Beautiful rooms and setting. We booked the room with private pool which was even more beautiful than the pictures. Hotel is very well themed to the antique train concept and grounds are very well maintained.
Bad start for us with a very delayed check in due to a ‘member’ taking advantage of the late check out benefits. We waited over an hour to check into our room. The property is a bit remote if you don’t have a car. Stock of wines and menu items were very low at our visit(early January) so should have been taken off the menu.
We booked at the French restaurant on our last night and it was very disappointing. Again menu items out of stock (Beef bourguignon - the most simple dish to make). Fish was overcooked with ice cold side dish and sauces and a terribly watery crème brûlée. Staff not really equipped to deal with problems so nothing was done, just plates removed and bill issued despite sending back hardly touched food.
Very dissapointing offerings in such a beautiful setting and for such a large hotel group.

the breakfast was super in food preparation, service and quality. but the dinner was not so impressive and expensive. it cost 240 baht for a bottle of water. the navelty of the bedroom was very well designed with impressive imagination. but the nostalgic sensation was compromized by overall comfort and traditional hotel convenience. the enjoyable parts of the resort were its lush garden with large collection of foriage. the lake side walk was most relaxing.
all staff were enthusiaticly friendly, with smile everywhere. the manager was super freindly and hard working.
the food was pricey. the bedroom was too narrow to move around. the lighting system was a bit complicated and confusing.

The staff were friendly and welcoming in all departments.
There was only one type of room that allowed pets, and the room was very small. Staying in the room was not comfortable.

Very seldom do I go someone that looks exactly as the photos show. It was just beautiful. Big tip - book for the afternoon tea in the railway carriage before you go. Such a lovely experience. Super helpful staff.

garden and surrounding, detailed of interior.
The bed is too big in the bed room, no space between the wall and the bed. Guest need to walk in side way to get in bed.
Food is lower than standard of Intercontinental hotel. Restaurants breakfast is the same menu for 3 mornings.
Dinner in Somying kitchen, Thai food is below average 5 out if 10, Western food is 6 out of 10. They charge too much for local still water 280B before tax and service

We stayed for 4 nights at the lake view room with pool and the experience was thoroughly splendid! The room is intricately decorated with the train theme, along with several fine details like light switches, side panels, luggage racks etc. The layout of the room is very user friendly, especially the veranda which is very cooling with the ceiling fan. The private pool with jacuzzi offers privacy behind the well-placed shrubs whilst offering a glimpse of the swan lake. It was extremely tranquil both day and night. The property is extremely well-kept and the landscaping was well manicured. Staff at the property were very caring and warm. Special mention to Khun Som at the reception for making various arrangements/reservations, Khun Bank who took care of our daily transport arrangements and Khun Noey and Khun Yak who took care of our meals at Somying Kitchen.

food worst in value and plate & bowl (not sure food grade coating or not ..some were small peeling) , room toilet very tight , drain at shower room (like flooding) , room not really private specially "pool villa" the upper room can see our pool close & clearly / room's soundproofed not so well, it is a bit noise ,
