When we first got there, it was a little bit of a shock because there was one chair where abouy10 pillows had been thrown and set of pink weights in the middle of the room. It was exceptionally hot as well. Once we got air into the home and moved the little weights, it was fine. We just left the pillows stacked because we didn’t use that chair. The beds were comfy and the kitchen served its purpose. We did expect there to be access from the house to the water and that was not the case. I think this should be better explained. But we made it work by finding the public access to put our kayaks.
Vacasa was great to work with and very responsive.

We stayed with our two grandchildren. The location was quiet and peaceful . We loved walking down to the water, using the fire pit for making s’mores, and stargazing at night. The house was clean and comfortable. Not far from Acadia and Bar Harbor. The only thing we didn’t like was leaving! We wished we could have stayed all summer!! But we made wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing your home.
4.7
House served its purpose but wouldn’t book it again because everything about it is old and dated. We did not realize there wasn’t a washer and dryer. That was our fault, but keep that in mind.
4.7
Very peaceful, comfortable furniture, well furnished. Central locations for other activities in northern Maine.
4.7
Amazing views by day and starlite sky by night! Loved the campfire!
Everything was clean and listing was accurate.
A bit hard to find.
Location was great for driving to Acadia and Bar Harbor.

The property is well built , quite well furnished and in a nice location.

Very peaceful and private location. Loved the clean windows and deck overlooking the waterfront view. We were tucked in a pine and mossy woods yet only 15 minutes from a major grocery store. This definitely outweighed the various negative points we experienced: When reserving the property, I failed to notice that there were no laundry amenities on the property and I had to make two trips to the laundromat. We had a disabled family member with us and we didn’t know about the entry involving a number of outdoor deck steps (that are rather slippery when wet). Although it has a fireplace in the listing, the posted house rules stated it was not to be used. The house was lacking in stocked paper products. It had four rolls of TP and a half roll of paper towels when we arrived. (But there was a nice supply of dry wood for the fire pit.) And perhaps a big factor, for some, the upstairs bedroom had no door for privacy, and was part of an open loft connected to the main living area.
4.7
Overall it was a very nice stay, the house was pretty well stocked. The location was peaceful and far enough away from everything that we could vacation during the day and relax at night. The fire pit was a nice touch and everyone enjoyed it. Acadia and Bar Harbor were a reasonable trip and we enjoyed some time there. We also drove out to Fort Knox, don't miss doing that
We would absolutely stay here again however there were a few issues with the property that should be noted It gets warm during the day, so if your going to be at the house during the day be mindful of that with no AC. The brush in the back was overgrown and we had a mosquito issues for our stay, it should of been mowed. The trash bags that were provided were too small and flimsy and did not fit the trash bin. There are 2 cameras in the driveway that seem to monitor our coming and goings. Finally and probably most important the listing indicates a coin washer and there is not one so the amenities should be corrected. Again we would stay again but there were issues that should be addressed.

Rogers Rock was everything we could have asked for. Very cozy and and clean and perfect for 4 adults. Beautiful views and close to all the parks and restaurants. I would highly recommend this home away from home. We would definitely come back.

Just book it! We went back and forth deciding on a last minute place to stay and this place was definitely the one to go with! It’s welcoming and cozy when you arrive after a long drive. The fireplace was lovely! It’s so spacious! The views of the lake and surrounding wooded area are jaw dropping and peaceful. It was just what our family needed! The house was stocked with everything you could need for cooking, etc. We did bring our own firewood bought on the way in. We saw seals swimming in the early morning and so many birds to see with the binoculars provided! Tons of games to play too! The rock ledge area was beautiful but do be careful as it can get slippery but don’t let that deter you it can still be enjoyed easily and you don’t have to go all the way out to the rocks to see the views. The moon was right above us and lit up the lake and the sunrise is so worth getting up to see! One of the most beautiful sights ever! Acadia Park was in reasonable driving distance and it was great to not be in the crowded parts of town. We were very close to the Schoodic Peninsula and went there first. It is worth it and was our favorite part of the park. It’s not crowded and has stunning views!

The home was beautiful, it was clean and very well stocked. We enjoyed the mornings and the fabulous view. The home was spacious and comfortable. We had the opportunity to use the fire pit and have some excellent family time. We especially enjoyed the nearby restaurant Helen's the food and staff were amazing!
4.7
Great for all ages! The kids enjoyed hours of exploring the rocks and tidal pools. Great places for adults to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine on the deck or down on the rocks. And gathering around the fire pit after a day of hiking the trails in Acadia was wonderful! We recommend this home!
4.7
The home had all needed amenities for our family. We found it to be clean and comfortable. One very hot night so bedroom ceiling fans would be a great addition in light of climate change.
4.7
I loved this location! Most of the description was accurate. But there is no air conditioning and you really can’t just walk out to the water/rocks from the yard - house worked perfectly for the four of us! Thank you!
4.7
The house was perfect for our family of four. It had everything we needed. We loved being able to walk down to the water and look over the bay. Good location to amenities like a Walmart or home Depot. Drive to Acadia wasn't too long and we seemed to be just out of the tourist area for quiet.
4.7
Thank you to the Bacon / Fox family for sharing their little bit of heaven! Views of the lake, a fire pit, gorgeous moss-covered lawn all made for a peaceful oasis after a day in Acadia National Park. Idyllic. And the comfortable layout and amenities in the cabin were spot-on for our family of five adults. We will be back on our next marvelous Maine getaway!

We will say that overall this was a good stay. Please note that if you're staying here and plan to visit Acadia daily you should plan on driving at least 45 minutes to Bar Harbor (+/- depending on where you're going). The road to the house is all gravel, thankfully it didn't rain much during our stay but it would've been interesting if it had (there are some steep parts in the drive out) and I don't think this was mentioned in the description. It was closer to 35 minutes to Cadillac during our off-season stay. There's a Hannaford's nearby for essentials and Ellsworth is 15-20 minutes away for more. If you plan on using the fire pit bring wood and everything you need to light it. We didn't use the grill so can't comment on that, but there was one available.
Now onto the actual property.
The good:
- Proximity to the water
- Beautiful area near the firepit
- Plenty of towels
- Well-stocked kitchen (utensils, etc.)
- No GPS issues
- Easy check-in
- Spacious living room feel
- The wifi was reliable
The bad:
- Poor communication with the hosting company
- Dirty (The floors had lots of dirt and tiny rocks, they have clearly not cleaned under the beds in a very long time, trash under the beds, the loft walls had lots of cobwebs and lint, the surfaces and lamps on the bottom two floors were very dirty. Remote controls had something sticky? What made it worse is that we were charged a very steep cleaning fee when booking, so we expected a clean house.)
- No hood on the stove (we had to open doors and try to ventilate so the fire alarm would stop going off). Seriously, the stove needs a hood.
- Fees. There's a booking fee for Vacasa, the hosting company as well as a booking fee for VRBO. Ouch!
- Broken chairs that could've caused an injury
- TV is not really useful. If you have kids and want to have something for a bit bring your own DVD's they have a player but there's no cable or local channels and it won't connect to the internet in order to log in to any streaming accounts.

We loved how clean and stocked the home was with what we needed. Would definitely stay here again.
Was a bit to drive to Bar Harbor- so we definitely put in some gas and driving time. But it’s super close to the Walmart and other essential stores in Ellsworth which was nice. Recommend eating at Serendib in Ellsworth! Soooo good. A true gem.

By staying at Roger's Rock, we were able to access many different areas of Downeast Maine. Bar Harbor, Acadia, all the small ports and harbors, Lubec, Quoddy Head, Wreaths Across America Museum, and so much more...then home for a quiet restful night to start the next day!

We had an amazing week at Rogers Rock. The house was a 30 min drive to Acadia where we spent most of our time kayaking and hiking. The deck provided amazing views while grilling and enjoying the fire pit. It was a busy week in the park and Bar Harbor. Allow time to locate parking or bike in. I had to adjust our timing and get up for Sunrise and head in early for access to parking in a few of the more popular climbs and boat launches. Planning ahead; WiFi in the park and some areas on MDI is limited so making impromptu plans will be a challenge. The house has pocket WiFi so make your reservations for Cadillac Mountain early in your week as well as any cruises you may want to take.
Needless to say the week flew by! We are already looking forward to the next time we come to Acadia. NOTE: This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.
