This house was perfect for our extended family vacation. The house is very old but the owners made a lot very nice improvements. You can tell there are more things to do though. Communication was not that great but they were very nice when we did hear from them. Super easy check in

Excellent location for a group stay! We were able to sleep 9 people comfortably and host a dinner for about 30 friends. Highly recommend!

Huge beautiful old home with lots of room. Lovely grounds. Easy access to area attractions.

The house was gorgeous with such incredible history as soon as you drive into the highway, just a majestic entrance. All our guests would say, "What is this place?" - if walls could speak. The house was super clean and things were easily to find. We only did a quick overnight but definitely intend to use the space again in the future.

The property is a vintage home that needs more TLC. We loved the vintage feel but the property grounds were not groomed. Ladders, work material and hoses were just lying around the property or against the house. Porch is falling down and in need of a new floor. Was dangerous for elderly or children. Ramp for handicap did not have a clear path and we had to practically carry my mothers chair to get to the ramp and then they had debris around the ramp. Inside is a work in progress. Kitchen and bathrooms were very nice but the bedrooms were in need of repair All carpet areas were dirty with large stains everywhere. The host was unwilling to listen to my concerns and said if we did not like the property we could leave. Very bad situation since we had many out of town guests staying. We did end up staying because the owner would not offer any money back! Overall not the wonderful experience we expected. Renter beware.

There was no need to leave the property. The house was so large, everyone had her own bedroom with a couple left vacant. We felt at home, it was welcoming. The kitchen had all we needed. We did not need to use our bottled water we brought because the host provided it for us. We did not need to use the paper products we brought because there were nice dishes and flatware in the kitchen. The kitchen is modern and comfortable. We enjoyed watching movies in the family room and playing card and board games. We ate in both kitchen and the small dining room but did not need to use the formal dining room. The grounds were nice and kept. We took lots of photos. I love the master bedroom and the master bathroom. Thanks for helping to make our retreat for the women a success. They had a great time and we hated to part company on Sunday afternoon.

8 sales reps, 24 planning session. Great location for territory planning and close UBER to Casino for some PM entertainment!

The house was built in 1905 so has to be a ton of stories to tell. Great room, the amenities were spot on, house is going through a revamping stage but overall it’s a really cool house. We had a great get together for our sons wedding with most all of our family from California, Texas, and Tennessee. Had a great time, would definitely do it again.

Our family - 15 people and 3 generations - gathered for a weekend. The house was perfect. Wonderfully updated kitchen, plenty of bedrooms with comfortable beds, spacious rooms, beautiful woodworking throughout the house, a wrap around porch, and a yard to play in. The owners were easy to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and their hospitality.

We celebrated my husband's retirement from the Navy and had our large extended family stay here with us for a long weekend. It was a perfect place for all of us to gather, share meals, drink coffee on the beautiful wrap around porch, and talk around the fire pit in the back yard. Brandon and Tiffany were excellent hosts, very good with communication and even gave us a sweet treat for the whole family upon our arrival. The house has so much character and has everything you need for your stay. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Like many have said, it's going to be fantastic when it's fully renovated. Great size for a family reunion which was what we rented it for. Upsides: great kitchen, lots of space for eating and hanging out, nice bathroom renovations, pretty property with nice garden; cool old house charm and detail. Downsides: leaky roof with plaster landing on stained carpet, no shades or drapes on huge bedroom windows mean no privacy or sleeping past 6am; inconsistent bedding (some beds very comfortable, some not); some doors don't latch at all or stick closed. Gas grill but no gas tank. Mention of welcome gift that wasn't there?
Overall, neat house, neat concept, just needs a bit more attention to some of those details. If you've already booked this place, no worries, just bring temporary shades and some additional comforts of home, and it's workable. Just wish we had known more about the persnickety details going it.

We were attending a major event in Newport News and found the Feagin's spot -- a ways off our path, but not too far. The house interior and exterior are a mix of old and new, big and cozy, classic and modern. With this much history, it's always going to be a work in progress. The hosts were generous, thoughtful, and quick to respond to our needs. Thank you very much.

This home is BEAUTIFUL! The owners were wonderful to work with and made the whole VRBO experience very easy.

Where do I begin, as I see the beautiful daffodils and butterflies in my rear view mirror - I am instantly brought to tears. Not one single thing could have been better. Excellence, Integrity and Humility are obvious Pilar’s to the foundation of this venue! We rented this estate for our wedding and as well as the VRBO stay for our out of town family. From the beginning of the process at the Coastal Weddings Expo where i first met Brandon to the last day of our stay where I said goodbye to Tiffany… not one moment was anything other than EPIC. They have an amazing house with beautiful taste in decor. The grounds are absolutely covered with flowers and the trees that we had our ceremony under showered little white flowers as the wind blew. Butterflies flew in a circle playing tag with dragonfly’s over our heads. The trees, the bushes the flowers all in full bloom with nothing but glory to view. The amazing space allowed for us 12 to stay the weekend and make memories. My wedding was no stress for us because we chose to use it for our stay as well so we set up on Friday and took down on Monday. ANYTHING that you could ever think or ask… Boom Tiffany was there with a quick response. Her attention to detail along with Brandon’s hard work makes this venue shine! THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM IN PORTSMOUTH. The hosts are extremely kind, professional, attentive, spotless, creative, accommodating, easy to work with, very communicative- offering so much for each space. Truly Enchanting is an understatement for what my guests and I experienced. I can not find one single thing to critique. I’m a psychologist and analyst. I problem solve after finding and diagnosing a problem. I could not find one single problem to reflect on this review. I can only say that for every single function work or personal because I live in Virginia Beach- i will be recommending this site. I have already given the 411 on this venue to 23 people and I am checking out right now! :):)

This is a wonderful piece of property. I will be looking for something similar to buy. We had different age ranges staying and none of them had anything bad to say about the property. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Excellent job Brandon!!

Our family traveled to the Portsmouth area for our daughter's wedding. There was plenty of room for all of us (5 families). The kids loved the hidden stairs and exploring the outside areas. Lots of memories were made. Brandon and Tiffany were amazing hosts. We had to find a place at the last minute for the bridal party to gather after the rehearsal. Brandon and Tiffany were very accommodating and allowed us to host everyone at the house. We can't wait to visit again.

We rented this property for our wedding party and their significant others. The property was perfect. Plenty of space for everyone to sleep and hangout. The bonus kitchen on the 3rd floor was really handy. Brandon and Tiffany were fabulous. Easy to communicate with via the the app. They were at the house when we arrived and were very friendly and welcoming. They showed us around and told us the history of the property. The house reflects its 115 year old charm. It was a wonderful experience and we plan to come back!

My family & I booked this property to gather for my daughters wedding weekend. This house was very spacious and was a complete hit to the family. The host and his wife was so accommodating while sharing their home with us for such a special event. The rooms were large and everyone enjoyed our time there. Thanks for being apart of a memorable weekend.

Historic charm and character
Historic charm and character here. What a House and property! Great to be close to the city but have your own sanctuary for a work trip with colleagues or a family trip to have everyone stay and have enough room.
Enjoyed the house layout, property and hanging out on the massive porch.
Brandon, the host was accommodating, personable and went out of his way to prepare the house with goodies for our arrival.
Definitely coming back!
