Welcome to Penticton Lodge, an AvantStay home!
As you walk up to this home the first thing noticed is the expansive wrap-around large decks with breathtaking views of the mountains. Through the front door, you will find an impressive entry & great room with vaulted cathedral ceilings, slate flooring, massive log beam accents, floor to ceiling fireplace, and a two-story wall of glass to take in the views. The open floor plan bridges the great room and kitchen together with breakfast bar seating allowing flow and interaction between those preparing meals and friends in the great room. The chef's kitchen is fully equipped with the latest upgrades and stainless steel appliances as well as a pantry and separate wet bar area. A cozy dining nook with access to the front and rear decks allows guests to view the mountains while dining and conversing with the entire party. Three bedrooms are master suites, one on the main floor, two on the third floor. The fourth bedroom has been converted to a game room but has lots of sleeping to accommodate 7-8 kids or a few adults with bunk beds, pullout mattresses, and futons. The spacious upper Primary Bedrooms have vaulted ceilings, gas log stoves, and view balconies with amazing views to wake up to. A large third-floor loft overlooks the living area. This home also features a hot tub, the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.
ENTRY-LEVEL:
The main floor includes the great room, kitchen, dining, Primary Bedroom with ensuite, floor-to-ceiling windows, and access to all the decks.
SECOND FLOOR:
Up a flight of stairs from the great room, you will reach a large open loft with vaulted ceilings. Great place to read a book or getaway from the group. Two more spacious Primary Bedrooms are on this level with vaulted ceilings, a private ensuite, and private decks with views.
FIRST FLOOR:
that has been converted to a game room with sleeping accommodations for 2-4 people (bunk bed and futon)

Overall the cabin is beautiful, clean, and very good location

Fun place. A little dated but well loved. We are a family of five (mom, dad, two kids, and an au pair).
Rooms were spacious and the log cabin feel was great. Amazing views of Big Bear and Snow Summit from most common areas of the house. A few items would make this five stars.
- No salt or sand to help with ice. Made areas near entry slippery and dangerous. It snowed 5” 4 hours before we arrived.
-Toilet in one of the rooms wasn’t cleaned prior to us checking in and was kind of gross.
- No tissues in the entire house. Lots of TP but it’s the cheap kind that you don’t want to use on your nose unless you want it torn up.
- No can opener. A lot of basic things if you’re going to cook were either hard to locate or missing entirely. Coffee was found in laundry room after texting rental folks.
- No trash bins or recycle that we could locate to throw away trash bags during visit to limit any smell in the house of prior day’s fun or diapers from our 2 year old.
- Some things in the house didn’t work well but are probably normal for an older home. Maintenance was happy to come out and help though (fixed a loose shower handle and a broken tub drain plug).
Overall we’d stay again but would love for some items to be a little more dialed in.

Lovely house, well-kept and very clean. Lots of places to sleep, with nice sheets, extra blankets, and room to stretch out or find a spot of privacy if needed. There is plenty to do from ping pong to spa time in a luxe environment that is commensurate with the cost of stay.
One note: If you plan to cook, bring everything you will need, even for coffee. No olive oil, no coffee filters, etc. The pan selection is not good (we were cooking for 11 and needed to cook in batches due to limited pans, no wok, etc.), and the cookie sheets, oven mitts, and kitchen towels are in poor shape, and definitely bring extra paper towels ... some were provided, but ours were wet.
Note, our group *loves* to cook and these things may not be an issue for folks who prefer going out.

We stayed here with one other family (total 4 adults, 5 kids) for a ski trip and were very happy with the property as well as Avant Stay, the management company. The property is on a huge lot that allowed us to sled and tube in the backyard as well as lots of snow play areas. The home had lots of attention to detail with a large hot tub (8 ppl easily), ping pong table, pool table, cornhole and plenty of seating inside and outside. The views were extraordinary, spanning the ski slopes of both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. This was my first time staying with an Avant Stay managed property and they provided many more amenities (i.e. handsoap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner in every bathroom, plenty of towels etc) than your typical rental property. I would highly recommend this amazing property for a multi family getaway!!

This property was stunning and was perfect for our family trip. We had to pickup the keys in downtown Big Bear which was a little extra time, but the process was very seamless.
The kitchen was amazing and we loved the pool/hang-out room downstairs as the noise did travel throughout the house on the ground and top floor.
We loved this stay and will definitely go back!

My husband and I took 8 teenagers to Big Bear for the weekend and stayed at this property. It was incredible! There was enough space for everything, great set up and gorgeous.

The house was absolutely beautiful and able to accommodate our family well. Loved the modern log cabin feel of this home and gorgeous views of the ski resorts. The house was clean and plenty of space for our extended family. We had a wonderful time!

This house was great in many ways. The location is ideal because it is in a very safe and upscale neighborhood and close to a gas station, grocery stores, the Village and the Alpine Pedal Path. I also appreciated that whenever we had a question about the house or suggestions for activities, an answer was always given right away.
The house is very spacious with plenty of beds and bathrooms. We loved the high ceiling and large windows that provide a fantastic view. The wrap around porch is also a plus. The game room downstairs is a fun place to hang out and we enjoyed using the pool table. The only minor issue is that the pictures of the house did not include a picture of the hot tub even though it is listed in the description of the house. Before we arrived, I asked if this house had a hot tub and was told it did not have one. However, on our second day, we discovered that the house does have a beautiful hot tub below the deck in the yard. One other suggestion is to perhaps put in a soft mattress topper in the King size beds?
Overall, we really enjoyed staying at this house!!

An unwinding stay for a few days a short drive away
Absolutely loved our stay, so well maintained and clean,. Also very spacious and well equipped. Great location with fantastic views of the slopes and the starry sky. Located in an upmarket quiet neighborhood and close to conveniences like supermarkets and coffee shops and restaurants. The property manager is a just a text away and very responsive. We had an issue with the fridge not cooling and they had someone over almost immediately fixing it.
We definitely plan to stay here again and will definitely be recommending to our friends and family.

Everything We Had Hoped For
I had a tough group to please and accommodate, 7 people in total, 4 vehicles and a trailer. It also needed to have privacy, be really clean and have a view. We had my 86 year old grandfather, my in-laws (late 60's), my parents (late 50's) and my husband and I (40). We had a jeep, an suv, a truck, an old bronco and a trailer (used to tow the bronco). The driveway had plenty of room and we didn't even need to use the garage but we did. The trailer fit easily on the side of the house and the driveway wasn't too steep. With the higher elevation, the stairs were pretty tough for gramps so the main floor bedroom made the most sense for him. Luckily the bed was a queen so I didn't feel bad sticking the parents with a small bed. The in-laws and my parents took the 2 rooms on the 3rd floor, both had king sized beds, one had a walk in shower and the other a tub shower combo. My husband and I took the lower level which is probably best suited for the kids with a bunk bed, futon, couch and a multi-game table. It was the coldest room in the house but they had extra sheets and blankets. This house allowed everyone to have their own space and privacy especially important are the 5 bathrooms, but the communal space was open and comfortable when we did gather together. I personally appreciated that linens were not worn, the towels were nice and white and fluffy, had plenty of toilet paper in each restroom, plenty of paper towels for the kitchen, dish soap, hand soaps, etc....we did not feel we lacked anything and everything was clean. Cleanliness is super important for this group and everyone was pleased. We would most definitely come back to this house with the same group or maybe even friends next time....actually I hope to find a reason to come back to this house. It worked out splendidly.

Amazing relaxing weekend
We had such a great time at this house. It was absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and very comfortable bedrooms and accommodations. The gas wood-burning fireplace in the bedrooms were not working but the main fireplace was so it wasn’t a big deal. It was so nice, wish we could’ve stayed longer. The management company was really great with responding to concerns.

Beautiful property. They need to invest a bit more into the details. Bed didn’t have a comforter cover on. Lack of clean towels and pillows. Overall a wonderful place to spend time in the snow and the management was very helpful.
