Property has bags of character, and is cosy on wintery nights, parking is an issue as cottage is for 6 but realistically there is only just parking for 1 medium car, location is good with plenty of walks from the cottage door and the local pub is 5 minutes walk and very good

Myself and 4 friends stayed for two nights with 3 dogs. What a find! This place is fab! Very well equipped and furnished cottage. It has everything you need to make your stay home from home, the dogs were made to feel welcome too. It was spacious enough for 5 people. The dog walks nearby are perfect, dog friendly pubs too, it’s very peaceful too with beautiful views, I can highly recommend this place for a family dog friendly break, Trudy the owner was so easy to deal with too which really helps. I think we will be back!!

The property was up a quite dead-end road. The only pain was the construction on the A40 which meant we had to take a detour when going in the Gloucester direction from the cottage but ok in the other direction, but it was manageable. Parking was ok with one car at the house and a car port available also down the road a bit. It was as described in the listing and the photos accurate. The cottage has a lovely large kitchen that we found we used as the family room. It also has a cosy lounge for relaxing. We were a large group of 6 (4 adults and 2 teens plus two small dogs) and there was plenty of room for us all. Having two bathrooms was a bonus too. We went for some lovely dog walks. Getting up to the top of May Hill is very convenient but quite a climb. We also went on segways in the Forest of Dean and did the zip line (phoenix) in the south of Wales. Both were within a short car drive. We had a lovely time visiting my granddaughter at Hartpury University and had a short shopping trip to Gloucester Quays. This property was clean and welcoming and served our needs perfectly. We would definitely recommend it to others wanting to explore in this area. We found local restaurants, a chippy, and pizza place, a short car ride away and would highly recommend Newent Tandoori if you like Indian food (you can order online then pick up). The owner, Trudi, was very attentive and checked in with us when we arrived but not intrusive. With my granddaughter signed up for four years at Hartpury I am sure we will think of coming here again.
