About this cottage rental
Sea Star Villa is a side-by-side duplex located just 25 yards from the beach. When renting Sea Star you have access to a bright and open, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable living area, and a half bath located on the upper living level, which opens to an ocean side deck. The villa accommodates up to 6 vacationers with a master suite with a king bed and a queen bedroom that opens to the deck and shares a bath with bunks located in the hallway. Offering all the basics to get you started on your vacation, such as toilet paper and paper towels, we're certain you'll be happy upon arrival. As usual, my vacation time at Lighthouse View was one of great times, beautiful views and fabulous memories. The facility located in Buxton is strategically located to enjoy any and all beach associated activities. Fishing, dining, shopping, exploring and relaxing at the beach or inside the beautiful accommodations makes a vacation to remember.

Upon entering the unit, it was very clean and inviting. The sand from the recent storm was everywhere on the outside but NOT anywhere inside. The hose in the open garage was very helpful to get the salt off the car after each night. Delightful views of the Atlantic from both levels. Upstairs portion is cozy and comfortable with the kitchen so handy. Many TV channels are offered as well. The a/c worked fine. Minor negatives - There was a hole in one of the bathroom doors (it is on schedule to get replaced eventually). Some of the double paned windows are 'blurry' (seal compromised) and need to be replaced. Both levels had very difficult door knobs/locks to operate to get to the balconies. The bottom level knob broke completely at the end of our stay and reported to the front staff. Overall a delightful week and we lucked out with superb weather. We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary with this week and would enjoy doing it for another.

Rooms were clean. Staff Great. Sergio making the effort at night to show us old timers how the function the TV and DVR was much appreciated. His putting together a TV station list was icing on the cake. Front desk was cordial and helpful. Very enjoyable stay.

The location was great. The unit was very musty. The carpet needs a good cleaning. The microwave was hit or miss (sometimes it would work). The light above sink is broken. Because of the mustiness we had to give my 1 year old grandson nebulizer treatments.Chains missing on most of ceiling fans.I would not recommend this property to a friend because of the above problems.

Overall it was a great location right on the beach. The cottage was clean. The laundry service was not the greatest....2 regular sized washing machines could only be used amongst all of the units during a small timeframe and you had to exchange your linens out during a small timeframe as well. The closest laundry facility was an hour if you plan on doing laundry on a regular basis and want clean linens (towels for example) you need to plan accordingly. Also, one of the bedrooms was missing a tv.

Repeat customers for many years. Nice unit, this one was updated recently. Sand can make parking a bit difficult at times. The beach is eroding and not nearly as much as there was a few years ago. Sandbags are now a large part of the beach experience.

This is a cozy cottage very close to the ocean. The front bedroom opens out onto the lower balcony and the upper balcony is off the living room. There is dedicated parking underneath for one car but it can be difficult to get into with sand dunes and other cars parking nearby. The property does bring in equipment to shovel the sand back as needed. Overall very clean, dishes were what we needed other than a strainer for pasta. Property next door was occupied while we were there but barely heard them so walls are thick enough for privacy. They do provide linens and keep them wrapped so you know they are clean. One suggestion I would have would be to also wash blankets and bedspreads in same fashion. Was not sure if those had been washed between visits. Also suggest a blanket to be provided for twin beds in addition to bedspreads. Both bedrooms had extra blankets but twins did not. Not a huge issue as the heating/cooling works well. The property staff are always friendly and helpful. This was my second stay on this property and we will certainly be back. You cannot beat the cleanliness and views at this property if you prefer a more laid back spot to stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will return again next year. Parking in 234's garage was sometimes difficult or impossible due to too many vehicles parked in rear of main building. Pick ups should not park there and blocking the walkway at rear of main building should not be permitted. A sign may help as well as removing some of the sand in front of 232 & 234 would help, too. Beach was beautiful and amenities were great.

This is the 8th time we've stayed at LHV. We've stayed in the loft, 1st floor rooms and three of the houses over the years. Can't beat the location and price. Friendly staff. The only downside is the loss of the pool to the back of the property. We no longer use it as it's location takes away from the beachy feel we like.

Overall good experience, because unit is close to the beach, and price is decent. Have been renting same duplex for years, and it is beginning to look pretty run down, though. Hasn't been updated, and could really use it! Dishwasher needs to be replaced. Air conditioning works ok, but there's a musty, mildewy smell coming from the ac vents. Furniture is old and worn. Bed spreads are the same, and should be replaced.

Though I think this will be our last time as the drive from TN is getting to be too much. Too bad because we have enjoyed our stays there. We've been renting the same cottage for many years, and its becoming more and more run down each year. On the positive side, the countertop and sink were replaced in the past few years. However, the place smelled like mildew, and the air conditioning was hard to regulate- if it was comfortable upstairs, it was freezing downstairs. The area underneath the house flooded when it rained, and there were lots of cigarette butts laying about. The rates for next year have increased drastically, and the advance reservation amount is now 10%, and non refundable! We probably won't be back, nor will many of our friends, which is a shame, as we've all been renting from Lighthouse View for 30 + years!!

As in so many past years my stay was highly enjoyable. The excellent location of the motel along with an attentive and professional staff make each and every year I vacation there a highly successful and satisfying stay. I can't wait for next year's vacation to arrive. The accommodations are excellent, clean and attractive. Local restaurants, things to do and see along with other necessary businesses to make a stay fantastic are in very close proximity.
