The ambience and experience are impeccable. Truly a Japanese experience thru and thru, I know anyone would enjoy this. Got money? Get the added private Onsen attached to you room but still outdoors - you will feel like a SHOGUN.
The food - all raw fish. Ewww. That said, the fried chicken is only a mile or two away! I guess some people might like raw fish, but I forgive them for their bad taste.

This is a beautiful traditional onsen with wonderful staff members and fun amenities. Don’t skip the salt scrub in the public bath!

This property is a hidden gem!! Everything about it was just luxurious!! I was hesitant to see its location was next to a train station but we never heard it (or saw it) and we had views looking out over it. Love the free Matcha/coffee station and at different times of the day they will have different freebies for you to try. Eg. Ice cream, yakult, juices, teas. The private onsens are magnificent! Make sure you spend the time checking them all out, we didn’t make it to the public ones.
The whole resort has tatami flooring so no shoes while walking between room/restaurant/onsen etc. you’re instantly immersed into Japanese culture. Next you can hire a Yukata to wear around the resort (and outside if you dare) so you also look the part. Pack lightly, unless you’re venturing outside you won’t need much clothing.
We were disappointed that we didn’t get the free noodles served between 10.30pm-11.30pm. The line up was huge! I’d suggest lining up early - it’s very popular. You will also be up for extra charges outside of the booking.com room charge. One charge is a local tax and the other is the hot spring tax. All up for 2 people for 1 night we were charged $7AUD, so it wasn’t a lot but just not expected. Staff spoke ‘ok’ English but locker numbers and room numbers are all in Japanese symbols.

The property is clean and quiet, and staffs are very nice, I told them it’s my birthday trip and they have arranged a room with some view and gave me birthday gift! Besides, the private Onsen is so nice and you can have a perfect experience about traditional Japanese lifestyle, I will certainly come back next time.

The Resort is located just beside the station and bus stop, which made travelling there really convenient! The entrance itself was an attraction with all the blooming trees and the staff would greet you once they notice you approaching the entrance. You get to choose your own rental yukata and there are 5 private onsen and 2 separated shared ones for males and females. It does get rather crowded but it's definitely worth a go.
My only regrets are that I only spent 1 night there and didn't get to try all the onsens since it was really popular.

Authentic Japanese experience of onsen bath. Just a short and pleasant walk from the bamboo forest and the river.
It could’ve been a bit cheaper for the services provided.

Very good location, walking distance from train station.
Onsens (both public and private) are good.
Provide complimentary tickets to Fufu-noyu.
Customer service, rude, instructions not clear eg wearing of footwear within compound.
Inflexible dining hours - was chased off by restaurant staff to stop my breakfast and leave by 9.30am - very unpleasant.
Overrated thematic hotel, need to pay a significant premium.
No complimentary bicycle rental - need to pay $$$

Everything. Totally pleased with the stay. Location is excellent too.
Probably the public Onsen could be closed slightly later coz the private Onsen is very popular, other than that no.

Very authentic
Some people take over private onsen for quite a while as no relevant restriction facilities.

It is very convenient to ride the train to the town and nice walking distance to the bamboo forest and shopping streets. Breakfast is awesome and onsen is superb.
Ramen was nice but served too late at 10:30 pm. We didn't make it. Checkin is a little bit too long. We dropped off the luggages in the morning and left for bamboo forest sighseeing. Came back after 3 pm to get our room key. Then, the front desk started asking us to take shoes off and stored them in shoe boxes and also yukata pickup for onsen later. I felt it was not necessary to do the yukata process since we will not go onsen right away. We could just put the shoes away and checked in our room and then come back to pick up yukata when we are ready for onsen. There are already yukata inside the room and we really didn't need them. Anyway.

A very nice onsen resort in Arashiyama region.
Room is clean and spacious. Hot springs are nice with good facilities.
Staff are really helpful and good in communications. A few of them can speak fluent English and Mandarin.
Buffet area in the restaurant is bit small and packed. People has to queue up for a while during peak breakfast hours.

Beautiful place in an area not too close to the centre but very well connected with several train stations between 3 and 15 minutes away on foot.
Lovely staff and beautiful private baths. We didn't see the public baths.
Some of the baths didn't seem to be in full working order (but we still enjoyed them!).
It's a pity that breakfast wasn't fully buffet but also had some staples that were brought to your table everyday and if you didn't like them they were wasted. I suppose they are standard japanese breakfast dishes and most people would eat them but we didn't enjoy all of them and it's a shame they went to waste.

Location
Facility is old and tired.
Hotel website literally said no dinner can be booked. But when we arrived hotel on time and check in. We were notified dinner has been fully booked.

Private Onsen
No concierge services from hotel e.g. reservation or cancellation the restaurants, booking sight seeing activities, etc.
The dinner and breakfast are not attractive when compared to the price and other luxury hotels in Arashiyama.
The room is small and facilities is old. Amenities are limited.
Location is far from walking street and restaurants.

An atmospheric hotel, with an onsen, you can rent a kimono. Dinner seemed very healthy. But try sake! It's worth taking a walk around at night. Day time full of tourist and noisy. Monkey park-ok, but little tired climbing.
Since the hotel is designed in a traditional manner, there may be problems with the sewerage. There was a not very pleasant smell in the toilet

The location was convenient, and the living environment was comfortable, unless the private hot springs were slightly dirty.
There were a few customers making noise during the evening.

The resort was generally clean and everything worked well. Nice Japanese setting. And friendly staffs. Near the train station, the bridge and bamboo forest.
Just that I feel the clean is not that clean.

Everything was great: a fantastic little getaway from Kyoto. Staff was super friendly; food provided was excellent - great intro to authentic Japanese food; and the proximity to nearby sights was just a stone's throw away. Also to note is that there are a public onsen; private onsen baths that you can line up for in the lobby; and there are rooms with you in-room onsen. Great choice for people with tattoos.
one of the beds in our room was extremely uncomfortable: by the time we found out it was too late to say anything so it's nothing of the hotel's fault.

The check experience was great. The staff were friendly and did everything they could to communicate with us and make us feel comfortable. The Onsens were beautiful and clean. The late night ramen was a happy surprise. I would come back and stay in an instances.
They’re really wasn’t much I didn’t like. Even though there was a language barrier we were able to understand each other. I would have been nice to have a form that just explains the Onsen experience for foreigners. I had done some research on the subject but my friend was alil confused but all in all it was absolutely lovely hotel, wonderful staff and fantastic experience.
