About this house rental
Our large home is great for getting together with friends and family to enjoy the year-round beauty of western Maine. Winter activities abound from alpine skiing and riding, to nordic skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, and sleigh rides. Spring time brings sunshine, flowers, and a chance to hit the slopes in a t-shirt! Summer is one of the best times to visit. Warm days are perfect for splashing in the plentiful waterfalls, rivers and lakes that dazzle under the summer sun. Miles of hiking and biking trails from peaks to ponds can be found within a short distance of the house. Don't forget to sample delicious Maine blueberries! The cooler days of fall bring vibrant colors to the mountains, hike one of the nearby peaks or drive one of the many scenic routes for truly spectacular views. Our farmhouse is the perfect base for your group, no matter when you choose to visit.
The house was built from a converted farmhouse and barn. The main portion of the house has 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 2 living areas, a large kitchen and dining area that opens to the porch and patio. There are a total number of 2 king size beds, 5 queen size beds, 5 twin beds, and 3 pullout/convertible beds. Linens and towels are provided.
The patio has Adirondack chairs with a firepit looking out over the expansive lawn and a grill to prepare outdoor meals. Just down the street is access to Bryant Pond (Lake Christopher), a quiet, beautiful lake great for kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding. Your rental includes the use of kayaks that can be carted down to the lake.
Dogs are welcome at our house, they will love the yard and lake as well, but will require an extra cleaning fee (please include them in your reservation).
Our home has recently undergone renovations. Some of the photos in our listing have been updated . A brand new professional kitchen stove/oven was installed earlier in 2022 and the painting of the exterior is nearly done, with finishing touches complete in fall 2022! Next on our renovations list (later in Fall/Winter 2022) is updating the bathrooms.

The farmhouse was perfect for our large extended family. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. A large kitchen that could accommodate the entire family for a sit down meal. Large yard set back from the road. Short walk to the beautiful lake. Close to Bethel with good options for food and recreation. Highly recommend!

The farmhouse has plenty of bedrooms (7) and bathrooms (6+), a great kitchen and two living rooms so plenty of room for all activities. Plus the lake is a two-minute walk. Overall a great vacation spot.

We all loved it. The house was well arranged with many bedrooms and five bathrooms. There were two refrigerators and two dishwashers. Great planning to have two sitting rooms at opposite ends of the main floor, one had a tv. Both had plenty of seating. Outside was very roomy. The patio with a fire pit, a wood supply, and plenty of seats was an awesome way to spend the evenings. There was plenty of space for whiffle ball and kickball, badminton, and corn hole. The lake was nearby, and we loved th kayaks and tubes. Sunsets were gorgeous with mountains in the background. Also, the house is close to several state parks and other hiking sites.
All 18 of us, ranging in age from 83 to 10, thought it was one of the best vacation spots we’ve been to.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were a large multigenerational group. Ages 1 to 61. We loved sitting around the fire at night. The kids had a ball on the kayaks. We found great stuff to do in the area too. Highly recommend this house!

I hosted a retreat for my organization and this house was perfect. Perfect location to go out and enjoy nature and hikes (even when it was raining). Small town close by where we were able to go bowling and enjoy getting out of the city. Overall great trip and 10/10 recommend.

Our group of 21 had a wonderful time. There was plenty of space to both spread out and to gather. We got lots of use from the kayaks on the nearby pond, and the huge yard was perfect for volleyball and other games with the kids. The fire pit was a wonderful place to gather at night.

We enjoied all the farmhouse had to offer from the lake to sitting around the firepit! The dining roomwere we could all sit together can not say enough wonderful things about the farmhouse!

Twenty of us gathered for a week in the spacious house, with 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers! Very helpful! There are AC units in each bedroom, a blessing the week we were there! We had immediate response from our host Craig re: a couple minor snafus... We spent a lot of time in the lake which is very nice, clean and fresh and a short walk from the house. When not swimming there are lots of fun activities close by, ( Gem Museum, Shaker Museum, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Step Falls, Tubing...) as well as a comfy outdoor sitting area with a fire pit at the house. All in all we had a terrific week at the Farmhouse. I would recommend it as an easy place for a family gathering!

This is a great property for multiple families to stay and unwind. The dining area is a great gathering spot, while the multiple bedrooms (with full bathrooms!) are key to making it easy for many families to feel comfortable. The lake is gorgeous, and is a short walk down the road. The front lawn was perfect for games of all kinds, and Michelle and Craig were very responsive to any question we had during our stay. We look forward to returning!

We've been going up to Bryant pond for years on Memorial Day weekend and the rental we usually get got booked before we could get our act together. Luckily we found The Farmhouse was available and better than ever before! We actually used to stay here when it was owned by the previous owners and after staying here now I can say there have been many updates, not only in the fixing up of the property, but also in cleaning practices that we greatly appreciated! It was perfect for our large family of all ages, plenty of sleeping spots and room to spread out. The kayaks were great to go out on the beautiful lake and the fire pit was wonderful for circling up at night as a family. The kitchen is wonderful with amazing oven/stove and big refrigerator and plenty of room to sit and eat together. Very responsive and friendly hosts. Can't recommend staying here enough!

We had a great time with our family and friends for a surprise 30th birthday party. We all brought food and utilized the great new cook stove as well as the 2 refrigerators. It was wonderful to have a space where we could all be together as well as to get some alone time if you need it. We enjoyed the outside fire pit, use the grill, and played corn hole in the yard.

The house was great and big enough to accommodate our large group. There are two nice rooms on either end of the house with a TV and fireplace so we were not all on top of each other. The house was very clean, was only a short drive to Sunday River and the owners are nice and very responsive.

This property was a great experience. We were able to enjoy family time in one side of the house while the kids played in the opposite living room! The outside fire pit was great and it overlooked a giant yard for kids to play in. The options for adventures close by made for a nice hike! Very good for large family’s!

This house is beautiful, very spacious. The rooms were all a decent size. There is a lake right down the street, can see it from the house. The host were very responsive. They made us a welcome basket, which was very nice. The house was clean, had clean sheets and towels. The bathrooms where clean as well. I will definitely rent this house again!!!

We had a great time. 15 guys for a golf weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Plenty of beds, bathrooms and space. The fire pit area was beautiful. Would definitely recommend. Craig was great to deal with. Super responsive

The two best features of this property is the fact that everyone had their own bathroom and there were two dishwashers. The kitchen had all the essentials. The two refrigerators were essential. We enjoyed the grill and fire pit.
The family also throughly enjoyed the kayaks. Being so close to the lake was very nice.
Even more important than the things were the hosts. There was an open line of communication. They always responded immediately to any concern or issue.
I would recommend that they get well marked recycle cans. Also post what it is recyclable and what is not. It is different in every state. All of us were from other states as well as Canada. Not sure of the Maine rules.
I do want to thank our hosts for their responsiveness. It was greatly appreciated.

We couldn't have asked for a better property to accommodate our large family. Beds and bathrooms for everybody. A well stocked kitchen, well stocked bathrooms with paper goods plenty of towels, plenty of toys for the kids to play with at the water, kayaks tubes and such. Lovely yard with lots of room for play! The front patio was our favorite place to gather❤ many games/puzzles. Owners we very responsive, helpful and easy to communicate with!!

Our large family (average of 15-20 people) stayed here and this was the best place we've ever stayed. Kayaks were popular, went out every day to the lake/pond that was just steps from the house. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, plus all the dining and living space we needed. The front patio was the meeting ground every evening, with the fire pit going. Weather was perfect, and we explored the small towns, Portland, the Appalachian Trail, and Acadia National Park. Everything was perfect!

We had a group of 3 families and three couples who stayed here and we loved it! It was clean, spacious and had a lot of thoughtful extras (extra soap, spices in the kitchen, games, etc). I would highly recommend and hope to stay there again!

Perfect Place for Group Ski Getaway
Our large group enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were kind and responsive. We loved the large home with plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen was our central gathering place with all we needed to cook and seats for all. The adults enjoyed relaxing by the fire after skiing while the kids had their own space to have fun. The house was sparkling clean when we arrived. We appreciated having bedrooms and bathrooms for all. We would definitely book again.

Loved the Maine Farmhouse at Bryant pond
We rented this property to share with three families. Plenty of room for five adults and nine kids in total. The girls loved having “their own apartment” with the separate entrance. Kitchen was well stocked and we made use of the 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers. Plenty of towels and linens available for all bedrooms and bathrooms. Craig and Michelle were very responsive and accommodating to emails.
The kids loved snow tubing down the hill in the front yard and walking down to the pond. Highly recommend hike to lapham ledge.
We would love to stay here again. We will have to try it out in the summer months.
