About this house rental
Looking for lots of room, tucked away on a protected canal? You won't find many island rental properties on the water with a PRIVATE boat ramp — in the back yard (meaning, no one can use it but YOU). Our home has a private pool, fish cleaning station, plenty of parking for trucks, trailers... and so close to the beach, you can hear the waves crashing from one of the four decks or the dock or while lounging by the pool...
>>> Our sun deck is being renovated but should be available very soon.
Designed with fun in mind, Fishin' Tradition is one of a kind!
The top floor's large, open design is spacious enough for the whole family to gather, with lots of room for food and fun and enough deck space to soak up the sun! The huge kitchen is a great gathering spot with an oversized island and big windows offering lots of natural light (the sun, not the beer).
The comfy living room furniture and a large L-shaped sofa is relaxing after a fun day. The sofa also converts to a double bed.
The three Master Suites each have their own full, private bathroom. Each suite has double sliding glass doors that open to one of four full-length porches. Three of the bedrooms have king sized beds, and the fourth bedroom offers four twin sized beds (two bunk beds). Each bedroom has a Roku Smart TV.
Two of the bedrooms overlook the beautiful bayside canal and two open to the refreshing pool on the ground level below. The wooden, custom built staircase connects the sleeping area on the first floor to the open air living room and kitchen on the top floor. And your vacation home has FREE high speed WiFi, Roku Smart TVs in every room.
Outside, you will find a dock that spans the full length of the property, complete with an outdoor sink for cleaning your catch, a private boat ramp to launch boats, jet skis, kayaks and other water toys, or you can just float in the canal. There’s lots of room for grilling up the groceries you catch from the dock. Redfish, flounder and trout are our guests’ main catches.
Cook your meals on the downstairs patio area on the 6 burner gas grill or the Weber charcoal grill. You might even catch some free entertainment if the dolphin or manatee are hanging out in the canal below...
Initial entry to the home is accessible via keyless entry door on the first floor. Prior to your arrival, a code will be sent to you a couple of hours before the 5:00 pm check-in time; so there are no keys to keep up with!
This home was recently purchased by our local family, native to this island and area since the year 1900 — and seven generations have inhabited these lands. We've owned properties on St. George Island since the early 1970's, and lifelong memories have been made by many friends, extended family and visitors to our island homes for over five decades. So, we're excited to continue that rendition, through our new home, "FISHIN' TRADITION".

It was a fun time. Obviously would of loved less rain but owners can’t control that

We had a blast. Plenty of room for large family. Everything we needed for a great vacation. Dock is awesome.

We had a great time at SGI.
Krista was extremely helpful and easy to deal with. We enjoyed the home, pool dock and boat ramp.
We caught nice trout straight from the dock as well trout and redfish in the canal and bay. The beautiful beach was an easy couple of blocks and was not crowded during our stay.
Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

I have never left a bad review about anything but here we go. I’ve been staying on the island in rental properties annually for over 20 years and this, by far, was unsatisfactory. At a minimum, I expect a rental property to be safe and run efficiently, and for the amount you pay, it was not worth it and so disappointing.
1. Check in was late. They were unprepared for our arrival, waiting a hr for them to be done cleaning.
2. We slept/ate amongst ants, spiders, and roaches in the house. Finding numerous throughout the home including in the beds.
3. The dock and stairs were completely unsafe and hazardous. Railings were rotted/wobbly, boards were coming up and nails coming out. The upper deck was roped off because stairs had broken through.
4. There were holes in walls and things were found “fixed” in the house with duck tape.
5. On day 2 our AC went out and on day 3 the internet went out.
6. RED FLAG: their welcome sheet on day one advises to check doors often as they like to slide and stay ajar freezing the AC ( not what happened to us, it went out during the night due to the blower) and to limit flushing the toilet including toilet paper - clearly major things going on with the house that need to be addressed.
Pros: it has a boat ramp and is in a decent location.

Beautiful place. But noticed the last day of stay that there was a huge water leak infront of the kitchen sink area. Water was just sitting there on the floor, could not dry it up -the water kept coming back. Our socks were soaked and had to resort to wearing shoes (which made the floor dirty). Management was not in a hurry to get it fixed or offer assistance for our last day there...we just put up with it. Also had to buy a few basic items like gargage bags and paper towels.

St George is a great community! We had a great time and hope to make it back someday. We had a relaxing week and the house was gorgeous! Didn’t catch any fish, but had a great time trying.

Our family was in the area on a duck hunting trip. The location of the home and the dock were perfect for our trip. The beach was just a short walk. We would definitely stay here again.

Our family had a great time at this house! There was plenty of room for our family. We each had our own bathroom and sliding door directly to the balcony which was awesome. Also, we caught redfish, speckled trout, and white trout off the dock out back. On the evening of our last day, dolphins swam into the canal right up to the dock. Super cool! The owner is super nice and accommodating if you need anything what-so-ever. We will be staying here in the future! Thank you for such a memorable time!

12 of us, family and friends, stayed comfortably at A Fishin Tradition for a wonderful week of fun in the sun! We brought 4 jet skis and a pontoon boat and were able to dock all of them right there in the canal in the backyard!
There is plenty of seating for both eating and relaxing in the open kitchen/living room. The 3rd floor kitchen/living room offers great water views while cooking, eating or relaxing. The kitchen has a great selection of pots, pans, glasses, plates & utensils.
The pool was a nice way to relax after a day of boating and jet skiing, the pool was clean and refreshing.
No need to worry about parking as there is plenty of room for your vehicles and trailers. So, bring your boat & fishing gear and enjoy all that A Fishin Tradition has to offer!!!

The setting is Lovely- on a canal just off the bay. I knew the property was not handicap accessible so I knew there would stairs. What I wasn’t fully expecting was 3 flights up outside to get to the main living area. The alternative was a very narrow circular staircase inside. It was good exercise but my muscles screamed at me for 2 days.
Krista the property manager is very nice and very busy. She was responsive to our needs regarding checkin and door issues. She wasn’t always timely due to her other commitments.
Once we got the door issues resolved the day after we checked in our stay was smooth and everyone had a great time.

The layout and design of the home was fun and exciting. The entire top floor is a beautiful open concept kitchen, dining and living room. Prefect for a relaxing getaway with the family, but would have had plenty of space for many more. Everything was very clean and the home was well stocked with everything we needed. Would gladly come back again.

Ideal for families
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owner was most pleasant and accessible. We brought our kayaks and it was so convenient to use them. A big hit for the kids. If you don’t mind going up and down all the stairs, the house was great and most comfortable. A little disappointed that the top of the dock wasn’t accessible, but minor detail.

Krista was phenomenal and all the amnesties were excellent! Access to the water definitely made our experience here second to none!
