beautiful new apartment, clean, amazing view (11th floor with elevator), comfortable, wonderful big windows in all rooms! right next to bus line 14 that takes you all the way through downtown in 15 minutes or less.
i wanted to check in a bit early and noted it on my booking and also texted/called the host, who was unresponsive until booking customer service intervened. at that point, the host apologized a lot so i am sure it was all done in good faith. i think improved communication would really help because this place is so so so wonderful and the key pick-up is really easy once you get the info.

The view and the space
All was perfect

View from the room ia excellent, bus stop is outside the building, high speed internet with smart TV.
The property owner was not available at the location for check-in, no instruction was given how to check-in. Waited more than one hour on the ground. No reply on the phone provided. Only computer was replying probably in Icelandic language. Property owner came after I called Booking.com customer care number consuming my entire credit of 35 Euro as I called in Roaming to UK number for assistance. Later also I called property owner three times in different days but remain unanswered.

Brand new everything because I was the first guest. Great honor - this apartment is a gem and the panoramic vista was something I did not anticipate in Reykjavik given how many high-rises are there! Proximity to the cruise port is also a big plus for me.
The apartment building itself is a recognizable landmark in Reykjavik, standing tall on a small hill in a quiet residential neighborhood near the port area. True 270° view overlooking Icelandic suburban and natural landscape. Golden sunsets above the Atlantic that you can watch on the bed, yet you get cozy morning sunlight in the living room.
Tasteful modern decor with new furniture. Amazing mattress that rivals 5-star hotels. Big Samsung smart TV that you can access YouTube (I've played a lot of background music) or connect to laptop - not so sure about the antenna connection though. Large living space that can also sleep two. Plenty of wardrobe space in bedroom and doorway. Fully equipped kitchen with Senso coffee, microwave, oven and stove. Balcony and large picture window.
A bit far to walk to downtown but buses #12 and #14 are close by. 10 minutes bus ride to downtown, but note #14 might be rerouted due to roadworks (the app isn't always reliable on when rerouting is done), so #12 is more reliable. Walkable to cruise pier but going to the apartment from pier will involve a 20+ minute uphill stroll. Tours pick-up and Hop on hop off bus can be arranged at outside the Dalur - HI Hostel, 5 min walk downhill. Krambúðin
Krambúðin is 10 minutes away but it's a small and pricier place for food. The closet Kronan is a 20 min walk - better use a bus for groceries shopping. Not many restaurants nearby, but there's the very popular Laugardalslaug geo-heated pools and around it there are some eateries. And of course ice cream parlors that open late.
Host David is in the real estate business and response is always fast. You'll be in good hands!
Have raised some teething issues to David and I'm quite sure he's looking into them. Actually my booking was an early surprise so maybe he's going to add more amenities. Perhaps ladies will look forward to a hairdryer, for example. There were also issues with hot water. But that view is just unmatched.
