The see view from the living room is nice
The decor is definitely dated and tired. The shower room didn't have any toiletries. The so-called back court is very dangerous and definitely unfit for purpose. The barbecue area is directly under a completely derelict building with rubbish and construction materials lying about. This area is supposed to be the private parking area. The gate was supported by loose stones.
The access pin code was only given less than 24 hours before arrival despite being requested twice previously. On the second request, the reply came somewhat abrupt in tone.
Other than the see view from the rear, it is right on a corner of a busy road, and one of the bedrooms is right on the pavement.
The cupboard in the front bedroom has all the electrical panels and meters. It's not
appropriate in my view.
The final flourish was a note left for us asking us to strip our beds before we left.
In addition, it is expensive for what it is

Location - lovely town & near other great places.
That toilet didn't flush!! Otherwise perfect accommodation

The location in Anstruther is good and we loved the style and the comfy sofas. however, the pics showing the sea outside the property do not show that there is a derelict building to the left as you look out to the water, and a scruffy 'work yard'.
The yard area stopped us being able to enjoy the outside, it seemed to be a rough, working yàrd area with a parked car right at the back of the property. It was not a place we would want to sit out and use the BBQ unfortunately. The two double beds used were uncomfortable, the lock on the bathroom door didn't lock and the toilet seat didn't fit properly. The property could be great, but some of the finishes are a bit rough and the bathroom had some splashes on the wall under the toilet roll holder and the seals in and around the shower were unattractively discoloured in places. Flakey paint and staining around the window in the double bedroom looking out to the sea and flaked/cracked paint on the blue wall behind the bed.

Very clean, view was stunning. Had a problem with the toilet but someone was at the door to fix it within minutes, great service.
Bathroom could do with being upgraded but was very clean.

Great property, clean and a wonderful location with an amazing view of the ocean.
The host was friendly and supplied us with a few things we needed.

Sea view
There was ants in the bedrooms and issues with the boiler

Clean, spacious, fantastic views and a great location close to everything!
Everything was just fine.

The location of Ugly Duckling was excellent as it was within easy walking distance of the harbour, beach, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. The property was an upside down house with bedrooms downstairs and kitchen , bathroom and sitting room upstairs allowing the beautiful sea view to be best appreciated. It was clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. Parking was provided which was a bonus as Anstruther is very busy and parking can be difficult to find.
It would have been lovely to enjoy an outside area. Chairs and BBQ facilities were provided but the space itself was in need of upgrading.

very clean & everything was available for what you needed.
nothing in particular, the shower was a little ‘light’ in terms of pressure but did the job.

great location and nice house
tv options could have been better and house could have been warmed up when we entered

Ideal location ...close to all facilities in Anstruther and easy access to the Fife coastal path
4.2
sea/ harbor views in cute coastal town convenient to St Andrews and walking distance to many restaurants and the small beach! enough beds for a family of 6 with a fun kids room and cozy living room with faux fireplace ( but gives heat) and games for a relaxing afternoon/ evening. Our Oldest loved the Broon comics!
no coffee maker of any kind, the parking/ yard area is very messy, with broken items leaned against walls etc. 4 hours on a Saturday would do a lot for the back lot, this didn’t effect the trip much as the inside living space is lovely, but it is visible from the big window that looks out at the sea so it would be a big improvement.

Location beside harbour-stunning

View was fantastic. Decor was lovely.
Lots of work needs done, quite a lot of broken window hinges mean you can't open windows, kitchen tap faulty, shower had little to no water pressure.

Lovely location , beautiful view.
A little rough around the edges, but not terrible.

central for everything, and it’s sea views
nothing

The view from the window. The photos suggest that we would be closer to the sea as it seemed like we could sit outside and see this. There is no option to enjoy the view uinless its from the window. Pictires should be updated to show its a window view
I feel I was totally mis-sold this property. The whole point was for us to have outside access to sit and enjoy the fresh air but with the ability to safely walk inside. I didnt expect to be able to access the beach but at least to be able to see it from outside.
We couldn't even sit in the yard at the back if we wanted to as there was no lighting.
The first thing you get is a strong wiff of damp. This needs to be addressed as it makes the property seem dirty and it is not.
Someone was banging on the door around 8pm. We got such a fright to the point we didnt want to stay but had no choice as it was pitch dark to get the car. It was absolutely awful. I then noticed the back fence gate was shut when it was open. I wonder if it was the host to tell us he shut the gate to the car park/terrace. The banging was of such ferocity we considered calling the police.
We are devastated, over 200 to have a horrible time. I would never ever have booked this property as the main feature we wanted from the stay is the ability to easily get outside as this property was advertised as. My sister has health conditions and it wasnt clear the property was over 2 levels.
We had no choice but to sit and try and watch TV but the screen was also pixilated.
I can see this flat being suitable for a getaway for a family but its is not nice enough to charge the price. It

The location was basically a complete semi detached house with access to boiler and all facilities so you could set everything up as you wish. A big bonus for beeing dog friendly!

Amazing view. Good location in the centre of Anstruther. Clean and tidy accommodation. It was easy to get from here to the Pittenweem arts festival by car. Enough parking for two cars at the property.
We found the beds too soft and could feel some springs.

View but nothing else no where to dry your clothes carpet in back bedroom dirty nothing in living room one couch has stains on it where is the sitting area outside and bbq and no dogs upstairs is a joke put throws on because no way I would leave my dogs downstairs all the time we brought our own also no coffee so where do you but your drinks or food no pictures just blank as did not have a good stay also forgot he'd go hard for £875 pounds it was not worth it towels horrible and what was left for washing up as brought are own everything so we will not be back again not at these prices Mr I C Cameron
