Laurel Cottage is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The village location is perfect with 2 pubs and a tea rooms and farm shop. There are many walks straight from the door and lots of villages to explore which are a short drive away.
The cottage had everything we needed and a lovely large garden to enjoy.

We wanted somewhere in the village as we attended concerts every evening and it was convenient to be able to walk back. The two pubs are very different but both serve good food and beer, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The cottage is in a quiet lane with little passing traffic, and there are good walks from the doorstep.

We had a fantastic stay as a family of 10.
All aspects of the cottage were furnished to the highest standard and had everything we needed to enjoy the time together.
Communication was great throughout.
Definitely recommend

A simply stunning break. A lovely property which I can't fault, in a stunning part of the country. It was idyllic. Perfectly positioned to explore further afield but equally we enjoyed a few days just in the beautiful gardens and house. Guiting Power is a 2 minute walk away and has all you need for slotting in to village life. Great communication with Kevin the property manager who even allowed us to arrive earlier. Would definitely recommend

Laurel Tree Cottage is ideally situated in the heart of the characterful Cotswold Village of Guiting Power. The spread of accommodation across 3 floors provides spacious rooms - perhaps best suited to families and close friends. The main kitchen and dining area are a little "tight" but adequate for the maximum number that Laurel Cottage can accommodate. The living rooms felt a little dark on dull days and the evenings tho lighting is fine. All beds were "comfy".
Food shops, restaurants, pubs etc are all on the door step for those who want to leave behind the motor car. The old Post Office (scrumptious goodies), The Cotswold Guy (for up market ready meals and lunch time treats) and good local beers and fayre at the Farmers Arms, mean traditionalist are superbly catered for. The network of footpaths from the village is great with large numbers of classic Cotswold walks within a few minutes drive.
A most enjoyable stay.

We had a great stay at Laurel Tree cottage, the house was so spacious for a gathering with friends. We especially loved the kitchen/dining area. We loved exploring the local walks around Guiting power and the cottage is just the perfect base to explore.

What3words - brilliant!
We all loved the cottage! So welcoming and cosy yet super spacious! Lots of lovely seating areas so we could all find somewhere to sit to read, watch TV, play games or even craft!
Beautiful decor throughout! There were lots of oohs and ahs as we spotted the wooden candelabra in the kitchen or the beautiful bowl in the living room .. or the gorgeous burnt orange sofa (my favourite).
Great location .. lovely village a short walk one way, a great walking route the other!
Felt like I’d won the Omaze house lottery!!
Hope to be back next Christmas! Though I think it would be a perfect spot in summer too.

We had a wonderful holiday at Laurel Tree Cottage. The house is fantastic with plenty of room to spread out. We were a big family with ages ranging from 2 to 92. We were able to use the snug as an indoor play area. The decor and furnishings are very beautiful and tasteful. We had everything we needed. It was good to have coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper and oil provided. The bread and butter left for us were delicious. The bedrooms were very comfortable and great bathrooms. It was very thoughtful of the owner to provide stairgates and so many toys for children.
We loved the garden and my grandson enjoyed playing on the swings, slide, trampolene and the little playhouse.
The house is ideally situated to see many of the Cotswolds sights. We had enjoyable meals in the village pubs and the Post Office cafe.
We would love to stay again.

We had a wonderful week here celebrating family birthdays. The house is in a fantastic location with walks from the door. We enjoyed the house, especially the large kitchen and lovely garden including play area. Comfortable beds and beautiful interior.
We did feel that the kitchen needs a larger oven and hob. The Aga was off due to summer, and two rings plus small oven was insufficient to cook for a crowd.
That apart we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I had read other reviews that the cleanliness was not up to scratch so I was prepared (& armed) with cleaning products. It’s a shame that I had to spend time cleaning the house when I should’ve been enjoying it. Most utensils provided & rooms are spacious & homely. Decor is lovely. Needs a deep clean. The beds are a bit creaky! Overall expensive but the house is huge so forgivable, just wish it was cleaner!

Lovely house in a great location with very pretty countryside. We were 11 adult members of a family who live in different parts of the country and the world getting together and celebrating a 86th birthday.Overall we had a lovely stay.
We had an enjoyable meal at the Hollow bottom and those who went to the Post Office cafe were well satisfied too. The weather was not great so we didn't get to explore as much of the countryside around as we would have liked.
The size and configuration of the rooms suited us well but as others have said before, there were a few niggles. The biggest was the cooking amenities for a house for 11 people. If you are not using the Aga, the hob and oven are very small and even boiling pasta and making a sauce at the same time for just six of us on our first evening was tricky. There are lapses such as lack of instructions for appliances such as the Nespresso machine, waste disposal in the kitchen sink etc We also found it difficult to get cold water from the sink tap. A handbook would be very handy.
Other things are a bit tired and shabby such as the wooden bench and chairs in the garden, knobs falling off taps in a bathroom and the sofa in the kitchen/diner. The bedrooms were stuffy at night and maybe doorstops/wedges would help to get some cross ventilation.

We had a fab stay in Laurel Tree Cottage. It’s a beautiful and tastefully renovated cottage that has been extended. It was a lovely location in a charming village and the neighbours opposite (Roland and his wife) were very friendly and helpful. It’s a bit tired in parts and could do with replacing, wooden table and chairs outside, kettle and some kitchen chairs and items. But would thoroughly recommend it for a quiet and peaceful weekend in the Cotswolds.

Great stay at Laurel Tree Cottage. Beautiful house and garden, with everything as expected. Only suggestion for improvement is to be a bit more generous with kitchen staples - e.g. three dishwasher tablets, two bin bags, two kitchen towels feels/is scarce for a 3-night stay with 11 adults (we cooked in all the time expect for a wonderful pub lunch at the Hollow Bottom, highly recommend it!

The cottage is as expected, the pictures online represent it well. We stayed as a group over Xmas and so did not get to enjoy the large and lovely garden much, but it looks fantastic for summer. Rooms are all sweet and well designed. Feels like an old family home that is now rented.
Very few negatives… Parking is tight for 3 cars and so some manoeuvring needed. it would have been appreciated if the basics of food supply were on hand in the cottage, salt/pepper, oil, coffee/tea, milk etc. whilst this is not an essential, it’s super helpful for a high end rental and would have given that extra touch to feel fully cared for.
Regardless, a very enjoyable stay and a lovely cottage in a quiet location, with walking distance to the village shop and two pubs as well as numerous lovely country walks and adventures.

Laurel Tree Cottage is a stunning property, tastefully decorated. It has a beautiful garden with excellent playground equipment for the children. It sleeps 11, and we were a group of seven, including two small children, so we had loads of space. It's a wonderful house for a game of hide and seek!
We appreciated the welcome pack of butter, eggs and sourdough bread from the excellent deli located in the village, we loved the food and ambiance at both the Old Post Office Cafe and the Hollow Tree Inn.
We were disappointed that one of the children found some dirty underwear in their bedroom, and we noticed some other minor cleaning issues, although not enough to spoil our stay.
The occupants of the loft bedroom were alarmed and upset when they opened a window during the first night and a large swarm of (what were identified by the owner the next morning as) cluster flies entered the room. We were told that these are a frequent problem at this time of the year (November). If they cannot be eradicated we would have appreciated being warned about them, as we would have avoided the distress by leaving the window closed.
Surprisingly, given some reviews I have read since returning home, there were only three toilet rolls in the property. Given that neither the village deli nor the Old Post Office sells toilet rolls, we felt this was a serious failing. We had no choice but to drive to Stow (we could have driven to Winchcombe - still 10 minutes each way in the car). There were only three dishwasher tablets for a three night stay. This would have been less inconvenient if we had known in advance. It felt as if the ship had been spoilt for a ha'porth of tar.
In spite of these three issues we had a fabulous time celebrating my 70th birthday at Laurel Tree Cottage and would return, but be better prepared.

worth reading the reviews before arriving - we did, and brought our own towels & cooking ingredients as no food/condiments/drinks on site & tiny towels! Received a lovely goodie bag with eggs, bread etc from the local farm shop. House is comfortable & warm thanks to Aga.

The house is located in a beautiful village with some essential amenities with the pub providing a cosy environment. The post office and the village shop had some lovely delicatessens and all managed by some lovely people.
The house itself was very well kept and everything worked! Very pretty on the outside and tastefully decorated on the inside. The garden was maintained immaculately and the apples on the tree were abundant giving it a very homely feel.

We loved this house. It is situated in a beautiful village with a farm shop, coffee shop, 2 pubs , one of which was a classic old fashioned pub with a traditional skittle alley which we loved. There was also a lovely old church, a play ground and lovely walks from the house.
The house itself is beautiful- a light filled spacious kitchen with a comfy sofa, 2 further living spaces, lovely comfortable bedrooms with good quality bedding and modern bathrooms. We were very comfortable and relaxed and would definitely return.
We loved the outside space, the garden had numerous apple trees, was charming and slightly overgrown in the best possible way. The children ( and possibly the adults too!) loved the trampoline.
Thank you for such a gorgeous stay; we will definitely return.

We stayed for a family gathering for a weekend. The house is excellent and is very comfortable. Two nice pubs within walking distance

We had a lovely stay here my only input to future guests would be that if you want to cook for a large group in the summer months think about requesting the Aga as the cooker and BBQ are both small there was only 5 of us so it was fine however cooking for 11 would be a challenge without the Aga. Apart from this build the property was clean and beautiful and the admin very simple to follow would highly recommend .

We stayed for 5 nights recently to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday!
The cottage size was perfect for 11 of us and our dogs. The gardens are absolutely lovely and our granddaughter loved all the swings, trampoline and little summer house.
The location was perfect, we visited Adam Henson's farm which is 10 minutes away and then Blenheim Palace the next for the Peter Rabbit experience, a 30 minute drive.
We had dinner twice in the Hollow Bottom pub in the village, the food and service was excellent. One other pub the food and service not as good. The post office cafe was also fantastic! Very accommodating and amazing breakfast and pastries.
We had an amazing meal and private dining at The Wild Rabbit which was amazing!
Our slight disappointment was it does need an improvement on the cleaning....the towels yes are small (like other reviews) and we actually drove to Primark to buy some for the girls and granddaughters. We also bought a couple of throws for the sofa in the kitchen. It was nice to have a small welcome pack on arrival which other reviews suggested. Apart from that.....
We absolutely loved out stay xxx

Beautiful home but lacking essentials
The cottage is absolutely beautiful inside and out but strangely it lacks essentials. The owner has a policy to provide essentials such as toilet roll/ dishwasher tablets for the first day of your booking which means you need to go shopping or bring them with you (that's if you know that is the policy which is not stated in any of the information provided) I have never stayed in a rental that has this policy. There are absolutely no basics in the kitchen not a grain of salt/ pepper/ sugar nor a drop of oil, again not something I have ever experienced. The BBQ is a joke and totally unusable for a house that accommodates 9+ people therefore in the summer you only have a 2-ring hob and oven to cook on as the aga is switched off which I wouldn't ask to put on because I would have expected better cooking facilities. The towels provided are very small and threadbare! All board games were removed I imagine because of COVID but this is not necessary anymore. Overall these small but very frustrating issues really irritated me and for the cost of the property really let it down and spoilt the experience. It feels like the house was closed down during COVID and nobody has cared to go in and set the house up for guests. Customer service was helpful and responded when I contacted them and provided more toilet roll and dishwasher products but were unable to help with the other issues.

A beautiful large house in a pretty village, great for families.
Laurel Tree is a lovely, spacious, extended house with tasteful interiors, comfortable beds and two bathrooms with powerful hot showers. We are a large family group comprising 3 generations and ranging in age from 6 to 70 years old who stayed for 2 nights. The village is pretty with 2 nice pubs- we played skittles in the Farmers Arms and had a lovely evening meal in the Hollow Bottom. A great base for exploring the Cotswolds. We did the Crocodile zoo in Brize Norton and the Dragonfly museum in Bourton on the Water both of which we all enjoyed. If there's a minor gripe it's that the house wasn't as clean as it could have been- cobwebs in the kitchen, cleaning residue in the bath, dog hairs under the sofa cushions and the outdoor play equipment covered in spiders webs and bird poo. Also the kitchen equipment and cooking facilities are limited for a house capable of sleeping 11 people and the bbq very small!! Also it lacked the welcome pack we've enjoyed in other properties we've stayed in, which made it feel less special. These could be easily rectified which would make it perfect for a large family gathering /holiday. On the whole a beautiful property which I would recommend to others.

Lovely stay
A lovely stay at Laurel Tree Cottage with friends. However no basic amenities like salt & pepper, tea bags, olive oil/butter to cook which were missed and would be expected with a similar type of stay. Despite this we had a great time, the house is cosy and decorated very well and is in a lovely village with some great walks! Richard was great at communicating and allowing us to leave luggage in the house as we had a lunch reservation. Would definitely return with the hope a few little extra touches like those basic amenities are made!
