Welcome to Fox Ridge, a four season vacation rental in Margaretville, NY. Located on top of the mountain at 2100 feet overlooking the valley with spectacular views of the pond and the Catskill Forest Preserve on 9 very private acres. Only 2½ hours from New York City, Fox Ridge is an inviting escape for you, your family, and friends.
Come and enjoy our spacious, beautifully furnished contemporary home. Take in the sweeping views of the mountains and large swimming pond from the newly expanded deck or from inside the glass enclosed great room with soaring ceiling and stone fireplace. Enjoy the warmth of a roaring fire on a snowy winter night or on a cool summer evening. Come in the fall and take in the brilliant color display across the valley or rejuvenate in the spring with new life around you.
Eat in, cook on the grill, or try one of the many excellent area restaurants. Spend an evening at home playing pool or watching a movie on one of the flat screen TVs. Relax in the hot tub under the stars or roast marshmallows on the fire pit. Swim or kayak in the pond, dive in from the dock or go hiking on one of the easily accessible trails. Finish up the day in our new outdoor shower.
Try your hand at flyfishing on a clean mountain stream or golf at one of the nearby courses. Belleayre Mountain offers excellent skiing for the entire family in the winter and outdoor concerts in the summer. All of these activities and more are within minutes of the house.
The 3 level house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The bedrooms are furnished with extra comfy beds and fine linens. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and one with twins, comfortably accommodating 6 people. In the lower level there is an extra large sectional sofa big enough to sleep 2 children. My family spent two August weeks staying at Neil's property. Just days beforehand, a huge storm hit the area, causing some disruption. Neil proactively communicated with me while everything got fixed.
The house is very nice but the pond and surrounding area are the reasons to stay here. The property's pond is beautiful, serene, and wonderful to swim in. Every night we watched the fog roll into the valley below and every morning we watched it burn off. We hiked, swam, and kayaked and ate at many great restaurants.

We just spent 6 nights at this beautiful Catskills property. The views were magnificent and we loved hanging out on the deck just listening to the crickets, frogs and birds and to see the occasional deer pass by.
We spent time everyday on the pond in the provided kayaks which was such a treat and one of our favorite things to do.
The property is so private and peaceful- it was exactly what we wanted. The house itself was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. We loved playing pool with our kids and loved a dip in the hot tub.

This is the third time we’ve stayed here and each time it’s been just fantastic.The house is located in an oasis of peace.All you can hear is sound of birds and frogs.There is also private pond where we and our dog can cool off.Our dog loves this place.he can run around property,play,swim.

We had a terrific three night stay. We enjoyed the fully-stocked kitchen, large deck, grill, gorgeous field, and secluded location. We swam in the pond and soaked in the hot tub and enjoyed the pool table. Owner communicated in advance about furniture being removed due to a flood in the basement, which meant we couldn't enjoy the basement lounge area, but we were still able to use the pool table which was important for my tween son! The pond was wonderful for swimming & sunning and our dog was in heaven, running free through the field, swimming with us, and sunning on the dock. Beds were comfortable and everything clean & convenient! Nice bathroom towels, and plenty of outdoor towels provided, too. We couldn't get outdoor shower working correctly but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of the property much at all. Gorgeous view of the mountain range from the deck.

Stayed with my wife and dog for 8 nights. The property with the pond is amazing. Our dog never had so much fun. The deck, hot tub, and grill were all top notch. So were the beds. Very comfortable. Had a blast. Don't hesitate to book.

We had a great stay. We enjoyed the hot tub & fire pit. Pearl, my daughter's English Cocker Spaniel, loved swimming in the pond. Having the locking gates on the deck were great & the dog loved going in & out of the house/ deck without a leash.
Margaretville itself was very small, but we had several meals at fabulous restaurants there.
We did a day trip to Woodstock. I would recommend that to others considering the property. It's about a 45 minute drive from Margaretville.

This is a beautiful home that is spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything you need for a Catskills getaway. Proximity to Margaretville/Arkville/Andes makes it a vacation destination to be sure. The view and surroundings are breathtaking from day to night. Hot tub and pool table are the perfect amenities. The view from the porch should be a picture on your wall. Being able to see it in person, with the sounds of nature around you, was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway. The house was nice, clean and comfortable, though we spent most of our times outdoors.

House was very nice, just like the photos. Our whole family loved jumping in the pond and swimming! The hot tub worked perfectly and was enjoyed by all! Margretville was a small version of Woodstock with gift shops, art,thrift store and places to eat. House was a little far from popular hikes and attractions, about an hour drive. Other than that it was a perfect vacation.

The house and property were even more beautiful than the pictures! Everything inside was clean and well cared for. The furnishings were tasteful and the kitchen very well stocked, not only with pots and pans, but pretty much any spices you might need. Even the sheets on the beds were high quality!
The property was also amazing! The view of the mountains was spectacular and the pond! The pond was perfect! My husband and I spent hours out by the pond everyday with our dog who loves to swim. Sometimes a pond can be a little stagnant. Not this pond! It was so clean with lots of visible fish and frogs and no lily pads or undergrowth. In other words, a perfect pond.
Overall, it was a dream Catskill Mountain vacation:)

I rented the house for a mini getaway for my husband’s 40th birthday. We had friends and kids with us and everyone LOVED the views and the quiet getaway. The kids loved making s’mores by the fire pit, and finding frogs by the pond. We also really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The house was comfortable and had everything that we needed. We have stayed here a few times during the winter to ski at Belleayre. It's an easy drive to the mountain. The house is cozy, and the beds are warm and wonderful. I always sleep well here. The host and I communicated easily and quickly. Love the pool table in the lower floor, too!

This home is very special. The house is located right on a lake that overlooks the Catskill Mountains. The inside of the house was clean, cozy, and well stocked with essentials in the kitchen. It simply doesn’t get better - serene location, view, beautiful house with plenty to do and/or relax in. Our dogs were in absolute heaven; we feel so very fortunate that they were welcomed to join us in such a pristine, well-kept home. They ran in the field, swam in the pond, while we made s’mores in the fire pit, played pool & other games, and relaxed on the perfect deck. This house is just a dream!

The views from this home are heavenly! They can be enjoyed from most every room, but especially from the huge deck that has plenty of seating, along with a table for six. It was very nice to be able to barbecue and eat outside while enjoying the gorgeous views. The stargazing was wonderful, and in the mornings, the mist in the valley below made for some very pretty pictures.
The private pond was bigger than it looked from the pictures, and we enjoyed kayaking and swimming from the dock. It was also nice to be able to bring our dogs who also enjoyed the pond.
The rooms in the house looked just as the pictures do, and the kitchen was very well stocked. The owners provide beach towels as well as oversized bath towels in the bathrooms. It was also very nice to have so many of the basic supplies such as paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, etc., already in the house. The pool table was great to have, and they also have many board games and puzzles available for use.
The house is in a very private location, but only a few minutes from Margaretville. Margaretville is a very nice little town with shops and places to eat. We also enjoyed the Rail Explorers ride in Phonecia - lots of fun, but be sure to make advanced reservations.

My friends and I totally enjoyed our visit in Margaretville. What an amazing home nestled in the wilderness. We enjoyed the vast deck for bbqing & cocktails relaxing in the hot tub. Most of all I enjoyed the outdoor shower stall..Nature all around you. There's so much to do in this quaint tri-level home. Such an awesome landscape of lush greenery & a mountain horizon. We swam in the pond & I biked all around town. Our hosts have a lovely sanctuary & I truly had a great time as my friends did as well. The beds are comfy cozy... home is tidy... We had a great stay with our preschooler and baby. The views from the deck were stunning and our preschooler loved swimming in the pond. The house was very well equipped and comfortable and we were surprised there were virtually no mosquitoes. Great proximity to grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants. My family of six just returned from a wonderful long weekend at Fox Ridge. The home and grounds are exactly as listed and probably exceeded our expectations. Our group ranged in age from 27-64, and unanimously voted it as one of our best family vacations ever. Highlights include our dog jumping joyously into the pond for a swim, kayaking, s’mores around the fire pit and morning coffee in the deck. We hope to all return next summer!

Great house, but be careful of the sliding doors
Our family enjoyed our stay in this airy, spacious home. The views are lovely and it was nice having our own private pond for the week. It's truly secluded, which means the internet/Wi-Fi can be spotty at times (pro tip: keep your phone in Wi-Fi calling mode for more reliable texting) but outages didn't last for too long at a time. There is a single a/c unit high up on a wall in the great room which does a decent job of keeping that floor (mostly) cool, but the large windows, doors and skylights let the sun in, so on hot, humid, sunny days the cool air doesn't really reach the upper bedrooms. There are a lot of portable and ceiling fans available which help somewhat. Be careful with the sliding doors, though - opening them (especially the screens) can be tricky and the glass ones can lock themselves when closed. My (adult) granddaughter closed the second floor sliding glass door when she went on the balcony and locked herself out of the house. She was unable to reach me due to poor cell service and was stranded there until I happened to go outside. The sliding doors in the kitchen and the first floor bedroom can also be inadvertently locked.

Such a lovely escape to Fox Ridge. We enjoyed the peaceful mornings waking up to the misty mountains and pond and the evenings in the hot tub listening to the sounds of bullfrogs and crickets. The daily city life can really take a toll on you, the constant noise, rush and lack of nature makes you not pay attention to the little things that we should all appreciate and be grateful for. This house highlights those “little things”. Upon arrival we instantly fell in love with this place. The location of the house, the open space, the view, the pond and the peaceful sounds of nature will make you feel like you’re in a fairytale. The house itself feels like a home, it is very welcoming and cozy. The pool table is perfect for some night time fun, we had a few intense games which were followed by unwinding in the hot tub. Our 2 year old golden retriever had the time of his life here, he was able to get ALL of his energy out by running around, fetching and swimming. I am very happy that I found this place as it is a gem. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is overdue for a vacation. We will most definitely be coming back!!!

Family Getaway
This is our second year vacationing at Fox Ridge. My husband and I brought our mother, brother, and sister-in-law to celebrate our mom's birthday. We had an amazing weekend at Fox Ridge. As always the house was impeccably clean, well-stocked, and so comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time sitting on the back deck and watching television and talking in the bright cozy living room. The house is decorated beautifully and you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Thank you for sharing your home with us again. We hope to return again next year!
