It was a beautiful property. I loved hearing the roosters in the morning.!

Convenient to other parts of Guadeloupe island 🇬🇵 that we wanted to tour. Private Beach, Pool, great view and easy access to offshire Island by Ferry ⛴ 1/4 mile away.

Property was decent. Towels threadbare, phone didn’t work in my room. Some hair in the bathroom, shower head was adjustable, but just slid down to be below my shoulder. Weird quirks, for fair amount of money!

Great views of the ocean, beautiful historic buildings, friendly and attentive staff.

My favorite hotel in Guadeloupe, great location and delicious food.

I love the property, my only issue is with the internet service. It works in some parts of the hotel and you constantly have to turn it on.

First impressions of the hotel was very pleasant and the staff were super friendly with a complimentary rum to get you in the island spirit!
It’s important to mention that the island is French/Creole speaking and although many can speak English, it’s not always easy! My French is limited and I found people to be very helpful and kind however, my experience would have been improved if I could speak the lingo a bit better!
I was in an ocean view room and it was stunning to look out every morning and watch the little green lizards and iguanas!
However! The hotel internals are very tired and the standard of finish is poor. If you are used too city hotels then you will be disappointed.
The room was clean but things like black on the shower head and old silicone etc makes the room feel less so.
The walkway between the main building and apartments is home to some very very noisy birds and they chirp all through the night!
The restaurant food was fantastic although unfortunately has zero atmosphere. The menu is limited and quite expensive. I suggest getting out to see the island and try new things.
The hotel reception team were more than happy to give me suggestions of places to try. Especially Emily who also booked taxis for me and helped decipher my terrible French, she was a pleasure to meet.
There is loads to do across the island. Go out to Saint Francois, hike the volcano and have a drink
I’m the marina! I will be back to visit Gwada!

Overall very happy with the stay though the hotel was a little dated, with limited facilities, but very friendly staff who put themselves out to be as helpful as possible all of the time.

We loved the ambiance of the hotel. The view of the sea and the sound of the surf lulled us to sleep nightly. Food was delicious. Staff friendly. Don’t miss the ferry ride to the lighthouse island for lunch. We saw no other hotel with the quiet beach, great swimming pool and overall charm. We’ll be back!

Air Conditioning in the room was deffective and we had to move to a different room which meant having to repack all of our luggages.

The staff was lovely and very welcoming. The buffet breakfast had a good selection. Dinner was very good and there was outdoor seating with a view of the ocean. However the hotel is in need of a renovation. The bathroom in my room was quite old and there was very low water pressure in the shower. The bed was comfortable and there is WiFi throughout the hotel. The cushions on the lounge chairs by the pool and ocean were quite old and should be replaced. Location is good. I think it is a bit overpriced for the condition the hotel is in. It is not up to the standard of what a 4-star Hotel should be.

It was difficult to get to the pool from our room. The shower and the bath in the room did not drain properly. They both overflowed onto the floor. The door to the bath in the bedroom was squeaking very loudly and would wake the the other person in the room.

We are a couple coming from NY. The hotel is in a great location and felt very safe. The rooms are basic but nice. The hotel itself is beautiful. Especially the private beach where you can also eat lunch. It’s paradise. All employees were very helpful and professional. We’d definitely stay here again.

Like many other reviewers said this place is clean but could use a serious update. The service was so so, breakfast and lunch pretty blah, and the beds were horrifyingly uncomfortable (this is coming from someone who backpacked Southeast Asia on a shoestring for 2 months so it’s not like I’m picky about my beds). The saving grace was the pool/beach area which is lovely! As well as the location, Gosier is a fun little area to stay in!

My wife and I came to Guadeloupe for an extended weekend in the off season in November primarily due to a very cheap airfare. We loved the island, it is not commercialized like many others at Caribbean, but has some great untouched nature and beautiful views.
The best part about the property is it’s location: we rented a car and were about 60 min max to any part of both islands. LaDacha beach is not fancy, there are a lot better beaches to visit on the islands. The resort offers free breakfast which is quite good, if you don’t mind the bird waiting around for a guest to leave a lid on one of the dishes open. There is a restaurant and a snack shack on premises that has meals and drinks for purchase. Drinks at the hotel are overpriced (even at the happy hour) you can go to small restaurants nearby for drinks that a half the price. Meals are nice and a priced fairly. There is also a small private beach and a nice deep pool. The building is a historic sugar plantation tower. It has a lot of history and character. Rooms are not very modern and could use an update (particularly beds are rather old and need new mattresses) We did not have internet in the room, in fact, I struggled getting it anywhere on the premises. It was not a big deal for us, however. We also did not have hot water for one of the days of our stay, of which we were notified by a note in French. Personally, I think hotel could have sweetened the blow by offering a complimentary drink or a credit for a dinner.

All staff members were great. Special praise goes to Miss Sylvanie, working the morning breakfast: Mr Thomas, working the bar; everyone working the snack shack on the beach; and the housekeeping staff-they were amazing.

An Auberge is an inn. This inn has the authentic look and feel of a historic place - which it is - the front tower being an original windmill (centuries old) for grinding sugar cane. The lobby, dining porch, bar and dining area have the look and feel of Casablanca. Charming. The breakfasts (included) are standard European fare with fruit, charcuterie, warm foods, good bread and kitchen made omelettes and crepes. Eating it on the porch that overlooks the ocean and the Le Gosier marina is worth the price of admission. If you are looking for the all-inclusive, sit-by-the-pool, great beach, activity experience, LAuberge is not for you, but why, in Guadaloupe, would anyone want that? You can get that on other islands or at Club Med. Guadaloupe is meant to be explored. LAuberge is perfect for that because you are in the body of the butterfly with equal access to Basse-Terre and Grand-Terre. Very decent restaurants nearby down by the Casino. You should try to get a room in the main building or the first tier (separate building) below. The rooms are not luxe, but clean and perfectly adequate in a B and B sort of way, tight on storage. Different reviews cite issues with staff. I totally disagree. Look, Guadaloupe is French and proud of it. Reception staff are generally fine with English and will make reservations for all sorts of activities. Wait staff are not as well-versed and some friendliness, a word or two of French (like bon jour, merci, sil vous plait) goes a long way.
