Rooms were good. Daisy and Carol were great cooks. Andrey, the manager is very knowledgeable about birds and more than willing to help with info of birding sights off the property. Although, birding on the property was excellent.
No doors on the bathrooms. Beds were not very comfortable. No housekeeping, if that's what you need. But we didn't care. Too busy enjoying.

food was pretty good.
washrooms needs to have a privacy door or curtain, very strange to see the open toilet from the bed.

Andre is a flexible and fun host. Always willing to help arrange whatever guests need.
Daisy and her sisters are amazing in the kitchen and concerned to please the guests. She was more than happy to accommodate any food allergies, preferences, etc. She needs a dishwasher with all of the guests she cares for.
Complimentary snacks available
Loved the natural feeding stations for the birds - great for photography!
Beautiful location at the end of the road
10 minutes from Rancho Naturalista, so pretty much the same birds as are on that list, without the snobbiness and ridiculous cost to stay (or just visit!) that place.
With just 8 or 10 rooms in the main lodge, this place has a real family feeling. If you want to be invisible and not interact with other guests, this might not be the place for you. But generally people who stay at a birding lodge enjoy that interaction and friendship that develops. We loved it!
We rented a car and found fun places to visit every day of our week there.
The hummingbird activity is spectacular. I wonder if there would be a way of hiding some of the feeders in order to get better photos.
Breakfast tends to be the same each day, but Daisy is open to suggestions.
Dinner is $15 per person, which seems a bit steep
I found on Booking that they offered a shared kitchen. This is not a shared kitchen with the other guests. This is the kitchen that Daisy is cooking in. She was more than willing to share, but I felt that I needed to stay out of her way when she was using the kitchen (which is pretty much all the time!)
Bed mattresses could be more comfortable.
A couple of mornings the water heater was turned off, not sure why.
Payment was strange - Booking didn't charge us ahead of time and we couldn't pay at the hotel with a credit card. We had to make a Zelle transfer. This is not my preference and it was a huge inconvenience for Andre.
Oropendolas are taking over the place. They chase off other birds and make noise all day long.

Nice rooms in a common building. Dining area was open to the kitchen. Nice atmosphere. Natural setting with good birdwatching. Natural ponds as well. A second, separate raised deck is great for relaxing and birds as well. Staff was amazing. Andre always helped us with birding the gardens, and took us right to the Sunbittern on the first morning. Daisy is an amazing chef. Daisy was always busy, too busy. Daisy prepared delicious food and took care of our dietary requirements. Daisy made the best chicken spaghetti, I have ever tasted. I would eat at her restaurant.
A door to the bathroom would be more normal. Walls too. Even a curtain in the doorway to the bathroom would help.. A couple of comfy chairs on the main floor would have been nice.

Fantastic location
Food was plentiful, freshly prepared and delicious - Daisy was amazing
Modern room and very comfortable lodge
Great terrace with hummingbirds right in front of you
Limited hot water for showers (on both days and morning and evening)
Room could do with a fan just to cool a little bit

Andrey was a nice host and Daisy an excellent cook. We saw the sunbittern close to the property and many other species around the lodge. The grounds look beautiful. Bed was good, shower as well.
The open bathroom was interesting.

The staff was so friendly and helpful.
Andre took us right to he Sunbittern. He pointed out many species at the lodge. There was great viewing from the lodge and the 2nd large viewing platform. He also arranged a pass to the Rancho lodge for our first sighting of the Snowcap Hummingbird.
Daisy is an excellant chef and paid special attention to our dietary restrictions. Our meals were so delicious. She made sure everything was perfect for us. The rooms were comfy and spotless. Daisy is always working and very loveable.
Omar was super friendly and helped me with my Spanish, as was the other fellow.
I loved our stay here and the natural surroundings.
Quieter and less crowded than some lodges.
I was very sad to leave.
I didn't like leaving.

modern feel, wonderful birding at and nearby the lodge, the staff were great!
It was cold! Almost every space, including our room was open to the elements. In some locations this would be fine but so high up in the mountains it was just chilly the whole time. Also, the lovely modern space was so nice, but the upstairs needed more furnishings and things on the walls (framed photos that the owner has taken would be nice).

spacious and very clean. open plan aspect and the view was fabulous. Freddy and Daisy were so welcoming and helpful and Daisy provided lovely breakfasts, lunches and dinners - excellent home cooking.
Freddy was very knowledgeable about birds and took us on a couple of days.
Nothing really but the doorless bathroom was interesting!

We just stopped here for one night on our way from Puerto Viejo to Uvita. I can imagine that this truly is a birding paradise. If you are not into that there is not much to see in the surroundings. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. As the property is a bit further away from a city center it is nice that you can have dinner there, which was of good quality.
We were quite cold at night and there is no
heather. We were given a bigger room (which looked pretty cool) which had some sort of outside/inside sounding ceiling which made sure you heard all the ambient noises. Even though that can be nice, we didn’t sleep so well because of all the noises inside the room.

Modern lodge with great view, feeding stations to watch birds from close, large garden with lots of plants attracting butterflies and hummingbirds, great breakfast in the morning (Thank you, Daisy!!!)
The lack of doors to the bathrooms

The property is absolutely beautiful. This will soon be a premier birding lodge that will be perfect for bird enthusiasts and even more so for wildlife photographers. The staff is wonderful. Daisy and Iznelia are wonderful cooks and the lodge is immaculate. Andrey is a great host, bird photographer, and made transportation arrangements that were reliable and convenient.
The rooms are very nice. I would like to have screens on the windows to deter insects,

The lodge is a a modern open design which keeps the property cool. We had a very clean and spacious room. Free beverages available throughout your stay. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Daisy and Freddie were very friendly and helpful . Freddie is very knowledgeable about nature and gave us a wonderful morning birdwatching tour. The lodge has several bird watching/photographers hides from which we saw many species. Highly recommended.
