If you’re looking for a staycation on the Northumberland coastline, Shorty’s is a welcoming holiday home in the town of Amble. Sleeping up to 5 guests, it is an ideal place to stay for families or groups of friends. Boasting private on site parking for up to three cars, an enclosed garden and free WiFi, Shorty’s has everything you could want for a self-catering stay by the sea.
The Space:
Shorty’s has a cosy living room with two sofas, a TV and a bookcase with a selection of books making it a great place to relax. Traditional in style, the kitchen is fully equipped so you can prepare meals easily. The property boasts a separate dining room where you can gather your loved ones together and enjoy quality time together.
Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find three bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom includes a double bedroom and built in wardrobes so you have ample space to store your belongings. Ideal for children and teenagers, the second bedroom is a twin and the third bedroom has a single bed.
Modern and clean, the family bathroom has a bathtub, walk in shower, WC and basin.
Outside you’ll find an enclosed garden with a decking area and a lawn.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There is private, on site parking for three vehicles.
Dogs are more than welcome at Shorty's, however please do not leave your pups alone inside the property at any point during your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Shorty’s is located in the beautiful town of Amble on the Northumberland coastline. With a bustling marina and long stretching sandy shores, there is plenty of fun to be had here. You can try your hand at watersports as there are plenty of activities on offer including sailing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Hop on a boat trip to The Coquet Island, just a mile off the coast, to discover an array of wildlife. There are 35,000 nesting birds in the summer and a colony of over 600 seals!
Amble is also home to delicious restaurants and cosy pubs so you can enjoy a truly relaxing break. As Amble is a fishing town, you can expect the best seafood fresh from the coast. If it’s shopping you’re looking for, the town has lots of independent stores. Head to Harbour Village and you’ll find 15 brand new pods selling arts, crafts, food, drink and gifts.
Episodes of Vera have been filmed along this famous stretch Northumberland coast. It has also been visited by Robson Green and by Villages by the Sea's Ben Robinson. Villages by the Sea has also visited Warkworth, Alnmouth and Bamburgh, all of which are a stone's throw away from Amble. Recently "The Duchess and Her Magical Kingdom" was filmed at Alnwick, just a few miles inland from Amble. Alnwick Castle was an important venue for Harry Potter's Hogwarts.
Getting Around:
Amble is located 15 miles from Morpeth and roughly 9 miles from Alnwick on the coast so it is perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland.
There are plenty of great bus routes making it easy to travel around the area. Hop on the X18 which travels from Alnwick through to Newcastle with stops in Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh.
The nearest train station is roughly five miles away in Alnmouth. Located on the main East coast line, express trains stop at Alnmouth train station throughout the day so you can get a direct train to London in just 3 and a half hours. Edinburgh is just one hour away, Berwick upon Tweed and Newcastle just half an hour.

Shower dangerous
The property was in good area, close to Main Street and marina. The property was let down by
1- the shower. Dangerous, either boiling hot or cold, no happy medium.
2- Front door sticking and difficult to open.
3-TV reception made it impossible to watch.
