It boasted top-notch appliances, a wide array of dishes, pots, and pans, and a generous selection of spices that made cooking a delight. The kitchen quickly became the heart of our stay, allowing us to whip up delicious meals and create lasting memories.
What truly sets this property apart is its versatility. With ample gathering spaces and cozy corners, "Old Vic" accommodated every mood and preference. Whether we wanted to come together for lively conversations or enjoy some quiet alone time, the house had us covered. The front porch was a personal favorite, offering a cozy spot to savor morning coffee while watching the sunrise or to unwind with a cocktail as we soaked in breathtaking sunsets.
The third-floor honeymoon room was a true gem. The panoramic view was simply stunning, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the quality of the linens made us feel pampered. It was the perfect escape w

We had a group of friends caravan up to the Houghton Keweenaw area for the fall colors and great local offerings. I selected The Old Vic with the location, view, space & layout, and amenities for our group. All of the above expectations were met and in the property amenities exceeded. Mary, the property host, is beyond intuitive in her offerings at the property. Our plans for the stay were extensive, but we looked forward to the time we returned to The Old Vic to regroup and recharge. All the charm with so much of the original architectural finishes of the home coupled with the modern amenities and homey touches making it the best of all the offerings. We are glad we looked and booked early for the opportunity to experience this gem. Thank you, Mary, for creating the exceptional stay experience.

Our group of 8 celebrated our 70th birthdays together at this incredible historical home that seemed to wrap its arms around us from the moment we arrived! The amenities abound. The owner's talent for decorating was immediately noticed. Her desire to provide comfort was evident during our entire stay. This was the perfect location to tour Copper Country from. Fun was had and fond memories were made, thank you Mary!

This property was a perfect fit for our family of 10 which included an infant. The house was beautiful, well equiped, spotless and truthfully the best VRBO experience we have had. We hope we can stay here again. It was so nice to all be in one house, yet still some private space.

Olde Vic has all the old world charm one could want situated in a roomy interior complimented by modern updates which make it a gem for a family of 10. The cozy front porch overlooking the river is a special favorite of our family. We hope to return in the future to make more memories! Thanks to Mary and Jan!

Mary was wonderful-answered all questions promptly and even allowed my relative to tour Olde Vic prior to our visit. Olde Vic is GORGEOUS-beautifully decorated with holiday touches, but it truly had anything and everything you could ever want or need. There were even extras like cookies & fruit & coffee! Everyone had space to do anything they needed-even check in with work. Centrally located with beautiful views, and since we were there just after a blizzard, I can say with confidence that snow was moved enough to let my plain old minivan get around. Mary even left us with stuff to sprinkle down in case of ice. Super relaxing with plenty of room to gather friends or family in an unforgettable setting, we will be coming back to Olde Vic, and thanks again Mary!

I booked this property for a UP trip with my parents and kids. The house is stunning! (And the hosts have thought of everything.) Despite all of the activities we did while in the area, I think this house is still my mom’s favorite part of the trip. It’s huge but always feels cozy and interesting. We will definitely be back.

I stayed there with friends and family for a long weekend while we attended an alumni event. The pictures don’t do justice to how nice the house is. The house is very clean, spacious, and well decorated. It is a block off of downtown Hancock and an easy walk to Houghton. It had all of the accessories you would need for a long stay. We are already planning our next stay here.

Our family loved Old Vic!
We had a wonderful time at Old Vic. We were together for a family wedding and Old Vic allowed us to be together in one location for meals and games. The house is spacious and allowed the baby to nap in peace while everyone else chatted away. The host is amazing and provided all we needed. She was easy to communicate with and checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable. I highly recommend a stay here and look forward to when we can book again!

Exceeded all expectations!
I cannot say enough about this home. We fell in love the moment we walked through the door. Our family of 8 stayed here to celebrate Easter and Olde Vic did not disappoint. The home is very cozy and well stocked with anything you may need. We loved and appreciated all the personal touches. The home is walking distance to a park (made our first ever snowman at Easter) and downtown Hancock. We will definitely be back!

Our stay at the Old Vic
This is the best VRBO I've stayed at and I usually stay, at one or two a year. Everything was wonderful. The beds are very comfortable, the towels and linens are the best quality, the kitchen is fabulous and has every implement necessary. We had a great time. We would definitely come back. And we will recommend the Old Vic to friends and family. In fact, my cousins who live in Hancock and visited us during our stay at the old Vic were thinking of people they know who could use it for family visits. Its a truly wonderful place and we had the best experience.

This house is beautiful, comfortable and has many well appointed amenities! We lacked for nothing during our stay. Each room has been thoughtfully put together with the guest in mind. Mary was the best hostess! We booked this location for a family wedding in the area. My husband, one daughter and husband, one daughter and infant, grandma and grandpa of the bride, auntie and uncle of the bride and several cousins. We used every bedroom and the pull out sofa. Everyone slept very well and all of us had HOT showers! The home has every amenity you could want for a stay away from home. We cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner. We found spices, oil, and every cooking utensil needed, which was nice not to have purchase these items to use only a small amount. We definitely recommend this house for small or large groups.

A Weekend at Olde Vic
"Olde Vic" is an amazing well maintained old Victorian house on the hillside in Hancock, overlooking the Portage Canal and the Houghton waterfront to the South. Four classmates from the 1960's era at Michigan Tech, and wives, shared this house for three days while attending a 100-year fraternity reunion at Tech. The many rooms and furnishings reflect the history of the Copper Country, the U.P. and the Great Plains and along with the modern kitchen and bathrooms make this a great place to stay. Neat....Awesome....Cool...."Olde Vic".

We were so so happy with our stay in this beautifully restored old Victorian home. Not only will you have most everything you need to have an incredible stay, but also get to appreciate an experience of what once was. I booked this property for a family vacation back to the UP after being away for far too long. Mary contacted us the day before to make sure we were all set for our stay and reminded us of the access code and instructions to get in. When we arrived, we were greeted by a personalized welcome sign, fresh flowers, sugar cookies, and several goodies in the fridge! So kind and welcoming, Thank you! Plenty of space to spread out; the house is huge!! My personal favorite was enjoying our coffee and Trenary toast on the front porch every morning. The birds chirping, boats a root-tooting, and the views of the Portage Canal make you never want to leave! Mary was such a kind and gracious host; we’d highly recommend this home for a trip to the UP. A must stay for history buffs and those who appreciate old world architectural charm. Thank you so so much for sharing this beautiful gem with us!
