Nice - will use again.

We came to this property at very short notice having been double booked at another nearby and the host was able to sort us out and get us into two rooms very quickly. Croissants in the morning brill too!

Nice, quiet location, only a short drive to most places. Great hosts.

Great location for us, as we were able to walk to the festival we were going to on the Saturday. Only a short drive to Clacton and surrounding areas. Room was spacious with a lovely balcony. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Not much really, the grounds needed some work to make the setting even better (grass desperately needed a cut). Although breakfast was lovely, just think some yogurts need to be added to the menu. Other than that, our breakfast was really nice.

Warmly welcomed by our host who couldn't do enough for us and gave us information about the area

The location was perfect for us to stay after a wedding nearby. The breakfast was delicious, so many cereals to choose from, beautifully ripe fruit, toast to perfection. We wished we could have stayed longer.

There was nothing to dislike everything was perfect and suited us perfectly. We hope to return on another short break in the future but will certainly recommend to our friends and family.

We arrived as strangers, we left John and Elizabeth and their cute little dog Minty, as friends.

The Continental Breakfast was very good and satisfying. A good selection of cereals accompanied by a variety of fresh fruit including strawberries and grapes. We were served by our superb host John with every attention to detail. Barnfields Retreat is a stunning house set in its own large grounds. The property was a true Retreat free from any noise but within easy reach of the coast.

There was nothing we didn't like, and we look forward to our next visit.

The hosts were really nice and kind and very welcoming. We felt at home straight away as the house gives warm vibes. The view from our room was amazing and was very peaceful

I could not stay at friend whilst working in Frinton, looked excellent but not what I expected for price.

location and view, very hospitable hosts

bed too firm for me and thin pillows, dog hairs on carpet, awkward angle of tv to bed and chair. Limited channels. did not understand gluten free.

They were very friendly, they had a really lovely cute little dog called minty that we just wanted to take home with us. The bed was very comfortable, It was lovely and quiet. They have complementary drinks in a mini fridge in the room. Breakfast was lovely. Lots to choose from. We will definitely stay there again.

Perfect stay for family with pets!

Friendly staff, great size room , nice little touches such as mini fridge with complimentary drinks. Breakfast was superb. Nice selection of continental food. Owner makes you feel comfortable and loves dog!

Exceptional hosts and exceptional house!

Jon and Elizabeth were absolutely lovely hosts and so very welcoming. Without being intrusive in any way, they made you feel like personal guests. Even their little dog, Minty, was adorable. The house itself is just splendid and the breakfast rivaled the best we've had anywhere. It is set in lovely quiet grounds but just 10 mins drive from three lovely seaside resorts. Jon & Elizabeth did all they could to make our stay one we'll remember.

A fantastic, homely stay which we will always remember.

A beautiful BnB set in a beautiful location. The rooms were very homely and comfortable, everything you would need supplied in the room and more available. The hosts John and Elizabeth went above and beyond - very friendly, welcoming, knowledgable and forthcoming. We felt like friends by the end of our stay. We also took our dogs along which was great fun with their lil pooch Minty, all running and playing together in the large garden. The breakfast provided was beautiful. The location was perfect, very close to nearby attractions and pubs. We all agree that we can’t wait to go back later this year.

A big disappointment and nowhere near value for money

The location was fine, apart from being hard to find when approaching from the Clacton direction (sign only visible from the west).

The room was dated and in want of a thorough clean. Furniture was mismatched. Carpet was dirty and there was a stain on the wall. Dust on furniture & surfaces. Shower glass needed a good clean. Impossible to sleep due to noise from another room. Breakfast was poor, considering the amount paid.
