This spacious home provided a grounding home base for our adventure to Costa Rica. We are a family of 8 and it met all of our needs There was more than enough living space inside and out-to be together and also take restful space- including a beautiful pool and a well equipped kitchen. The host and property manager were very attentive. It was fantastic!

We were 3 families with 12 total. The pictures depict the property perfectly (and it is even more beautiful). We had excellent communication via “WhatsApp” prior to our arrival and during our stay. The property managers Fabricio and Tess gave us some excellent recommendations on beaches and food stops.
The casita was perfect for the older teens in the group and was like their own bachelor pad. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed (including a gift of some CR coffee and hot sauce😋). The BBQ was handy for cooking meals outside.
The pools area was tough to leave, but if you did, the beach was a short 5 min drive away.
We had some issues with dishwasher and getting hot water to the master bedroom upstairs, but these were very minor concerns for us and we informed property managers when we were checking out.
The property was 5 ⭐️ and one of the highlights of our trip

Our group just finished the best stay we’ve ever had in Samara.
The house is beautiful and well equipped. We’ve stayed in Samara a number of times over the past 13 years and my wife and I agree this was the cleanest and most well equipped with a great location. Love love loved it!

We just returned from an amazing week here! We stayed at the house for a week-long family vacation and birthday celebration. It was a wonderful experience all around! This property and location were the perfect remote getaway with only a brief 5 minute drive to Samara beach and restaurants.
Sue, Tess & Fabri were so helpful in preparing us and supporting us which made our planning and stay so smooth. Sue was wonderful in helping us with our reservations, planning, housing instructions etc. Tess outreached me with questions about our preferred sleeping arrangements and provided information about local businesses and activities. She is very patient and responsive and we are very appreciative of her! Both Tess & Fabri have local businesses too. We highly recommend surf lessons and massages through them!
We are a family of 11, with 4 kids & 7 adults. There was plenty of room with the house and Casita, and we enjoyed most of our meals at the house which was so much more peaceful and fun. We enjoyed a local family style meal (delivered), fresh caught mahi (successful fishing adventure), and enjoyed the local grocery for creating other meals. We had 2 meals out in Samara- both wonderful.
We spent a great deal of time in and near the pool, and there were often monkeys surrounding us in the trees. Such a unique experience for all - and our kids were beyond thrilled to see all of the wildlife (monkeys, birds, hummingbirds, etc) and trees! Casa Mesakeca is amazing!

Our stay at Casa Mesakeca was wonderful. The house is located about a five minute drive from Samara so you fell like you’re in the middle of the jungle but close to stores, restaurants, etc. The house has high ceilings and each room has plenty of space. The kitchen was really well stocked and the appliances all were nice and functioned well. The pool is a pretty large and has nice shallow area for a baby or a toddler to play in. Lots of howler monkeys and parrots came to see us. We really enjoyed our stay!

We feel incredibly grateful for our recent stay at Casa Mesakeca, where every moment was filled with warmth, relaxation, and unforgettable memories. Susan, Fabri, and Tes, our remarkable hosts, exceeded our expectations in every way. Their responsiveness, genuine hospitality, and constant presence (always there when we needed them) made us feel like part of their extended family.
One of the standout features of Casa Mesakeca was its generous space, which comfortably accommodated our group of 11. We appreciated having ample room to spread out, ensuring everyone's comfort and privacy. Whether it was gathering in the spacious living areas for lively conversations or enjoying peaceful moments by ourselves, the design of the home provided the perfect balance between togetherness and personal space.
During our stay, we were fortunate enough to experience a few blissful "house" days, where we could unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings to the fullest. The inviting swimming pool beckoned us to take refreshing dips and soak up the sun, while the picturesque trees attracted playful monkeys, creating a magical ambiance. These idyllic moments were the epitome of relaxation, allowing us to disconnect from the outside world and truly immerse ourselves in the beauty of Casa Mesakeca.

Fantastic home! Everything was laid out perfectly and we were comfortable. The outdoor space was our favorite as we listened to the sounds of the jungle and played in the pool. The close proximity to town made it easy for us to get groceries and meet up for excursions.

We were two families of four, perfect for adults and kids alike. The house and location are amazing. The check in process was easy, the on-site managers were great. We hope to be back.

This house was absolutely stunning and exceeded our expectations. The amount of space we had was more then enough for our family of 5 (3 school aged kids and 2 adults). We did not rent the guest house so we can only speak for the main house. The house is very modern and has all of the amenities you would ever need. The house was well stocked with beach/pool towels, linens, and kitchen tools, dishes, pots/pans. It even had those little things that are a perk when staying at a rental - garbage bags, Tupperware, beach chairs, umbrella, ziplock bags, laundry detergent, etc.
The house is very well designed, we loved the layout and how open it felt. The bedrooms were all very spacious with A/C units in each room. The kids loved the loft spaces in two of the bedrooms.
The location was wonderful. A 5 min drive away from all of the fun in downtown samara and playa samara, 20 min drives to two other wonderful beaches. The house is surrounded by trees with loads of privacy.
The pool and outdoor seating area is beyond perfect. We loved the seating in the pool along with the shaded areas with a large table and couches. It was a great place to sit and enjoy the morning and evening wildlife. We loved seeing the monkeys in the trees every morning and every evening.
If we come back to Samara (which we hope we do), we would love to stay here again. It was the perfect spot for our family vacation in Costa Rica. Thank you so much for everything during our stay!

We had a fantastic stay at Casamekeca. The house is spacious and was perfect for our group of nine people. The kitchen and laundry area are clean, organized and well stocked with the necessities. Sámara is a short drive away. We felt comfortable and enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful home and gorgeous location in the woods.

This house is magnificent- better than the pictures.
We had a crisis while here and Tess, Fabri and Sue were all amazing and supportive. We really appreciate their kindness.

We were a family group of 11 celebrating my 75th birthday. The four children ranged in age from 6 to 14. The house was the perfect arrangement for a large family.
We played charades one evening. During the heat of the day, some would go to their rooms to take advantage of the .air conditioning.
The pool is unbelievably large! At one end, there is a shallow shelf. This is so much safer than the kind of pool that gradually gets deeper. The youngest had to stay in this sizable shallow area. There were also two umbrella shaded chairs in the pool, which was a great allure for those who liked to cool their feet in the pool, while reading.
I was amazed tht the cleaning staff was able to keep this house so clean, since it was in the middle of the jungle.
The monkeys entertained all of us with their antics.
The cicadas were horribly noisy, but once we learned that they would all go to sleep when it was dark, we learned to accept them as 'white noise' during the day. They were known to dive-bomb us when we ate outside at night, so most of our meals were unfortunately eaten indoors.
Plenty of kitchen items -- even for large groups like ours.
Tess and Fabricio were responsive to all our needs.
Samara is the most pure BeachTown I have ever been to. It was such fun!
It was a great week, alhough it came to an end too quickly.
I am already making plans to return next year with my women's group!!

House was fantastic for our family of 4. Enjoyed the pool and patio when we weren’t out experiencing everything the Samara area has to offer. Kitchen was very well stocked with anything you could need. We were greeted with a nice welcome basket of coffee and snacks. House was very clean. Would not hesitate to stay here again if ever back in the Samara area.

I have stayed in four homes in samara, and this is by far the best! It is a luxurious oasis! From the howler monkeys, to Fabrício’s great help, Casa Mesakeca was like home! Thank you Sue for helping with groceries and our first night dinner. Everything was a dream!

We loved our stay. The house was perfect for our family of 5. Great location - just far enough from Samara but close enough to fully enjoy all that it offers. 5 minutes to playa samara, 10 minutes to playa Carrillo, our personal favorite. Nice property in the jungle surrounded by lots of birds and wildlife. Howling monkeys seemed to enjoy the location as well and were often passing through or napping in the trees. We enjoyed sitting by the pool in the mornings drinking coffee and watching the show. Property managers Fabricio and Tess live nearby and were always accessible and helpful. Strongly recommend Fabricio’s surfing lesson. The house is laid out nicely with all of the bedrooms down a hallway away from the center living space. Kitchen is well equipped. We would definitely return.

We rented Casa Mesakeca for a family vacation (Parents, 3 Adult children + Spouses, and 3 kids) and already can't wait to go back. The house was ideal for our family in terms of the thoughtful layout. Everyone had their own private space in the comfy + well appointed bedrooms (comfy beds, A/C, etc.) while the communal areas were perfect for enjoying pool time, meals, and games together. Location is just up from town (about 5 mins drive- 2WD is fine) giving us a quiet and relaxing home base during our stay while also allowing us to pop into town for beach time, groceries, coffees, etc. The neighborhood and home felt safe and secure and the communication with the house manager was easy and always responsive. We appreciated the attention to detail this home/owner provides, ensuring that your stay is as comfortable as possible (mid week cleaning, ample pool and beach towels/chairs, basic toiletries, etc.). This place truly feels like a VRBO, there is personal care and touch throughout the entire process and it made our stay perfect... Thank you to the whole Casa Mesakeca team!!

This was my first time to Costa Rica and this house was perfect. The layout was excellent for our family (2 families with 3 young kids). We were in the pool at the first light of day and loved every minute of it. The location is great because it's just a short drive into town for groceries and the beach but far enough away that you feel like you are in the jungle. The caretakers were excellent and the house exceeded our expectations. The A/C in the bedrooms worked wonderfully and was definitely nice after a day in the heat and humidity. Would definitely recommend this place. Thanks!

We came for 7 nights with a group of 10. This house had everything we needed or wanted for our trip. The host was super easy to communicate with and the property manager (Tess) was more than helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed the wildlife and the secluded location. We felt that we was close enough to the main part of town but still had our own little world.

Been all over Costa Rica...this place is the best!
We were a large group of friends and family (preschoolers, school-agers, 20-somethings, 30-somethings, 40-somethings, 50-somethings and 70-somethings) - ALL of us LOVED this house. Better than the pictures! I have been to Costa Rica at least once a year for the last 16 years. Of all the houses I have stayed in, this one was the best! The owner, Sue, and the manager, Tess are helpful and responsive from the minute you book. Tess arranged for us to have an expertly prepared dinner delivered to the house the night of our arrival after a long and trying day of travel! It was amazing. Tess also prepared a plan for sleeping arrangements which worked out perfectly. She and Sue really have thought of everything. The pool was sparkling and inviting The monkeys moved from tree to tree while we floated away the day. Speaking of floating...there are plenty of floats, noodles, boogie boards, you name it, they got it! The poolside bathroom kept all the water outside the house. :) Going into town was a quick 5 mins or less and Playa Samara has always been a favorite of ours. We ate at some great new places, but were also able to find all the ingredients we needed to cook anything we wanted in the awesome kitchen. The foodie 20somethings were impressed. No small feat :) The beds, the linens, the towels, the finishes, the design (yes, we had a design snob in the group as well), the setting, the wildlife, the place is just magical. Made some of the best memories of our lives during our stay. Hope we can make it back some day. Pura Vida!

Jungle Luxury
Wow! This house met and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the thoughtful layout of the house with the incredible ability to allow the sounds of the outdoors in. The house offered all the comforts and amenities that we needed. We spent many hours playing in the pool, while those who choose an indoor activity never felt cut off due to the large walls that folded away. The wildlife that surrounded the house kept my kids engaged, we saw so many beautiful birds, butterflies and even a few monkeys from the porches. The distance from the town of Samara made it very easy to head to the beach or eat at one of the amazing restaurants resturants. This house allowed everyone in our family the chance to vacation the way they choose, whether it be relax by the pool, head out for an adventure or watch a movie in the living room. Whenever we had issues arise the property managers were very attentive and willing to find quick solutions. My kids who range from teens to toddler all reported this house as the best place they have ever stayed. Thank you for the memorable and amazing time!

Not the house for us
Visually this is a beautiful home. The property manager and her husband were lovely. It was reasonably clean. The location was ok. There were some challenges that had I understood in advance we would not have booked the home. 1) there were multiple broken latches on the windows one of which is easily accessible from outside. We were not able to secure the home when leaving for the day or while sleeping at night. This is unnerving in a new place with my 2 young children. When I emailed the owner requesting she refund 2 of our 4 nights stay because we wanted to move on to another accommodation she responded “home security is not an issue because we have a property manager with patrol dogs” who lives near by. 🤨. 2) be aware the edges of the pool attract a great number of bees and hornets, to the extent it was difficult to coax our 7 & 10 yo water loving kids into the pool. Choose another house if you’re allergic. The property manager did offer to spray which we declined as we did not want the boys around the chemicals. 3) read the details of the home carefully. There is air conditioning in the bed rooms but none in the main living space which has 2 small fans and a bunch of screened windows that have no panes in an attempt to catch a cross breeze. The days we were there were hot and the main living area on the first day was uninhabitable and the next 2 very uncomfortable. We made the best of it but left a day early.

Perfect House!
We loved this property! I wanted something close to the beaches of Samara but with the charm of staying in the jungle and this house delivered! My husband and I took our four kids, three of their spouses and my parents and the house was perfect for our big group! My parents stayed in the casita and loved being close but also having their own private area. The pool is perfect. One day we all sat in the pool and just watched the monkeys playing in the tress just feet away from us. It was amazing! The house is well stocked, beautiful and very comfortable. The managers were SO HELPFUL! They arranged for a chef to bring us dinner, helped us pick out great restaurants and even bought us a book on the birds of Costa Rica. It was perfect!

Wonderful Vacation
This is a fantastic property that I would highly recommend. This newly-built, modern home is designed for comfort, fun and privacy. The pool and patio area are great as are all the living areas. The kitchen is a gourmet's dream and is well equipped with everything you will need to create a fantastic meal. The location, only five minutes from the beach and town of Samara, provides true solitude and a sanctuary experience. We really enjoyed the monkeys and numerous birds in the surrounding woods. What a treat! Samara is a gem. Not touristy or crowded but still offering a nice beach experience and a surprising number of great open-air restaurants with international flavors.
The local property managers were very helpful and responsive to any questions or needs. Don't pass this one up!
