About this cabin rental

This cabin was NOT affected (neither was the town of Grand Lake) at all by the recent fires in Grand County. *If Grand County (the county where this property is) does not allow short term rentals for the timeframe you would like to book because of Covid19 - we will give you a full refund. We have implemented a more in depth cleaning process including cleaning & disinfecting both bathrooms and kitchens and high touch surfaces & opening windows to ventilate. *OUR CLEANING SERVICE IS ALLOTTING FOR A 4 HOUR MAXIMUM TIME PERIOD TO CLEAN OUR PROPERTY.(WHICH ON AVERAGE IS MORE THEN AMPLE TIME) IN THE EVENT THAT THE CLEANING PROCESS (POST YOUR DEPARTURE)EXCEEDS THE 4 HOURS, AN ADDITIONAL $50 FEE WILL BE ASSESSED FOR EVERY ADDITIONAL HOUR REQUIRED THERE AFTER.* We have contactless entry with a lockbox and will give you the code upon self check in. This cozy 3 bedroom/2 bathroom log cabin sits on a hilltop on just over 1/3 of an acre with spectacular views of Shadow Mountain, Shadow Mountain Lake & Never Summer Mountain Range. It is less than 1/2 mile to the main snowmobile trail. Enjoy spectacular mountain/lake views from the covered deck or BBQ dinner on the grill on the wrap around deck or relax on the bonus deck off the lower level bedroom. The cabin is immaculate & very cozy inside with a gas fireplace & every detail you could think of including WIFI, movies, books, toys, 2 satellite TV's, Washer/Dryer, outdoor FIRE PIT, horseshoes, pack-n-play, highchair, sheets, towels, jetted whirlpool bathtub & board games. Decorated with shabby cabin chic details - you will find the finishing touches incredible yet very comfortable. Only a 10 minute walk to town. In addition to the King, Queen & 2 x-long twin beds (sleeps 6 adults max) there are 2 self inflating mats & 2 sleeping bags (for kids = 8 total). Only 2 minutes to the main snowmobile/ATV trails. There is a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of pots, pans, dishes, blender, Keurig coffee & regular coffee maker, crock pot, wine glasses, platters, basic spices, some condiments & much more. Plenty of parking for 3-4 cars in our 1/2 circle driveway.

Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park: Grand Lake is quaint village on the shores of Colorado's largest natural lake and the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. With Shadow Mountain Lake & Lake Granby there is more than 150 miles of scenic shoreline to explore, hike or fish. The Grand Lake area has plenty to do including: boating, sailing, fishing, hiking, golfing, hot sulpher springs, shopping, live theater or just enjoying the warm sunny days and cool evenings in the summer. In the winter you can enjoy snowmobiling, cross country & down hill skiing, hot springs, snow shoeing, sleigh rides, dog sled rides & sledding. In the fall you will appreciate the smaller crowds & the aspen leaves that turn a golden yellow & great wildlife viewing as the elk & moose make their way down from the mountains. You can also admire the elk bugling/mating season – simply a must see/hear!
In the winter you need 4WD or AWD to get up the hill to the cabin.

*Note: this cabin is in Grand Lake, Colorado. Vrbo/HomeAway recently lumped Grand Lake with Estes Park (2-3+hours drive summer/winter), Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash & the town of Granby (20-50 min drive). ZOOM IN ON MAP TO GET JUST GRAND LAKE.

We enjoyed our stay at the lovely lakeview cabin. The town was small but had a great vibe and all the restaurants we visited were great. Nights were enjoyed on the deck or lower property enjoying the dark night sky. Rocky Mountain National Park was minutes away where we were lucky enough to see moose, bighorn sheep and a herd of elk. The views were just breathtaking. Thank you for sharing your great cabin!

My family and I (2 kids in college who were home visiting my wife and I) had a great stay.. it was our 1st time in the Grand Lake area (we drove 3 hrs from Colorado Springs area) and we absolutely LOVED the cabin.. very clean, spacious, decorations and furniture were awesome (bear themed throughout the house) and the location to downtown is just a 3-4 min drive.. definitely would recommend and we would stay there again.. amazing views from the deck to note, as well..

This property was just what we wanted! A “just like home” feel with comfortable, clean and nicely appointed furniture. We really enjoyed the surrounding restaurants and the atmosphere of the town which was friendly and lively! Next time we are in Golden we will strive to stay here again!

We really loved our time at Lazy Bear Resort. The views were breathtaking. We had actually stayed next door a few years back and were pleasantly surprised to see that we were in the same location. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and the swing was such a nice touch. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your wonderful property.

This house was exactly as pictured and described: cozy, incredible views, spotless, and arguably the most well stocked kitchen of a vrbo home. It provided the perfect jumping off point to experience all of Grand Lake’s winter activities: ice fishing, RMNP, snowmobiling, ice skating. The check-in process was seamless and communication with the owner was timely and he was very responsive. We will absolutely be back to Grand Lake and, without hesitation, will stay here. Just a perfect mountain getaway.

Breathtaking views, cozy feel, fully equipped, clean, comfortable beds, and incredible location minutes from the Rocky Mountain National Park. This house was exactly what we expected it to be and more!! Such a great location. Minutes from the Main Street in Grand Lake which made shopping and eating out VERY convenient!! Right at the entrance of RMNP! We hiked and kayaked! And had great meals at the house too! The kitchen was very well stocked and we had many laughs around the kitchen island, out on the deck and around the fire pit!! Would definitely book this same house again if we go back to this same location!!

The cabin sits up high with amazing views of Shadow Mountain Lake and the surrounding foothills & mountains. From the front porch and the swing at the front of the property, you can see Grand Lake. The town of Grand Lake is walking distance, though the hill that provides those great views is pretty steep, so it might not be walking distance for everyone. On arrival, check-in was very easy and the cabin was immaculately clean. It lives up to the photos and is probably even a bit nicer than I expected. My family of five had a wonderful time here and would love to come back again.

This property was perfect for our family stay. It was within walking distance of Grand Lake Lodge where we attended a wedding. We were pleased to find lots of coffee and condiments and spices provided. A very well stocked kitchen.

Our children are all adults now, and we’re pretty geographically spread out, so we have started picking places to go for short family vacations as alternatives to meeting up at each other’s homes. The Lazy Bear Ranch was perfect spot for Rocky Mountain getaway. Well maintained and appointed cabin with awesome views. Great location with things to do in the small town of Grand Lake and near RMNP entrance. Owners were always quick to answer questions. All in all, just great place. Would love to stay again.

This has to be one of our top rental houses that we’ve stayed at in our 10 years of taking trips to the Rockies. Great location for a family of five like ours. Wonderfully decorated with attention to detail and the porch and view have to be one of the best in the Grand Lake area. We will definitely choose to stay here again if back in the area.
