We were delighted with Crow's Nest on the working waterfront of Eastport. We used it as a base to venture out hiking the Bold Coast, and exploring Campobello, St. Andrews, Calais and more. Perhaps one of the greatest aspects was being able to watch the fishing boat activity each morning and evening in the basin.
After venturing out during the day, it was very special to come back and explore fantastic wines in The Phoenix wine shop and enjoy light bites all within the same building. Quiche, cheeses, olives, etc. Yum!
I strongly recommend the Crow's Nest on Eastport's working waterfront as a special place to get away. It was impeccably clean and comfortable, appointed with everything we needed.
We hope to come back soon!

This property was extremely comfortable with very beautiful views of the harbor. All furnishings and appliances were top notch, would highly recommend this loft. Having the brewery and wine bar on site was a bonus. We enjoyed the Waco Diner on Taco Tuesday, delicious 😋.

Laura’s place is beautiful. As a construction/renovation person, I appreciated the great mix of old and new in addition to the plethora of amenities offered. It’s by far the best you’ll find in Eastport-clean, spacious, bright, right in the downtown mix and has wonderful views of the water across to Canada. Also, the hot water is actually hot so baths are nice and the bed is very soft. Being above her wine bar doesn’t hurt (which is also lovely). As others have mentioned, there are a lot of stairs and they are quite steep, so if that’s an issue for you, walk slowly…it’s still worth the trip up there. The only helpful tip I can provide is that there are no blinds or curtains on any of the amazing windows, so if you need dark to sleep (like me), make sure to bring an eye pillow and you’ll be just fine. That whole waking up to the sunrise thing is lost on me. If I ever returned to Eastport, I’d make sure to do it at a time when this place is available because after staying here, I can only imagine how disappointing any other accommodation would be.

We had the most relaxing time staying in the Crow's Nest, perched above historic Eastport. The view doesn't get any better! The apartment is great -- love the open format and large, equipped kitchen. Although we miss Bocephus and Quoddy Bay Lobster, mainstays like the Happy Crab, along with the Phoenix were excellent. Recommend checking out karaoke at the new Cannery restaurant and bar on a Friday night. Can't wait to come back again!

The apartment has an amazing view and you have the benefit of walking downstairs to the lovely wine bar. We had a great time and visited with local friends. We love Eastport!

This rental is a real find. The views are great at anytime of day or night, the loft is very clean and well appointed in a sophisticated style. It is mostly a single large space that feels luxurious. Wonderful deck. Nice kitchen with quality cookware and appliances. Location is excellent, in the heart of Eastport. Lots to see and do within easy walking distance. Fun to watch the operations of the harbor from the deck.
It is a third floor walk-up so be prepared to bring your luggage up some steep stairs. Not air conditioned but we really enjoyed the cool breeze off the water. We were never uncomfortable during our mid-summer stay.
Laura is a great host, easy to communicate with and very helpful. Her wine bar downstairs is great! Check-in was very easy.
Eastport is a delightful town and we'll look forward to returning to Crow's Nest.

The Crow’s Nest apt is in a perfect location in downtown Eastport with a beautiful view over the water and over to Campobello Island. Laura is a gracious host who will inform you about all the wines she has available downstairs at Phoenix Fines Wines, where we also had a glass of the best wine and wonderful cheese board for a light snack and terrific view from a gorgeous sitting room.

The Crow's Nest was just what I needed! I had to work remotely during my stay but it was hardly work as I enjoyed the views. I slept so well and felt like I was at home but without the daily pressures! Located in the heart of down town it's easy to pop out to grab a bite to eat or a drink. To shop or visit galleries. I highly recommend the Crow's Nest!

We stayed five nights at the Crow's Nest just before Memorial Day Weekend. What a great time to visit Eastport. And a wonderful place to stay when you do!
Thoughtfully renovated, Crow's Nest is perfect for a couple's stay. Downtown location with a view of the lobster boats in the breakwater, the Bay of Funday and Campobello Island. What more could you ask?
Convenient road trips to Lubec, Calais, Canada and the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge. So much to see.
And the people of Eastport could not be more welcoming and friendly. We'll be back!

We cannot say enough about our stay at the Crow's Nest. Laura is a treasure - communicative, knowledgable and so fun to share a conversation with. The apartment is spacious, cozy, and has everything you need for a perfect stay - thank you for the warm blankets for our cool nights on the deck! Eastport is equally a treasure - warm and welcoming folks, many of whom we met at a super fun trivia night in the wine bar hosted by Laura. We highly recommend a visit to the Crow's Nest if what you want is simple luxury and spectacular scenery. Cheers!

We had a wonderful stay at The Crows Nest. The accommodations were just as the pictures depicted. A beautiful loft in a wonderfully quaint little city.
We had such a friendly reception everywhere we went. The local residents really helped make our stay even more amazing than I could’ve expected.
Laura, our host was very responsive to all of my questions and I found the loft to be gorgeous and well appointed..
Points to make note of; the sun rises very early, bring eye covers if your sensitive to it. The views are worth the early rise though! The second is the last flight of stairs is steep. It can certainly be maneuvered BUT be cautious about overloading your hands and arms up to the loft. Make the second trip!
Other than that, I highly suggest visiting this area and staying at the loft. It is worth the effort and the extra drive from the airport.
Xoxoxo Eastport! You’re a true gem.

Amazing apartment
This property is beyond great - spacious, stylish, well appointed, very clean, and the view is killer! It is exactly as pictured, but even better in person. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Nespresso machine (way, way better than a Keurig) and washer/dryer were especially nice touches. Laura was very welcoming and made herself available when needed. We will definitely be booking this for future Eastport visits!

Enchanting Eastport at Laura's
This was positively the best vacation I have had. Travelling solo for the first time ever -- Laura's haven in Eastport was perfect setting. Not only was the loft stunning and spotlessly clean --it contained all the amenities one needs. Also Laura's instructions about the space and the neighborhood was very helpful. I want to send out a special Thank You to Melissa, who was so friendly and helpful in making sure I felt safe and secure the first night I arrived there quiet late; she stayed on the phone with me till I was able to locate the right door and get upstairs to the place.
Laura is a perfect host -- she not only made sure that her friend was there in case of need but also checked on me a few times to make sure I wasn't encountering any problems. I felt like I was visiting a friends place -- while the friend was away :). The entire place has such a positive vibe to it and waking up the sunrise over the water right from your bed is quiet another experience, I can go one forever about this slice of paradise.
I highly recommend it and will go back again with my husband one day to recharge our batteries. Thank you Laura and Melissa!

Stay sharp! Check details. Multiple units in same building!! Costly
Stay sharp lest ye enter the first open door at the top of the stairs. You’ll pay extra for missing the undisclosed fact that there are two units inside. No labels, so just don’t enter the first unlabeled unlocked door and settle in. Tricky lite clues in the email from unforgiving owner! First floor is a two bedroom with VERY SIMILAR view and deck and kitchen features. I bet the studio is great but we never saw it.
Eastport after Labor Day slows way down. Restaurant times are staggered collectively so that you’ll find just one or two per meal from Monday to Wednesday. We were excited to try the brewery and didn’t get that chance.
Again the unit was lovely and the owner was friendly but inattentive while traveling and punished our innocent error even after we explained why we didn’t intend harm by charging over $200. She eventually apologized in a meaningless way. She didn’t offer to split costs. Or offer a future discount. We probably would have preferred the studio. After over a year of pandemic restrictions, elder care stresses and constant life complications we are like many of you out there. We just want a low stress last minute getaway. Just stay sharp and don’t treat Eastport as an Easystop.

Gorgeous Studio
Gorgeous studio - beautifully redone with touches of the former industrial space. Everything you could want for a week or weekend away. Kitchen had all the needed supplies - we cooked lobsters, made crab pasta (host has information on site where to get the best local seafood) and had dinner on the deck overlooking the water. You could spend days just watching the waterfront, but there was great hiking nearby and places to explore (host has plenty of maps on site for the different locations). Eastport is quiet and lovely and we enjoyed strolling around, visiting the shops and heading out on the water with one of the local guides. Things wind down here by 7pm and many shops and restaurants are closed early in the week. That's nice because there is no street noise - we were able to keep windows open without issue and I'm a light sleeper. Just be aware of the earlier dinner times if you're not from around here and plan for dinner at home if you need to eat later or if its early in the week. We chose Eastport as a destination for our honeymoon based on the glowing reviews of this studio and it totally delivered. If you're considering a stay here, don't hesitate. You'll absolutely fall in love. Its a large and open space with great lighting, amazing water views, comfortable bed, huge bathroom, stocked kitchen and a host that was available and responsive. Thanks Laura for an amazing experience Down East!

** AMAZING **
This is a property you will not want to leave. It is well thought out, engagingly expansive and top notch. The entire living area is enhanced with natural light from the properties window scraping overlooking the picturesque bay in the central part of this quaint New England seaside locale.
The deck allows front row seats to enjoying all the sights and sounds of the bay including sea birds, porpoise and whale sightings, the daily fishing and tour boats, the Canadian coastline and even a distant lighthouse.
You will need to trek up some stairs for this **amazing** stay - and you will be glad you did, and you will long to return.

Phoenix
My husband and I had a wonderful stay. There is a very pretty view from the deck when the fog clears. The flat is very spacious and so clean. The little town is a very old historic, and neat place. They have some very nice shops there and the brewery makes some great flavors of beer.. Laura was right there if we needed anything. If we get back up that way some time we would love to stay there again.

Stunning views and more
I'm so happy we came across this newly renovated loft apartment overlooking a working waterfront. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets from the huge deck, a really comfy bed and sofa, brand new appliances, and a modern but cozy décor. Lots to watch during the day (fishing vessels, ferries, dolphins), but extremely quiet in the evenings and at night - except for one evening when we got to enjoy a free jazz concert from the deck that was happening adjacent to the building. Laura, the owner, was always responsive to our questions. Highly recommend!!!

Oceanfront Treasure
Myself and a friend wanted a girls getaway, and this fit the bill perfectly! Laura provided some great recommendations for eateries and other options. Could have happily just hung out in the unit, given the beautiful balcony looking over the water and full kitchen. Well appointed, comfortable, peaceful, convenient. One word of warning: this is a third floor unit with no elevator, so anyone with ambulatory issues would have difficulties. We'll definitely visit again!

Gorgeous!
This loft located in a 19th century converted seaport building is an absolute gem. From the soaring windows with natural light and harbor views to the tasteful contemporary interior incorporating original building features, The Phoenix loft is the ideal location for a seaport stay for a romantic getaway or solitary downtime. My VRBO in York, Maine, cancelled on me at the last minute, and I was lucky this rental was available on such short notice. I was flying in from Colorado and had never even heard of Eastport or Downeast, and so this was a complete gamble, but it sure turned out to be a winner. If I could have cancelled the rest of my summer plans I would have--it was that wonderful a stay. The deck, the views...sigh, I wish I could go back right now. Bring your binoculars, and if you're an artist or photographer, wait until you see the light! What's important to note is this is a genuine seaport, and you will have a ringside seat. There are so many lovely locations seaside, but the loft gives you a bird's eye view of a day in the life of the port, from the early morning dog walkers strolling down Water Street to the lobster boats heading into the early morning sunrise to their return at the end of the day. If the day is sunny, you may hear children playing, people relaxing on the deck at the micro brewery (although it was closed while I visited), and the general activities that go on in an active small port. To me, that was what made this location so special. At night, the port is quiet, as is Water Street. Parking was never a problem day or night. I won't go on about the amazing attractions of Eastport and nearby Quoddy Lighthouse/State Park and Lubec. Just go and see for yourself the history, small town friendliness, and authenticity of Downeast Maine. Be aware that views like this come with a bit of a hike up the three short flights of stairs (I think there are 38 steps total), which could cause a challenge for someone not capable of managing stairs. Also, there are no curtains, thank goodness, views from almost every window, but if you don't want to wake to natural light, then wear a sleeping mask. I wouldn't change a thing about this loft. The owner lives in Eastport and is attentive to critical details like arrival information and weather updates. I was not compensated in any way for this positive review. I just loved the loft, am already planning a return visit, and hope others are able to enjoy it as well. Five stars all around.
