Quatermains is an incredibly personal and immersive safari experience. The staff and guides are exceptional and due to only having a maximum of six guests, you will immediately feel part of this family run adventure.
The tents are superb in giving the 1920's experience with fanatastic comfort. (The individual tents now come with a wood fired hot tub!!!!). The safari and guides ensure you will not be short of big game animal viewings, all in a well equipped comfortable safari vehicle. The owners have ensured you will get the best overall autentic experience you could ask for.

An absolutely fantastic game lodge - if you want to have a real wildlife experience. Clean, comfortable and rustic. Staff was great. Food was great. Tour was great. wildlife was great. Everything great. We hope to come back with our kids...
I was overwhelmed by the service and everything else. So NOTHING.

we loved everything - from our arrival up to our last breakfast. The staff was extremely nice, they know your name, diet, … felt super welcomed. You can tell that Julie and Riaan love this place and take very good care of it. Julie was very helpful, even months before our arrival she made sure we were fully prepped to stay at their camp. The tents are very nice, very comfortable and you even get a hot water bottle to stay warm at night! We had 3 game drives and decided to do the walking safari with Riaan (so knowledgeable!) on our last day. The rangers are so friendly and very respectful to the wildlife. We got to see all the beautiful animals, including lions with their cubs, and we learned so much along the way! We loved the whole family vibe and can only recommend this place. You will not regret coming here. ❤️
nothing to dislike!

This was an experience we will never forget it was everything we were looking for. We were with a really great bunch of ppeople and the staff were excellent. One of our group visit different parks all over Africa and she told us that this was one on the best. I would not go and stay in the lodges the experience we got was something you could not get from a lodge location

This was the highlight of our South African holiday! The staff were amazing - so knowledgeable and loved their job. We enjoyed their company so much. We loved being in a tent rather than a luxurious game lodge. It seemed more authentic. We saw all the animals we wanted to see. We enjoyed our 3 trips in a vehicle and loved our walking safari with Riann. We learnt so much. It was lovely coming back to a big breakfast after being on safari for 4 hours. Enjoyed our evening chats with the staff and other guests and drinks and evening meal. We cannot recommend this highly enough. It was two days of our life that was absolutely wonderful!
Absolutely nothing.

This Game camp is back to nature, no electric, they only has solar, they will charge your phone, but may take a while,
the tents were very good, beds comfy, the ensuite is open to the elements, a good shower, there's a mini bar, but I didn't use it, the Game dives were excellent, and guides had a good knowledge
The food was very basic, not a lot of imagination although I never left the table hungry

A picture perfect camp on a fantastic game reserve. The camp was exactly as sold which is exactly what we wanted - rustic but homely and comfortable. You get multiple chances for drinks (alcoholic and non) and 3 meals a day which are very tasty. From start to finish we were made to feel welcome by the whole team who clearly love their jobs and are very passionate about conservation and all things nature.
Our guides Lungi and Yohan were both incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Riaan’s bush walk was a particular highlight - what this man doesn’t know, isn’t worth knowing!
We have all done safari before in different parts of Africa but all agreed this was the best experience we’ve ever had and will definitely look at coming back in the future.

I loved the feeling of being in the REAL Africa… like I really was in a 1920’s safari camp! I loved the staff.. so knowledgeable, friendly and kind. ..I felt like I was staying with friends. The safaris were EXCELLENT! Not only did I see lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hippos and rhinos, I learned a great deal about the animals and the environment.
The only very minor thing that could be improved upon was the coffee. It would have been great to have a cup of brewed coffee in the morning. Other than that, everything was perfect!

The special birthday cake was most appreciated. Thank you for a memorable stay.

We were away from the crowds and a very personal experience as there were just three tents and our party of friends occupied them all. Riaan and his staff were excellent and ensured that every aspect of our stay was fantastic.
Being away from roads, traffic and lights which would detract from the quiet and we could hear all the noises of the bush which was a fantastic experience.

one of the guides, while knowledgeable, was intolerant of other opinions and this created tension over dinner.
