Welcome to the Blue Bungalow at LKN!
Relax and enjoy beautiful Lake Norman in your own private lake front bungalow with an amazing two-level dock and large waterfront yard. Back porch expands the entire house as you enjoy amazing sunset views—making you want to come back time and again!
Tons of amenities await as you and your family relax and lounge the day away. Put your feet up and have a toast with friends from the rooftop dock. Enjoy the kids kayaks, a paddle board, lily pad, waterfront shaded hammocks, corn hole set, adult and kid bicycles, scooters, and a pool table. We also have a Weber Grill for grilling your favorite summer dinners and many porch tables and chairs for seating friends and family.
Our simple and cozy bungalow has been completely renovated and remodeled with a new kitchen, paint and flooring throughout, new bathrooms, lighting fixtures and Santorini Blue paint to make it the "Blue Bungalow."
The home boasts three (3) bedrooms that can accommodate up to 10 people—perfect for getaways and family retreats. One of the bedrooms is specifically designed for kids (bunkbeds, toys, games, books, DVDs and a TV).
All bedrooms have Roku Smart TVs. So…bring your Netflix, Hulu, Disney, etc. passwords and sign in like you’re at home. Wireless internet is FREE throughout home and on the dock.
In the evenings while enjoying cocktails and sunsets, you can sit by the backyard fire pit while making s'mores or enjoy the upper deck of the dock watching boaters go by as the sun sets in the expanse of a Carolina blue sky.
Plenty of seating and umbrellas are on the upper dock as well as the porch overlooking the lake from the house. Our property has a large backyard for hours of throwing ball or tossing frisbee with your kids or beloved dog.
There is also a specifically designed, raised pebble rock patio area in the backyard that is flat and perfect for hours of corn-hole matches or pitching a tent(s) to camp outside overnight, while listening to the sounds of crickets and lake waves.
**For 4th of July renters…you will have an amazing show of fireworks in the cove to watch from the dock. There are many individuals all around our large cove area and lake that put on amazing firework shows. It is a must-see event as many boaters come to our cove area to anchor and watch the 360 degree firework displays!
Linens/bath towels are provided. We have beach towels available and will provide one towel for each guest for the duration of your stay.
Kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, cookware, utensils, coffee maker with reusable filter, Keurig, and also kid-friendly plates, cups, utensils. (Please contact us if you need to know specifics of what is available.) We also have a set of dog bowls and mat for your furry family member!
Laundry room has washer and dryer. There is also a small freezer for extra storage (for meats, ice, popsicles, etc.).
We also provide life jackets for all shapes and sizes (including a dog life jacket) that can be used at your own risk, and coolers for enjoying cold beverages on the dock or on your boat rental*.
*There are several boat rental places in the area for you to rent any type of watercraft. A tie up with boat bumpers and protective rub rails is available for your use on our floating dock during your stay.
You can rent or bring your own boat, drop in at Beatty’s Ford Access and easily navigate back to our dock in less 8 minutes. Drive time from the Blue Bungalow to Beattys Ford Access is less than 5 minutes.
Beattys Ford Access also has a beautiful park and an amazing splash pad for your kids if they need a change of scenery.
The Blue Bungalow is conveniently located to area attractions, including restaurants, grocery stores, salons, Triangle's best butcher store, etc. Uptown Charlotte is right down Hwy 16 and only 35 minutes away. Birkdale Village in Huntersville is 20 minutes away, providing wonderful shopping, movie theatre and restaurants. Carowinds Amusement Park is 40 minutes away…an easy interstate drive.

HOUSE RULES:
Our pontoon boats are stored at our dock. No renters or guests are allowed on our pontoon boats to sit or hang out. Owners reserve the right to briefly come to remove our boats at any time. We will provide a courtesy text to let you know if/when this will take place. Owners will not be loitering around the dock during this quick process.
Absolutely no jumping is allowed off second level of the dock. There are NO JUMPING signs posted. Due to fluctuating lake water levels, you MUST follow this important safety rule! If renters are caught jumping off the second level of the dock, you will be asked to leave the property without refund.
DOG DISCLOSURE:
Dogs are NOT allowed on the beds. Please be respectful and follow this simple rule. The bed linens that are provided to you are in excellent condition. As much as we love all dogs, we do NOT allow aggressive dogs. This means your dog should be able to run freely and mingle/play with other dogs/people without any issue or past history of aggression in these situations.
**WE DO NOT ALLOW CATS. OUR SON IS HIGHLY ALLERGIC AND SO ARE OTHER POSSIBLE RENTERS. PLEASE DO NOT BRING CATS AS YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT REFUND.**
**Please pick up your dog’s waste in the provided poop bags and collect them in the small container outside next to the roll out trash can.
No glassware from kitchen is permitted on the outside of house. Please use Tervis Tumblers provided for enjoying a cold beverage on the deck or dock. Exceptions are allowed for wine and beer bottles.
Our bungalow is in a residential neighborhood at the end of a peninsula, inside a cul-de-sac. It’s perfect for long walks, bike rides and scootering. However, at no time are parties or large events permitted on the property.
Please note: Our outside perimeter is monitored with security cameras for everyone's safety. If the security cameras are tampered with, renters will be asked to leave the property without refund.
A professional billiard table with brand new covering is provided for your enjoyment. To prevent spill and stains, please do not place any food or drinks on top of the billiard table.
Your Roku TVs are brand new and very lightweight. They can be moved to another location inside the house if you prefer but please do not bring them outside for "the game!"
The upper dock's very large umbrella must be collapsed during windy conditions and at night to prevent damages.
The upper dock's seat cushions around the sectional sofa you'll enjoy are light weight, too. We kindly ask that you place them underneath the wicker sofa sections for safe keeping, if you see a storm coming.

Upon Booking:
***If you book through Expedia, we are only listed as pet friendly and there isn't a place to indicate you are bringing a dog. We charge a $150 non-refundable pet fee and this can be found if you book directly through Vrbo. However, it isn't an option through Expedia. Kindly inform us upon booking that you are bringing your dog so we can assess the $150 fee to your booking. If you do not disclose bringing a dog prior to check out, you will be assessed a $250 additional fee for last minute arrangements of cleaning/disinfecting of the rental property.

Upon Arrival:

We enjoyed our stay so much!!! The blue bungalow was furnished with all of our needs. The host left us a welcoming basket which the grandchildren loved. They also loved the kayaks and paddle board. This is definitely a relaxing vacation spot. Hope to return in the future!!

We had an absolute wonderful stay at Lake Norman. The house was perfect. Clean, well stocked, and comfortable. Leah had a welcome basket with goodies for us when we arrived. We spent the month of April at the Blue Bungalow. The house met all of our expectations and the hosts were quick to respond to any questions or needs. The guys had a great month of fishing and having the dock was extra nice for easy access to the boat. We loved sitting on the deck to enjoy the awesome view. We even got some great sunset pictures from the top level of the dock. We definitely hope to stay again. We were able to meet the owners, Leah and Shawn, when they came over to take care of the yard. They are super people. We truly enjoyed meeting them. And the cherry blossoms were beautiful. We loved our time at Lake Norman.

Everything about the stay was wonderful! Great location, house was organized, deck with all the activities to do was fantastic and fun, and the owners communicated perfectly by checking in and answering any questions. Would highly recommend to stay here for a trip!!!

I would recommend this place to everyone! Great location on the quiet west side of Lake Norman. We live in Charlotte and needed a little getaway. We stayed at the Blue Bungalow for four days and wish we had the time to stay for another couple days! This is a beautiful property and location with incredible views. The home was so comfortable and peaceful and we had a stress free check-in. The rental is decorated perfectly and it was very clean!! The home is stocked with everything you could need and then some. Cozy and comfortable beds and there are lots of toys and items for playing in the lake. We especially enjoyed riding the bicycles through the neighborhoods, taking evening walks, fishing and sitting by the fire pit. The two-story boat dock is amazing and star gazing and counting shooting stars late at night on its top deck was a real highlight. Our host was so nice and accommodating and was very responsive and easy to communicate with when we wanted to know about using the firewood we didn’t know was provided. We had an awesome time! So peaceful, quiet and quaint. We will definitely be back!

We rented this the week of Christmas as it was close to another family member’s house, so location was great for us. It is at the end of a road, so minimal traffic. It has a beautiful view of the lake. It is an older home/cabin, but has been updated some. The host was able to accommodate an early check in which was appreciated. The host was also very responsive with any of the minor issues we had. A lot of necessities were also included and available which was nice. There was a slight musty odor to the place which was improved with some air fresheners. We didn’t use the deck much and did not use the pier or lake due to it being December. The beds were comfortable. Overall it is a nice lake cottage that I would rent again.

My family and I are local to Denver and due to a water leak restoration going on at our house decided to move out to a quieter place for a week. Blue Bungalow was perfect for our needs. The house is very clean and so well supplied. The lake view was beautiful as well and was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. I bet it is a wonderful summertime getaway with the lake access and something we may try to do in the future.

We had a very relaxing stay. The property is right on the lake with plenty of of outside space to enjoy. The kitchen is nicely appointed (we cooked a lot). The pool table was a fun activity and we even used the bikes. It was a great stay.

Great location! Relaxing with an amazing view and all the amenities one could dream for! Wonderful deck! Comfy Hammocks by the lake with wonderful breeze and trees! Paddle board, Kayaking, Swing on the dock! Wonderful walking neighborhood area! Walked over 16,000 steps per day. Comfy beds, small pet friendly, Steps off the dock into the lake for easy swimming! Loved our stay will return! Kids would love this place! We were 3 adults and enjoyed everything about place and area! Wonderful restaurants in the area especially loved Fresh Chef!

The "Blue Bungalow" was just as advertised!! We had a fishing tournament and a couple of us had our wives.
The bedrooms were roomy, a fully socked kitchen and 2 nice bathrooms. The spot on the lake was BEAUTIFUL!!!!
We had deer come through the yard every day!! I highly recommend this property for a family retreat or to all of my fishing friends!!!

We spent some precious family time here in this beautiful home with no need to leave! All possible amenities were provided. Barbecues every night, trips on the Lake and mornings on the cool deck made for the perfect location. Our doggie was also made to feel not just “ permitted” but welcome! Quiet location but close to shops and eateries! Absolutely loved our 6 nights here!

The 4 of us had a fabulous time staying at Blue Bungalow. The dock was great for fishing, swimming and sunning. The house was comfortable, met our needs, and we enjoyed our time at Lake Norman very much.

The “Blue Bungalow” was perfect for our family of 4. Hade more room available if we had needed. All though we decided to leave our dogs with sitter it is a very dog friendly place. Dock was amazing!! Loved our vacation and hope to do it again some day!! Thanks Leah for everything!

We had such a great time staying for 2 weeks at the Blue Bungalow. The house had everything we needed and the welcome basket was such a great touch! The view from the living room windows we saw everyday was amazing and even better at the fantastic two tiered dock! Watching the Fourth of July fireworks from the top deck was spectacular. We brought our own boat and there is a great place to tie it up at the dock. Enjoyed exploring Lake Norman!

Our family absolutely loved staying in this home!! Great location! The big umbrella saved my skin from the brutal sun. My kids lived the kayaks and swimming in the lake. We also enjoyed playing pool and consistently had a game running all week. Leah was responsive whenever I had a question which were few bc instructions were detailed. Even the neighbors were really nice! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

From the beginning I had a feeling this was going to be a great trip. Leah was welcoming and communicative and a pleasure to talk to. The house is just as welcoming, little touches everywhere that make you feel at home. We loved the the dock and used the top deck the moment we arrived. Having come from a week or so of rain, the sun and dock called to us. If you are looking for a nice place to stay and an owner who is welcoming- then this is your place !

This is a great location for a quiet get away and activity packed vacation all at once. Took two teens here for the week and they had a great time. The yard is big enough to play games and still have an area to get away from the action at the same time. Beautiful views and comfortable living space. We decided we really didn’t need to bring much as this space is set up to have just about everything you need.

Communication leading up to the trip was very clear and informative. Minor adjustments and service needs were shared and they checked with us before sending over contractors to work in the yard, which was very considerate. The home was equipped with just about anything you would need. Wonderful grilling options on the deck, plentiful seating outside and on the dock, and a beautiful fire pit. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend this place for a family looking to enjoy the 'lake life' for a week.
The home location is about 5-10 minutes away from restaurants and grocery stores (Food Lion, Wal-mart, Harris Teeter). Food recommendations: Lobster Dog, Foundry, Chillfire Bar and Grills. For rainy days, check out Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park for the kids.

We really enjoyed our time at the Blue Bungalow. The owner’s description and photos gave a very accurate portrayal of the property. The view is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to take advantage of all the activities available because we stayed during cold weather, but the owner provides a lot of equipment that would allow us to do so if it had been warmer. She was also very accessible any time we had a question or issue. The property is nicely secluded but close to shopping, restaurants, etc. Denver had a lot more than we expected and you’re a fairly short drive to Huntersville and less than an hour from Charlotte. We would definitely stay there again.

This home was the perfect location for our family gathering. We gathered to celebrate our Father's 75th Birthday. It was our first time at Lake Norman. The home was equipped with all neccesties for indoor and outdoor activities. There were even special personal touches by the gracious hosts. The memories we made here are sure to last a lifetime. You will not be disappointed with this beautiful home and its proximity to local attractions and restaurants. We look forward to spending time here again.

There were plenty of chairs both inside and out to relax and kick back. Wi-Fi worked well. Family enjoyed the dock and lily pad. You won't lack for anything to do. Our week at The Blue Bungalow was perfect. We were a mix age group from 24 - 60 and were as active or lazy as we wanted to be! This home had everything you could need, inside and out. Seriously, you dont need to bring a thing but yourself (and your bathing suit/toothbrush)! The house was very clean, well stocked and organized. The landscape was manicured and Lakeview awesome! So many outside land and water "toys", we ran out of days before doing it all! Hope to do this again next summer!

We had an amazing family trip at the Blue Bungalow! Leah has thought of everything! Lots for all ages to do. Bikes, paddle board, kayaks, pedal boat, lily pad, pool table and more! Very comfortable beds! We all slept great. The dock is in a perfect location, the kids had a blast swimming off the dock. We hope to return next year!

We had an amazing trip to Lake Norman! The place was better than expected and the perfect blue bungalow! They had everything cleanly set up and organized. The docks and the views were amazing! We had a family of 7 with 5 kids, it was very accommodating and they were very entertained! Will definitely be back!

The host/hostess was very attentive, making sure we got into the house and if we needed anything. Home was clean and well equipped; lake toys, card/board games, kitchen utensils/appliances, towels, etc. Beautiful sunsets and friendly neighbors; a relaxing and wonderful stay.
