We had an amazing stay at this beautiful, cozy cottage. The cottage is very private, and very peaceful. Best part for us was the campfire located so close to the water, and the beautiful dock. Loons, geese, and ducks were all very active and vocal. The close proximity to Bancroft was also very convenient. The owners are very responsive and easy going.

A very nice, quiet and peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Very clean!, private location. Amazing sunrises. Close to Bancroft. Close to atv trails. Caught fish right from the amazing dock. Owner is very responsive & helpful.

This was our second time coming back to the cottage and again, the 3 of us had a wonderful time. Every morning enjoying the sights and sounds of the loon family. My Dad caught bass and pike every day from the dock, he was thrilled! I really enjoyed the kayak and paddle board. Then in the evenings we sat on the lower deck and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the beautiful lake.

The accommodation and location were wonderful - close enough to shopping/restaurants (10-15 minutes drive), but far enough that you could enjoy some peace and quiet by the lake.
We stayed the first week of October which was perfect to watch all the leaves changing colour (and we were lucky to have some 20+ degrees days as well!).
Kayla was very informative and responsive to any questions I had and check-in / out was a breeze!
We highly recommend driving around nearby Baptiste Lake as the views are absolutely stunning!
Would happily book again!

We loved this cottage. It has the old-fashioned charm of the cottages we grew up with, with all the modern comforts we appreciate now. Beautiful picture window looking out on the lake. We even had a visit from three loons!

We had an awesome time, theres really not any more you could ask for when it comes to a cottage up north - beautiful lake/dock, good fishing, fire pit/stove, bbq/oven etc.. we went up to algonquin one day for a few nice hikes as well as the eagles nest trails. Spent the days swimming, fishing and kayaking and then took advantage of the awesome wood stove for some movie nights. Town is very close so it was a breeze for grocerys/restaurants, we ended up over packing for sure. Thank you Kayla for a great getaway!

Our stay was wonderful. The cottage is beautiful and nicely renovated. The driveway/yard is fenced off which was nice as we have a dog who likes to explore so we weren't worried that she would take off. The images in the listing do not show this fence so we were more than pleasantly surprised to see it when we got there. There were water toys as advertised and lots of fire wood, kitchen was fully stocked, AC in the cottage, comfy beds, nice big tv with loads of movies and board games for nights spent inside. The only downside we had was the washing machine didn't work with the septic system so we were unable to clean our laundry/towels over the week (unless we went to a laundromat in town). It wasnt the end of the world because we had a really great time overall! I would highly recommend staying here + I would definitely come back in the future!

Our stay at Sally’s cottage was excellent! Very clean, comfortable and cozy. Waking up to that view, being so close to the water, reading & bbq’ing on the deck, fishing from the dock, just so relaxing. We had everything that we needed for a week of peace and quiet. Kayla was an excellent hostess, kind and quick to respond. We look forward to returning to Sally’s in the future.

Wonderful week at this true cottage! The hosts were fantastic and so generous with all the extra unexpected amenities. Pet friendly made it a true vacation as we could have our dog with us. No surprise visits all week, just privacy and relaxation. We will definitely choose this destination again! Highly recommend!!

kayla’s cottage is absolutely gorgeous! the home is incredibly clean and tastefully decorated, the bedrooms have breathtaking views, and the property is on a very quiet and serene lake. this is the perfect getaway and the house was in great condition for us when we arrived, kayla’s instructions about how to navigate and work everything was very in-depth and easy to follow. i loved being able to go out onto the lake with the pedal boat and we never got tired of looking out at the beautiful lake! will absolutely be back next year :)

The cottage is sweet and fresh, bright, well designed and well supplied. . The views are lovely- quiet little bay and the cottage is right on the water. BUT… this is a LAND LOCKED bay. It is NOT connected to Baptiste Lake and that was a let down. Luckily I had packed my kayak cart because you have to portage over a moderately busy road to get to Baptiste Lake. Swimming was ok from the dock but water is shallow and it’s a mucky bottom. We had some problems with shower not shutting off but Kayla was very prompt and apologetic. She dealt with it immediately even though it was a statutory holiday. I was impressed.

Our stay was amazing! Kayla was amazing to deal with and was very quick to respond to all my messages. The cottage is much nicer than the pics. Upon arrival we were greeted with a thank you note and a bottle of wine(so nice and appreciated.).
Pros:
1.It was very well stocked with everything you may needed including a washer and dryer. I appreciated that it was also supplied with quality items and not dollar store type items. It made me feel valued and appreciated.
2. The view was incredible. There was almost no traffic on the lake so it was very peaceful.
3. Love the daily Loon visits and those Loon calls are incredible. We also saw Eagles and turtles which was so cool.
4.The beds were super comfortable and we appreciated having the fan in the bedroom.
5. Eagle's Nest Lookout was near by and is a must hiking spot with breathtaking views.(there are very easy to difficult trails so don't be concerned to give them a try).
6. The view from all windows facing the water is unbelievable. You get to sit at the dining room table and look out at the water that is so close you can almost touch it. It's so nice and peaceful!
7. Please do visit the thrift stores in Bancroft as well as Stedman's. These are must shop stores. While you are there don't forget to get ice cream at the Kawartha's Dairy Bar.
8. I have to put a pro for dealing with Kayla as she was so kind and efficient to deal with. She made our stay very easy to manage. I sent her several messages and she was very quick to reply. She even sent a message checking in and asking if everything was ok. She was amazing to deal with!
Cons:
1. The road is close by so you do hear road traffic.
2. The lake is natural which is great for the environment and the water life that you will see like turtles and Loons so don't expect a pristine lake for swimming.
Conclusion:
This is a must stay cottage. If looking for a relaxing stay with amazing views this is the cottage for you! Thank you Kayla for an amazing stay!!

Great experience
The cottage was in a great location by the lake and it was very well maintained. Our host, Kayla, was very responsive with an issue we had, and handled it very well. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d love to go back.

Dreamy Fall getaway
This cottage is prettier then the pictures. It has everything you need or may have forgotten. A gorgeous wood stove for crackle fires in a chilly night, to an amazing deck for sunny days overlooking the lake. Perfect for stargazing too!
We are sad to leave.
The owners are so accommodating.
A gem hidden in the highlands.
Thank you Kayla.

Nice location - excellent dock
Just 10 minutes to Bancroft so very convenient for golf courses and hiking at Eagles Nest. Nice swimming holes off the dock and room for 5 lounging chairs on the dock. Sunny location. Beautiful views of the lake from the cottage for morning coffees or afternoon beverages. Enjoyed our stay.

Amazing Stay
The cottage was so clean and decorated to give you a nautical feel. They had everything you needed so we definitely overpacked! The view from practically every window was breathtaking. Can't get any closer to the water. Would definitely recommend to everyone. Whenever I had questions, I got a response back instantly. We all had a great time!

Nice spot, but....
Pros: lovely view, cute cottage, very generously and thoughtfully stocked kitchen, fun paddle boat and water toys, host responds promptly.
Cons: Close to a main road, so no escaping traffic noise. The AC in the living room doesn't cool the bedrooms. The requirement that guests clean and take the garbage with them is inconvenient. Guests pay a cleaning fee, so should not be required to do anything other than collecting their garbage in bags and putting things away. The biggest annoyance for us was the shower. The shower broke on the last day and water went all over the bathroom floor. So, not only were we unable to shower after that, the water on the floor dredged up clumps of hair and muck (not ours) from underneath the sink and other hidden parts of the bathroom. This means that the bathroom (and perhaps the house) is only superficially cleaned. Spent our last evening mopping up the mess and not being able to shower after. The host and I texted back and forth about it. And while she acknowledged that it sounded messy, there was no apology about the shower and the effect on our vacation. Just said that this is the first time it's happened! So our vacation ended on a sour note.

Girls Getaway
This property has the most amazing views and perfect location as it is close to amenities that are less then 10 minutes away. Also a beautiful hiking trail at Eagle's Nest. It was fantastic that there was some condiments, coffee and spices to assist with making meals. The paddleboat is a great feature and the fact that they have wood ready for the firepit is amazing!! We also ran into a plumbing issue and the host was very responsive and dealt with it right away and was very communicative through out the process. My only suggestions would be to have more toliet paper and paper towels for use as we ran out. Also having fans in the bedrooms would be great as it is hard to pack fans when you already have a car full of stuff to bring and the A/C unit is only in the living room and does not fully reach the bedrooms. Also having to take and deal with the garbage and recycling before you leave is a bit of a pain as the dump was closed before we left and again the car was full and no room to take it with us. The host graciously took care of it when we addressed this concern, but maybe the cleaner can take care of this rather then the patrons. Also a dishwasher would be nice as on vacation the last thing you want to do is deal with loads of dishes, but understand not all properties have this. Other then that we loved our stay and I would go back again. These are just suggestions but would never take away what a great time and getaway we had and how great the host was through out the whole process.

Surprisingly Quiet Getaway with Amazing Views
You would expect a cottage close to the road would be noisy, but it really isn't. This is helped by the fact that Redmond Bay is cut off from the rest of Baptiste Lake by a causeway. There's much less road or boat traffic as a result.
The view from the cottage is simply breathtaking. You could not be closer to the water!
As for the cottage itself, it is ideal for a couple or a small family. The rooms are all comfortable and very airy. Lots of windows and good screens to keep cross-breezes coming in and mosquitoes out. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need for cottage cooking. If you're shooting for three Michelin stars, you might want to bring some of your own equipment, but otherwise you should be more than fine. Basics like salt, pepper, oils, coffee, condiments, and salad dressings are all included, which saves you from having to buy stuff you already have from home.
The living room is very comfy with a great selection of movies to watch once the sun goes down. The internet service is limited, so streaming is out, there are more than enough good titles in the library to see you through your stay. And it's actually nice that you can't go online willy-nilly. Isn't that what a vacation is for?
Outdoors, there's a great firepit with ample wood. Lots of seating options on the deck and by the dock. And a cute pedal boat you can use to explore the bay!
And it's all very conveniently located, with Bancroft just a short drive away. (Taking Y Road will make the drive even shorter!) Convenient and accessible and yet it feels tucked away and private. A great combination!

Comfy cottage
We had a great stay at this cottage near Bancroft. Kayla, the owner, always communicated quickly with us. The cottage was super clean upon arrival. The beds are comfortable. The living room is cosy and perfect to weather out rainy afternoons. Lots of board games and movies to choose from when stuck inside. The kitchen has everything you need and the BBQ is super easy to get started! The best part is the large dock, steps away from the cottage. Deck chairs, noodles, life jackets and paddle boat are all in great condition. The sun faces the cottage all day, making this a superb location to hang out and relax! What a treat to be able to bring our dog with us-he had a blast! Thanks so much!

We enjoyed staying there. BEAUTIFUL view. The best view i have ever seen. Best place to relax and enjoy the weather. We took the pedal boat and went for a ride and it was amazing. The place was so clean, you can find everything you need in the kitchen. Kayla was amazing at responding to our texts and questions.
I will recommend this place to everyone.

Excellent lakeside getaway
The location of this property is phenomenal. The photos don’t do it justice. Having breakfast or dinner on the porch of the second floor outside, looking out over Redmond Bay and seeing the grandest and beauty of it all was just what we needed.
The lake is really clean to swim in, tanning on the docks was awesome and oh my gosh the paddle boat was so much fun (we spent hours fishing in it)!
The cottage itself is so cute!! Kayla was gracious and had the pantries stocked with condiments, utensils and even a complimentary bit of bubbley to start off our vacation right.
Really great stay all around. Kayla was super communicative and always easy to talk to and get in touch with. If there is one minor thing I would say maybe bring a small fan with you. We went on an especially hot few days and it got humid at night even with the windows open. Luckily we had a fan with us so that helped! Honestly it’s such a minor thing, but that’s how amazing the stay was.
If you book with Kayla to stay here you won’t regret it. Bring some bug spray, tanning lotion, some summer clothes (if you’re going in the summer), good food to eat and you’re set for an AMAZING time.
We might come back in the fall just to see how the view changes as the seasons change too!
