*NEW 7-seater Viking Spa Hot Tub installed May 2024!*
Welcome to The Wren's Nest, hosted by Carolina Mountain Vacation Homes, where you will have the opportunity to experience one of the most majestic and tranquil mountain views in all of Maggie Valley! This beautiful home sits on Cataloochee Mountain in a private neighborhood off Fie Top Road at an elevation of 4,300 feet and is only 2 minutes to the Cataloochee Ranch and Ski Resort.
Built in 2008, The Wren's Nest is a two-level contemporary home with something for everyone. On the main floor is a large business office with computers, computer chairs, and a printer, gourmet kitchen with a smart TV, living room w/floor-to ceiling wood-burning fireplace, large dining room, and a king bedroom with huge en-suite bathroom and smart TV as well as a separate entrance to the hot tub sitting on the main deck overlooking the mountain view. There is a full guest bathroom next to the kitchen. Down the hallway from the kitchen is a small deck with a firewood rack and a gas grill (firewood and gas are provided) as well as another larger covered deck with a table for outdoor dining. A fully furnished BONUS room is available above the garage with 3 twin beds (see picture). For more details on the bonus room, please read the bottom of this description.
The lower level has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, a small wet bar complete with microwave and mini fridge, large entertainment living room with a smart TV, a 12' shuffleboard table, and a private deck. We have a flat driveway, and you enter the house on the second (main) level, so you don't have stairs or a steep driveway when bringing in groceries and luggage. You also have access to the giant 2 car garage! There is enough parking, including the garage, for 6-7 cars.
A cascading mountain stream runs down one side of the property with an adjacent hiking trail nearby. A new Fire Pit sits in the garden behind the house with seasonal flowers and trees that help attract the multitude of hummingbirds that make Wren’s Nest their home during the summer months. In addition, the extremely rare Appalachian cottontail rabbit can routinely be found year round munching on grass in the front yard.
High-Speed WIFI will support zoom calls, streaming, and all your other business/personal needs!
**Please note that the bonus room is an additional one-time fee of $125. It is a fully furnished room above the garage with it's own entrance inside the garage. If the bonus room is not selected, it will remain locked, leaving room for 10 guests in the main house.**

Great stay! We were there for 28 days and did not want to leave. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need. The view is unbeatable!

Absolutely beautiful place with amazing views! The temperature was so comfortable compared to Louisiana in June, a great respite from the heat at home. The creek down the road was a huge hit with our kids and dogs. The house was big enough for us to spread out in with all 11 members of our family. Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation!

This house was perfect for our ski trip to Maggie Valley. The lay out worked extremely well for 2 families. The kitchen is well stocked and the pots and pans were updated and clean. The ski slope is literally only a 5 min drive which made our commutes very smooth. The house truly had everything we needed. The bonus room was a pleasant surprise as well. Thank you for a wonderful trip and precious memories. And the managing company was fabulous as well.

House was perfect! Located close to everything and well equipped with everything you need. The views were awesome and we enjoyed the hot tub and firepit after a spending the day or evening on the slopes. Would love to plan to stay at this home again!!

The pictures are accurate. This home is beautiful, and the views really are unbelievable. We spent most of our time on the top floor enjoying the view from there. All of the seating is cozy and the beds were comfortable. One note to future guests - when they tell you to arrive during daylight, you really should. Our schedule did not allow for that, and it was terrifying trying to drive through the dark and fog up the steep, winding road to this house. The house was not lit at all and we struggled with getting parked and into the home. It was much easier the next day, and we did not have that same intense fog again during our stay.

This place has the most spectacular views in autumn!!! My husband and I came here for a much needed fall respite and boy did it deliver and then some!!! This home is absolutely welcoming, comfortable and beautiful in every way… we enjoyed every second we were here, as well as the tapestry of fall colors amongst the mountains… felt like a King and Queen on top the mountain. Would love to bring our family back next time.

COUSIN WEEKEND
The property and house was beautiful. Very well stocked. I think the fees was to much for what is expected of you when you leave. I have been renting houses & condos for over 40 years. I have never had to wash & put away the dishes, I have only had to load the dish washer & start it. I have only had to strip the bed, never put them into the machine & start washing them.
We loved the home, just think the fees are to much.

Stunning house!
This house and the surrounding views are gorgeous. Pictures don’t do them justice! The house is spacious, clean, and very welcoming. The hosts truly have included all the little touches - we had everything we needed. The master bedroom suite is on the main floor, and there are three bedrooms and a comfortable den on the lower level. Both the main and lower levels have beautiful views of Maggie Valley. The drive up is steep and we had snow in mid-April, but with AWD we made it up fine. This house is perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature! Our hosts made everything easy, too - it was a wonderful stay!

Not what we expected
There was a forest fire on the mountain a mile from the property which burned all day and night and made it impossible to be on the deck or enjoy the 2 man hot tub for the first couple days. The last day of our 5 day stay on April 8, snow flurries came in and we had decided to leave a day early so we did not get snowed in as there was another group coming in and the steep hills, curves, and switchback are a little nerve-wracking, especially if there is weather. Understand that the 4wd requirement is until April 30th not April 1. No refund for the day we had to leave, so be sure to check what you are signing. Nice home but not what we expected.

Gorgeous Property
We visited this property for my husbands 50th birthday. We were blown away by how beautiful it was. The only this more beautiful than the house was the view. The house had the most breathtaking view which was able to be seen by every room in the back of the house. We enjoyed everything about our stay and hope to come back someday.

Perfect Family Getaway!
The Wren's Nest was absolutely beautiful!! The view from the back deck was picturesque, the house was immaculate and there was plenty of room for the 11 of us. Excellent Location for skiing!
We loved our stay at the Wrens nest! The space was great for our large group of family and friends. The biggest surprise was how close it was to Cataloochee... the online description said only 2 miles, but I don’t think that really portrayed how convenient it was… It was easy for us to drop people off and pick up as needed!

Fantastic location for skiing
We had a fantastic trip to the Wren’s Nest. The house is perfectly located. 5 min to ski slopes and 10 min to snow tubing in town. The house is so clean, spacious and fully stocked to cook at home. Gorgeous views. Owners easy to work with and very responsive. We will definitely return here.

Beautiful Home in the Mountains
My wife & I stayed here for 4 nights as a little COVID getaway. The owner, Judy, was easy to contact and very friendly. The property is well-maintained, clean, and has beautiful views of the Mountains. We used the home for relaxation and a home base for a few day trips into Asheville. I would definitely recommend this home if you are looking to stay in the area.

Breathtaking views!!
Our family spent 5 days soaking in nothing but the views! The listing photos do no justice!! Check in was extremely easy..the kids loved playing outside..it was very “homey”. The only issue we ran into was allergies. The owners must have a cat or two who roam.. myself and one of our sons are extremely allergic and we had a few reactions just from sitting on the couches.. Just wish that was disclosed as it was pretty uncomfortable at times.. other than that, it was a perfect get away.
