About this house rental
Summary:
This spacious townhouse is in a quiet, residential location in Wells very nearby to the famous Cathedral. You're also just a short walk from the bustling centre of town and local amenities, whilst remaining in a peaceful area.
The Space:
Inside, the house is spacious with three bedrooms spanning over three floors. The open-plan living room, dining room and kitchen is a great social space and there is direct access out to the patio with outdoor furniture. This sun trap gets lovely morning light and is perfect for alfresco breakfasts! In the kitchen, you will find everything you need to cook hearty meals including a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. In the living room, you certainly won't struggle to find something to watch on the Smart 4K TV with Apps such as Netflix, Prime and BBC iPlayer. Or relax to your favourite music with the Sonos Sound System. Additionally, there is a toilet, washing machine and cloak room on this level.
On the first floor, there are two large twin bedrooms with ample storage for clothes. You will also find a family bathroom with both a bath and shower on this floor, as well as a separate shower room. Upstairs, the light and bright Master Bedroom features a comfortable king size bed and en-suite bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower. The elevation of the master bedroom means it receives the best views of Wells Cathedral and the surrounding countryside.
Its prime central location, proximity to the Mendip Hills and stunning views make this the perfect home for a trip to Wells. Please note: We do not accept pets for allergy reasons (even dogs!), smoking and BBQs are not permitted, and we do not allow stag/hen groups.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the whole house and garden.
The Neighborhood:
The townhouse is situated in a quiet residential area on the east side of Wells within walking distance of Wells Cathedral and the award winning Bishop’s Palace. Local amenities include a small supermarket 3 minutes walk away and three major supermarkets, a cinema and numerous pubs and cafes. Wells is England's smallest City lying at the foot of the Mendip Hills. The City centre is well known for its bustling High Street and Market Place, where there is a produce market on Wednesday's and Saturday's. There are a number of good pubs within walking distance of the house, such as The Fountain Inn, Britannia Pub, Fosso Lounge and The Globe Inn. Goodfellows is another brilliant eatery serving fresh seafood, and there are also some lovely cafes in the town centre. We recommend trying Twentyone as well as Loaf.
From the house, you can reach the Mendip Hills in under 15 minutes. Cheddar Gorge is a must-see, providing beautiful walks with views over Somerset and beyond as well as a number of pretty cafes. Stockhill Wood is another of our favourite spots for a walk, and is just a nine minute drive from the property. The vibrant cities of Bristol and Bath are also just a short drive or bus ride away.
Getting Around:
Due to the property's central location, it is possible to walk to the centre of town and most of the local amenities. That said, if you do wish to drive, there is a private parking space for one vehicle as well as plenty of on-street parking on North Street and Lewmond Avenue.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

We stayed here with 5 adults, two married couples and one individual. The accommodation was superb and had everything we needed. It was the cleanest place I've ever stayed in. Having two bathrooms and three toilets meant we could sort ourselves out without the usual hassles.
We found it ideally situated for walking to the cathedral and a little beyond to the shops. You do drop down into town so there's a climb back to the property but it was only about a 15 minute walk, maybe slightly longer if you meander. Because of the properties location we were able to have a meal out, with a drink and not have to worry about who was driving.
The property is close to St Thomas church and the bells do ring on the hour even at night. One of our party struggled a bit with the noise but he is also a very light sleeper. The rest of us were OK.
We did manage to lock ourselves out one evening but we called the supplied number for such cases (and such idiots) and our call was promptly answered. We were given some instructions and were then able to enter the property. I can therefore say in an emergency situation, access to help works effectively.
Overall I, and all of my party, would highly recommend this property as one worth staying in if you are visiting Wells and the surrounding areas.

Property was well equipped, laid out well and an excellent base for our long weekend. Loved wells cathedral, and grounds. Spent a day in Bath which was an easy distance. Lovely stay thank you.

The house was very clean and had all the facilities you could wish for in a short stay house and much more. We were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine from the host which was a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious. Plenty of room for a family to relax in the living room with access to streaming services. The property is a short 15 min walk to wells which avoids having to find parking and two supermarkets are close by. It is the perfect location to explore the local area.

A beautifully appointed town house, excellently equipped with a traditional look and feel and lovely views of Wells Cathedral. Responsive and helpful landlord.
