The beach house was ideal for what we needed. We took up 2 of the 4 rooms and used the common area quite a bit. The rooms are simple and comfortable with AC. There are facilities to store food and cook but we only used the fridge. The beach is 30 seconds away and the Lilian restaurant is about 6 minute walk! Perfect! The breakfast was basic but tasty - eggs with toast and coffee. The Fonda across the road is great for lunch too. Patricia was a fabulous host, helpful, attentive and friendly. Would 100% recommend!

Arrived as a stranger – left with good memories and new friends in this family.
Panama Beach Villa is a seven minute walk to a beautiful, mostly secluded beach. Multi million dollar homes, mostly empty, face the beach - during daily morning walks, never saw more than a half a dozen people. Mixture of black and white sand; the surf is swimmable - if you’re strong. Wonderful place for an early morning or late afternoon stroll.
The villa has a nice pool for hot midday swims. Communal kitchen and plenty of shaded area outside with comfortable hammocks and chairs and clean rooms and bathroom with hot water and great pressure.
20 minute walk to pizza and a market. 28 to a night club/restaurant, another market and a small local eating place called a Fonda.
Our South African hosts were most accommodating and kind. Fellow guests shared potluck meals with them, learning so much about South African history, and the travails this family endured to set up a new life in Panama. They were most helpful in driving us to the shops and advice on local access.
These are good people. Hope to one day stay again at Coronado Beach Villa.

Killian beach house is a hostel type accommodation a minutes walk away from Farallon beach, a handful of restaurants & convenience stores. The location & people are the best features at Kilian. It’s run by a lovely family that are happy to help and also run a delicious contemporary restaurant with the same name 7 min walk inland. In contrast to the contemporary upmarket decor at the restaurant, the seemingly clean but rough-around-the-edges rooms are super basic with AC, clean sheets, towels, working Wi-Fi, basic hand soap, as long as you do not mind the occasional cockroach and having to walk across the communal living area to reach your ‘private’ cold-shower bathroom (our bathroom was not en-suite to the room). The building has seen better days and could do with a refurb, but must have once been an impressive large home. Our sheets were refreshed, bathroom & common areas cleaned once in the 6 nights we stayed. We swept the floors ourselves daily as to not get beach sand everywhere. In the shared areas, the fridge to keep our cold water & beer, & the basic old but working washing machine were convenient. We preferred the house during the week when we were practically the only guests as it felt more private & quiet. By the weekend more guests arrived, partying late through the night in their rooms and the common areas. There was a power cut in the entire neighbourhood (seemingly common throughout the outskirts of Panama City) on Saturday morning, which lasted a few hours, but luckily didn't affect our stay too much.
As it was so basic, the price of the room felt expensive in comparison to beachfront hotels we stayed in through the rest of Panama during the same month, which were in better condition, with better view, or with quality facilities. This said, the Farallon beach area does not have much choice for more moderately priced accommodation. The room would have been better listed as "room with external private bathroom" as to not surprise guests on arrival. We would have liked comfortable seats on the shared balcony, instead of little plastic stools. More hanging space for our clothes, a larger bedside table (again we just had a small stool), & a bedside lamp would make the room more comfortable. The AC was old & made the air in the room dusty. There was also a big hole where it was installed, exposed directly to the outside. A fan in the room, with mosquito net or window screens would have been nice so we could have some fresh air without worry of mosquitoes, as the temperature was moderate in the evenings. The sewage drains needs to be treated as there were cockroaches seen in the bathroom at nighttime, and also one in the kitchen on our 1st night. Although our nice host Patricia dealt with it straightaway, we felt uncomfortable about having food in the house, and opted to dine out instead.

It wasn't exactly what I expected. But it was a good stay and I would recommend it. It's only a stone throw away from the beach. The host Patricia is very friendly and helpful. There is no breakfast on site but a large shared kitchen. The Kilian restaurant is a short walk away up the road and it is excellent. Awesome coffee! There is a bar across the lane and a fonda next to it plus two merkados within walking distance. The bar provides good music all afternoon and into the night. I liked it but if you are looking for quiet you may not. The rooms are very basic and the beds could be better but everything is really clean. Free parking for the guests. The locals are very friendly and engaging. The DJ at the bar will play your requests. If you meet Angel (speaks english) on the beach he will offer you catered fishing trips and rides to the island in his panamanian style fishing boat.
