I initially thought this was an ideal place for my family (all 60+ individuals) to stay while visiting other family members who also resided in Oakland but, the house was big, hot and dusty and not suited for older adults. Upon arrival the instructions for entering the property were ok and we entered with no problem. When we opened the door the home was extremely hot and stuffy but had about 10 dirty fans scattered throughout the property and the floors were extremely dusty/dirty. The upstairs, where the extremely low beds were, was the worst. I complained and we were informed that the very big house has NO AIR CONDITIONING and we were to open the screenless windows in order the property to ventilate the cavernous property. We were able to get about 5 hours of sleep before the street turns into a drag race throughfare at night with the starting point at the stop sign right outside the open windows. Then there was NO hot water throughout the whole home. We endured this for 7 whole days . I didn't want to keep complaining knowing that I would be in my own home in my own bed soon. We all agree we would NEVER rent there again.

Nice, large house with a secure gate for parking. Great for a larger group. Comfy mattresses. Just minor, easy fixes… windows didn’t have screens, no AC and small bath towels.

We had one of our party members checked the house and it was filthy! The owner charged our card and VRBO refuse to give us our money back! Awful property, and awful service from VRBO please do not rent share this review!

My husband and I and 4 of our friends stayed in this house for the recent Pearl Jam shows at the Oakland Arena. The drive there was less than ten minutes so it was a perfect location for what we wanted. The neighbourhood where the house is located is a little sketchy but there is a security gate to get into the property and we never felt unsafe. My husband and I stayed in the Master bedroom which was plenty big with a gigantic walk in closet and an enormous bathroom, which has a stall shower and a large jacuzzi tub (we did not use the tub). There are two other decent sized bedrooms upstairs and there is a bed with a trundle in the hallway. There is also another full bathroom. Downstairs is another bedroom and a bathroom. The kitchen is a good size with a small stackable washer/dryer which came in very handy. Everything we used was in good working order. Others have commented about the lack of towels. We found that there were enough towels for our group but they were not bath sized towels. I am of average build and I was unable to wrap the towel around my body. Some of the white towels look like the free towels that my gym provides in the locker rooms. An investment in a set of bath towels from Target, Costco or Walmart would easily improve this issue. The only other negative issue was the unbearable heat upstairs. The window in the master bedroom did not open and although there were fans provided, they did little to improve the situation. It was simply too hot upstairs, even on days where it was chilly outside. If we were able to open the window in the bedroom it would have made a dramatic difference. There was no air circulation at all. Downstairs was very comfortable and cool. If not for the two aforementioned negatives, this would be a 5 star review.

The place had plenty of space for the seven of us and was located close to the things we wanted to see. We had a fun week and were glad that the home was centrally located. Lamentably, as stated in a prior review, the house did not have enough towels. The towels as well as the washcloths in the home were dirty. The kitchen island was dirty and had food dried on it. There was one sponge for cleaning dishes which smelled sour. There were no hand towels in the kitchen or the bathrooms. Many of the dishes were dirty with dried food. There is a dishwasher, but no washer soap. There were knives but no cutting board. There are not enough forks and spoons for seven people. The tubs and showers were dirty and had hair all around. The house has an unpleasant musty smell and we used a candle all week to try to help. The heater did not push any air upstairs so it was a bit too cool in the bedrooms by morning. The upstairs windows did not all open and in the afternoon when the rooms got too warm there was no way to get fresh air. The windows that did open, did not have screens. Although there are plenty of beds, there are not enough pillows. Because some of the upstairs windows don't open, the rooms were a bit stuffy when you went to bed. Then the lack of heat meant they were cold by morning. When we first opened the trundle beds we found partially used water bottles. If the place had adequate linens and were cleaned well in between guests, I would rate it much higher. We really did enjoy our stay despite these problems.
