Quirky beautiful old 14 and 15 century Manor House. Lovely room. Friendly caring host.

Characterful property
Did not expect the bunk room to be the size of a cupboard! Nowhere to relax other than sit on the public landing due to size of room. Squeezed a wooden chair in that was subsequently removed by host and returned to the landing. Also each day although the host changed a bottle of drinking water next to kettle, all other used cups etc were left dirty for my 4 day stay, carpet not hoovered daily which meant the room felt terribly dirty 2 days into my stay. Also the spare key used by the host was left outside my room whilst I was out for the day. Also had to purchase hot water bottle as so cold. Obviously the price reflected the breakfast but I wasn’t aware it wasn’t a cooked breakfast on booking.
Was relieved to get home!

The hosts were very welcoming & happy to engage. They provided background information about the location to enhance the experience of visiting the area. The manor house is a beautiful historic building in a friendly village community setting. Every effort was made by the hosts to provide homely touches to make the visit extremely enjoyable.

The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond in their hospitality. The house was one of the most beautiful and historic I’ve visited
The breakfast offered could have been more hearty compared to 1-2 croissants and cereal

Lovely warm welcome and well looked after during our stay, thank you!

Fluer welcomed us on arrival and helped us find a local pub for dinner as we arrived far later than expected - very much appreciated. The breakfast consisted of fruit and cereals with an option of chocolate or plain croissant, home made jams, coffee or many varieties of tea and herbal teas with local apple juice. Will was attentive to all our needs over breakfast. The bed very comfortable with a private bathroom off the passage, new and contemporary. The Manor House is beautiful and very quiet - perfect for a weekend base.
Nothing.
Perhaps a cooked breakfast?

Beautiful building. Friendly, welcoming owners who were generous with their time and knowledge, passionate about their home and surrounding countryside and committed to making our stay as good as possible. Learning about the history of the building (courtesy of friendly owners).
I couldn't fault this property.

It was an exceptionally nice stay with really helpful lovely hosts.
Exceedingly nice atmosphere and welcoming feeling to the place.
Perfectly positioned for touring Somerset.
Lots of very interesting old villages in this central area that are worth a visit on their own.
The only niggle was that the bathroom was not on sweet but it was directly next door to our bedroom and was a very nice one and we soon got used to using it so it ended up not being a problem at all.
I would have very much liked to have seen the rest of the ancient building as it was historically very significant but I understood that the rooms were currently being used as storage and that would probably change in the future.
None of these were a problem and I would encourage anyone to stay here as it is well worth it and I am very pleased to wholeheartedly endorse it.

Only the toilet. They have no kitchen and fridge for the lodgers where you can at Will toast your bread or warm or keep your food.
They are quite restrictive and never allowed us access to their kitchen, fridge, microwave, toaster etc, but never provided any of these items for us to use. We didn't really feel at home over there.

Interseresting place with lots of history run by great characters
A little bit out of the way but fine with car.

Lovely old buildings, loads of history which Fleur knew all about, and a nice quiet location off the beaten track.
Annoyed to find weird other guest using our bathroom at 2 and 3 a.m. Bathroom was well fitted but was next to our room, not en suite because building is Grade 11 star.

Well maintained and quirky stone built house. Peaceful location deep on the countryside.
No sitting room inside the house. Local pub, The Bell, which would be ideal for evening meals and refreshments, is currently closed due to illness.
4.0 / 5.0
Quiet location to facilitate good nights sleep. Bed was comfortable & clean, as was the room. Separate very spacious, modern bathroom adjacent the our room but no connecting with door, so we did need to go between the two rooms by going onto the landing.
Great to have use of the Wifi code as there was no data on my network provider.
Off road parking was great to have.
Owner was very friendly and chatty. Also very accommodating about us wanting to have an early start the following morning.
Beautiful historic property full of character. Lovely garden.
Faint but ever present smell of tobacco
Poly cotton bedding, prefer cotton sheets/duvet cover
Commuication prior to arrival could have helped us find the property and where in the property to head to when we arrived. (The property so quite large so upon arrival we were unsure where to head to.)

A magical property steeped in history. A real treat to stay in such a beautiful house with so much character and the most peaceful garden where the flowers flow and the wind rustles through the trees.
Loved everything about The Manor House. Owners Fleur and William make you feel welcome and offer warm hospitality

We loved our stay at the Manor House especially learning the history of this amazing example of architecture. Our hosts were lovely and gracious and our room and bed very comfortable. We also enjoyed a private updated bathroom with luxurious big bath. A very beautiful area to stay close to local friends and a great pub just around the corner. We look forward to staying here again in the future and highly recommend a stay here.
