About this house rental
Located in the heart of the beautiful cozy town of Mt. Dora, you can just park the car and walk to all restaurants and shops. Could not be more well located than this! It is literally in the middle of downtown Mt. Dora. This cottage was built in 1948 and happens to be the only home located within the business district of downtown Mt. Dora. The (back unit) of the "Tiny House" offers everything you need to relax, enjoy the town and feel right at home. In the mornings, just walk a half block to Allyson Bakery, and get amazing coffee drinks. I must admit they have the best Oreo Cheesecake in the world! Don't feel like going out and about, just hang inside watching your favorite shows on Netflix and other channels. With so many restaurant options in downtown Mt. Dora, there will not be much time for cooking. But in case you decide to stay in, the kitchen comes fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker. For your convenience we also have a washer and dryer in the unit. Enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the sunset from your own private back balcony. The King size bed features memory foam mattress with Ritz Carlton type mattress topper. Warning!: It might be difficult to wake up in the mornings! : )
We love animals and we are pet friendly! Bring your pooch ( up to 30 lb.) along for the ride. Most businesses downtown Mt. Dora are pet friendly. There will be a non refundable $100 pet fee. A picture of the pet has to be sent prior booking for review and acceptance.
Wave and 1921 restaurants are located half block from this house. Las Palmas restaurant is located 1 block from this house. Modernism Museum is half block from this house. Maggie’s Attic is located 2 blocks from this house. This house is located one block from Donnelly Street and 4th Ave.
Parking for this unit is located on the driveway on the right hand side of the house. There is parking for only 1 car.
Being right downtown is great since once you park, you can just walk everywhere. But keep in mind, this house is located in an area where street closures happen during major Events. Streets are blocked from 6 PM on Fridays to late Sundays during these events. Events that causes street closures are: Mount Dora Arts Festival & Craft Fair, Christmas Walk and Light up Mount Dora. You will not be able to access the house by car during these times. You will have to park curbside near the house or use the following parking garages:

The place was adorable, clean, and best of all, it had an amazing location, just steps from downtown and the Blueberry Festival. We loved it and would definitely stay there again!

Extremely clean little property right downtown. We walked everywhere…perfect location! The property is very small but worked great for the two of us! My only complaint would be the AC has a really hard time cooling the apartment and it might benefit with a ceiling fan in the bedroom. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Mt. Dora that is clean and convenient to everything, this is it!

I struggled with deciding if I should leave a review after I left and recieved a email letting me know a $200 dollar damage payment was due. This was because my 8 pound yorkie who just had 6 bottom front teeth pulled out had chewed on the door and scratched the floor. I saw scratches on the floor but believed the chair did it because I saw where felt had fallen off the bottom of the leg. She's 7 years old and has never done this before and we travel a lot with her. Maybe she did so we asked for pictures and never got a response. Loved Mount Dora, place had good parking and location. Not a place to relax in for 2 people, only one chair not counting Kitchen chairs. Plug under nightstand needs replaced, my cpac plug would fall out. Will return to Mount Dora but will find a different place.

The location was perfect! Walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The host responded right away with any questions that we had. We will definitely be back!

Photos of this place do not show how nice this rental is. Very clean and it is in a perfect location. It is close to everything but very private too. We could hear music from our deck and sunsets were beautiful. So comfortable and well managed. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

This was PERFECT for my husband and I, who are avid travelers & foodies and wanted to walk around, experience local cuisine, do some shopping, have some nice wine, and be within easy walking distance, right in the center of it all. We're so glad we stayed here! We quickly realized we made a good decision, as it was the most centrally-located while still being 100% peaceful and silent at night. Not a peep! In fact, this was the most quiet I've had in years. We slept like dreamboats in the huge memory foam bed, and made eggs & avocado toast in the morning before heading out to explore. Check in was a breeze—I love a great self-check-in keypad—and we felt really safe the entire time. Even better? The owner, Karen, owns a candle factory, so the whole place is like a spa. Cleaned to perfection, high-end finishings, and a cozy and adorable mini cottage for two. Karen even checked in with us to make sure we knew how to turn on the heat, as it was chilly the few days we were in town! Great place, great host, would definitely book again. Thanks, Karen!

This was our 3rd visit to Mt Dora and our 2nd time at Christmas. The cottage was just as depicted, very clean and cozy. The host Karen answered any questions we had promptly. The only downside was the cold weather over Christmas. The location was great for that as we could quickly walk to our favorite Mexican place, Fiesta Grande in just a couple minutes!

We planned a last minute trip to Mt Dora and wanted to be able to park our car and walk to everything. This place was perfect. The size was great for 2 and the patio was fabulous, extremely large with a nice chair and table set. Bed was very comfortable . We walked everywhere the 2 days we were there. Karen, the owner, was very attentive to us! We'll definitely be back .

What a great little hideaway in Mt Dora. Walkable. House is tiny but it fit my husband, me and my two boys perfectly as we spent the days on the lake. Has a cute outdoor back patio too. We loved it so much, before we even checked out, we re-booked for march.

While the location was great and the cottage was cute there were some areas of improvement. An electric outlet was defective to left of bed. The cottage needed a toaster and towels provided for all occupants. There was a problem with the air but that was remedied. Suggestion would be to provide more information regarding the workings of the cottage, like where to put trash or recycling, what to do if air stops, what is needed to check out.

Look no further for a cozy, lovely and immaculate place to stay while you experience beautiful downtown historic Mt. Dora! This little cottage has everything you need for a delightful stay - and the host, Karen, could not be more welcoming and attentive! I brought my dog and she made us both feel right at home! I cannot say enough about how immaculately clean and fresh the cottage was when we arrived! I thought I was the only one left in the world who cleaned like this! You will not be disappointed! Perfect mt dora stay!
We were here for a girls weekend and the cottage was perfect for us. Super clean, historic, and sooo close to everything. We could shop and go back to the tiny house and then go back out. Check in and out was easy. We would love to come back!
