About this cottage rental
Looking for the perfect beach location - quiet, secluded and where you can enjoy nature and time with your family? Our Family Tides Cottage is just that - it is quiet, secluded, yet close to major attractions (shopping, restaurants, theaters, golf, etc).
The space
No hustle, no bustle, no traffic lights, no crowded beaches. In the mornings, relish the beautiful sunrises over the Delaware Bay, and in the evenings, the gorgeous sunsets over the Primehook wildlife refuge behind you. During the day, stroll back to Deep Hole Creek via our private walkway.
Relax on the beach, read that book you have been putting off, take a walk along the sandy shore, swim in the bay, comb for seashells and sea glass or enjoy a bonfire on the beach with family and friends.
Pamper yourself with high speed internet, cable TV and comfortable beds. We also provide guests with access to a beach cart, beach chairs, an umbrella and a beach blanket to save room in the car!
For the days you want more social interaction, it is only a fifteen to twenty minute drive to the following places: touring the Dogfish Head Brewery, shopping at the outlets in Rehoboth, taking in a movie at the Movies of Midway, walking the historic district of Lewes, Delaware’s first settlement, or strolling the boardwalk at Rehoboth (the younger ones will definitely want to tour Funland).
We believe you will enjoy the relaxing atmosphere as much as we do. Furnishings were recently updated! Our home has one queen bed, a bunk bed set, and a sleeper sofa which will accommodate 6 guests. Bringing bed linens, towels, beach towels are the responsibility of renters.
The bathroom has a standing shower with an additional outdoor shower and there is plenty of parking on the lot.
We are glad to assist in making your stay a 5-star visit.
We learned a long time ago that family & friend vacations were worth the investment; a small price to pay for wonderful memories and great personal connections.

If you like quite and relaxing. This is the place to be. We absolutely loved the location. So close to the beach and no crowds. The best was walking the beach at sunset. If you want to go to any of the other beaches they were not far away. Best part was the outdoors shower so you can keep the sand at a minimum. Especially with kids. I loved waking up and sitting on the porch drinking my coffee. Such a beautiful area. We were not disappointed and Linda answered right away with any questions. We definitely go back again.

This place was cozy and fit our needs perfectly. We had an easy walk to the beach everyday. The front porch is a great spot to relax throughout the day. Easy walk to the broadkill store for ice cream in the evening. We enjoyed everyday!

It was very quiet and a nice place to get away from all the crazy. We loved the little store in town.

We had a great stay at this rustic cabin, it is super close to the beach and was great for our small family. The outdoor shower was perfect for getting the sand off. Bug spray kept the flys off and the beach is amazing! This was our first family beach trip together and we had a great time.

We enjoyed the days we stayed at the beach. The location is very close (walking distance) to Broadkill beach and this was our first time to the area. We also enjoyed how close the general store was for a quick lunch. Host was very responsive. Great birdwatching and easy access to the beach.

This property was just what we needed. As described, it is a rustic cottage. For the price, you cannot beat the location. It is just mere steps from the beach. The house was clean inside, and the furniture was super comfy. I do suggest bringing bug spray. The mosquitos were thick, but that is what you get when you are surrounded by water and we were prepared. Overall, we had a great stay and would stay there again.

House needs some tlc and lawn was knee high when we arrived. Someone came to mow on the last night as we were eating dinner outside. The place needed a cleaning. Floors, beds, couch, and cookware were all dirty. Bugs were all over the place and dozens were in the light fixtures.

The location is beautiful and so peaceful. We had a small mishap with the property not having been completely cleaned at the beginning of our trip, but the host responded promptly and all worked out well. This is our second time booking this place and may stay again.

But definitely not our last. We wanted a beach getaway without the traffic and crowds you find further south and Broadkill fit the bill. This cottage is perfect for a couple a family or small group. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook meals. We loved hanging out on the screened porch playing cards and a couple of the board games provided. The beach is just a 2 minute walk and my husband is still talking about the pizza he had from the Broadkill store just down the road. The host were quick to respond to any questions i had and gave clear instructions for the check in and out process. I will definitely be booking this cottage again and recommending to friends.

Property was great, perfect for our little family!

The cottage is in an excellent location right by the beach, and easy access to Rehoboth and Lewes. The property manager provided us all the info we need in advance, and included things that we may want to see in the area. Would absolutely stay again!

We enjoyed our stay!
The house was clean and close to beach and the little store. And if we needed any extras the drive to the little town wasn’t far!
The only thing we recommend is the bug spray if you want to hike the refuge!

My family enjoyed the peaceful time away! This beach cottage is small but just what we needed for our little getaway! Easy access to the beach, a great local store in walking distance and a nice quiet neighborhood away from it all!

The house is cozy, comfortable, and at a perfect location for us. It was a very short walk to get on the beautiful but secluded beach and a short drive to Rehoboth Beach and Lewes. It is exactly as described, but way more cozy. If we ever come this way again, we would absolutely stay here again.

You can't beat the location. The cozy cabin has a great screened in porch where we enjoyed our meals and family time. For those with small children it is ideal. Popping back to the cabin because you forgot the sun block or to go to bathroom, and you are so close to the corner store. The owners are very quick to respond and the cabin has everything you need. We had a wonderful time.

Exactly what my s.o. and I were looking for - three days of quiet surrounded by a beach and marsh. Planning to come back one day, for sure.

The real gem here is the gorgeous beach- we enjoyed every minute and will be staying again.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. The house is small but perfectly located on a nice quiet road less than a minutes walk onto the beach. The owner had great communication and everything worked as per the instructions we were given. The beach gear that is included really helped to make this stay wonderful.
Although the house has a nice big tv we never even turned it on because we spent most of our time in the house on the screened in porch- this was lovely. We definitely would love to come back as soon as we can.

If you want a relaxing vacation, Broadkill beach is the place to be: miles of pristine serene beach free from crowds perfect for crab and bird watching, swimming, relaxing. Linda’s quaint house is located a 3 min walk from the beach. It has everything you need to have a good vacation: well stuffed kitchen, comfy living room and bedrooms, beach chairs and umbrellas. Outdoor shower is great to prevent tracking sand in. Broadkill store is around the corner and has bicycles for rent. Broadkill wildlife refuge is 5 min away, and if you miss crowds Lewes and Rehoboth are 20 minutes drive. House is back to the marsh, so have plenty repellent handy. No light pollution at night: sky is full of stars. Linda is a gracious host and great communicator.

Great place!
Great location, easy walk to the beach and even easier to walk to the general store (great spot for sandwiches, burgers, pizza, ice cream) - which was great, because with no dishwasher and no garbage disposal I really didn't want to cook.
The bedroom with the bunk beds isn't air conditioned, so it got very warm. One of my kids didn't mind and slept fine in there (the provided fan helped) and the other preferred to sleep in the living room. The window air conditioners in the living room and queen bedroom are powerful and we were happy to have them (note: like all window units, they are loud. Wasn't a problem for us.)
For a place advertised as "rustic" and priced accordingly, this was a fantastic place to stay.

RUSTIC Cottage
All in all- very acceptable. This house/cottage was very comfortable and clean. There were a few flies buzzing around initially, but we got rid of them and they weren’t a problem after. The inside shower was just fine for washing up- great water pressure there and in the sink. While there was a dirty, dingy little rug in the bathroom, I’d recommend bringing a bathmat along with the other linens. The space is very compact, but it does the job. Easy walk to the beach and the corner market. Nice, quiet retreat from the hustle bustle of stuff closer to Rehoboth.

Family weekend getaway
House was as described. It’s nice to have an affordable option at the beach. It’s an old beach shack so it does feel small, cramped & run down. It was clean, main bed & sofas surprisingly comfortable. Easy walk to beach & narrow pier behind house was pleasantly quiet. The local store & some restaurants in Milton were closed for the season during our mid-October stay. It served our family of 4 well enough for a weekend.

Great getaway for our family
We had a wonderful stay at this friendly cottage. The bedrooms suited our family well, as well as indoor and screen porch spaces. The yard was wonderful for our family to hang out, with a beautiful view from dock our back. The location couldn’t be beat with a very short walk across the road to a very uncrowded beach. WiFi great and Disney Plus for the kids. Our host was extremely responsive too! We would return and definitely recommend.

Quiet beach stay
The place is small, but all that we needed. Beds were comfortable and hosts were thorough with details.

easy walk to the beach
Great location! Easy walk to the beach, which was never too crowded. Easy walk to the general store which had yummy donuts. Rooms were small, but functional. Kids enjoyed the bunk beds, although it was a tight squeeze for even the 5 year old to get up the ladder. Would have prefered a nightstand or bedside table over a second dresser in the main room, but the bed was comfortable. The screened in porch was a great feature and was a comfortable place to eat meals, or for the girls to do arts and crafts while Mom and Dad put our feet up. I thought it was agreat stay for the price and would possibly stay again if.

This is our second stay here and we love it. Great to see there was a new shower in the bathroom. Very quiet and peaceful family vacation.

Great House and Location
The house was clean, well kept and had everything we needed. It is a short drive to Rehobeth and Dewy Beach if you like the hustle and bustle of shopping and night life, but come back to the house for a nice cozy, quiet, off the beat n path relaxing stay.
The beach kart was nice to have to tote all the things we usually have to carry down to the beach. The Broadkill Beach is a very close walking distance. We had a fire on the beach (our first time for that) It was very relaxing. We enjoyed fishing too. We were only there for two nights but plan to make it longer the next time. We really enjoyed our stay.

Awesome location and price!
Very close to the beach, house is exactly as advertised, had everything we needed (air conditioning, WiFi, and perfect amount of space for a family of 4), and very reasonable rate! My family and I had the peace and quiet we all needed and were close enough to travel to Dewey and Rehoboth. DART was amazingly easy to use and took the hassle out of parking in downtown Rehoboth.

Wonderful place for a get away.
We loved staying at the Broadkill beach cottage! For less than we could have stayed at a dumpy hotel in Rehoboth beach, we had a cute little cottage all to ourselves. It was a very short walk to the beach and had everything you would need for a great stay. Just 20 minute drive to the boardwalk at Rehoboth.
There is also a picturesque narrow little dock on the back of the property. It goes about 100 feet or so - over marshy grasslands - and stops at the meandering river. This was an added bonus and fun to explore!
Know before you book - you will need to take your own linens - towels and sheets etc. This was very clearly written in the information sheet - but I don’t think I saw it anywhere before booking - and thought it might be helpful info.

A bargain
Perfect for 1-2 people. Nothing luxurious, but clean, with everything I need - TV, WiFi, comfy bed. Try getting a motel room in Lewes for the price. Very relaxing beach town with a convenience store a block in one direction and the beach less than that in the other.

Perfectly Quaint
Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was excellent, right down the road from the general store and the beach. We felt safe enough to allow our children (twins - age 10) to venture down to the store on their own as well as ride their bikes throughout Broadkill. Although small, the cottage itself was adequate for our needs. It was clean, and the communication from the owner was excellent, far exceeding our past experiences. I'm grateful we found this place!

Cozy beach cottage off the beaten path
Jason’s place is the perfect rustic beach getaway. We stayed here for a few weeks and it was perfect for two people and just steps away from the beach. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back for many years to come. There’s a coffee maker and everything you need to cook including a full size refrigerator, microwave and stove. The owner is great to deal with and the whole process was seamless.

We stayed here to avoid holiday weekend crowds. The location is great! Short walk to Broadkill beach store and beach access. We had very rainy and cold weather for our stay. The porch has hurricane shutters that stay down to prevent water from entering the porch when rain is in forecast. We didn’t get to make full use of the porch and family table for crabs but I plan a return trip to enjoy it in the future! I love the character of the house! I felt like I was at the beach! Beds are comfortable. Bring a children’s safety railing for top bunk if you have kids that may want to or need to use top bunk. Railing of the bed itself is a several inches higher than mattress. Living room is super comfortable and the TV works great with lots of options with Roku TV.Kitchen is well equipped and functional. The backyard was great for the kids. Pier out the back is in good shape, dock repairs at the end were underway. Outdoor shower has hot and cold water. Bathroom is small but functional. Shower was tight for my husband who is 6’4. Overall, great house and great stay!
