On arrival it took almost an hour to check in, when I asked why it was taking so long I was informed that the room I booked was not available. i was finally given a room but although I was told it was like for like, it was not in the main hotel and was quite far from the restaurants and entertainment area. I will make sure my booking is confirmed in the main hotel building next time.

we loved the kitchen on the balcony, however missing a few key items like: a sponge, towel and dishwashing liq. a knife that wasn't dull, 2 reg size coffee cups. Our room has two bed moved together as one, Sad as the room is listed as a king which was what was expected.

Unfortunately we had to wait until 6:32pm to get our room, which was on the 3rd floor of the last building; we were tired, it was humid, the AC didn't work properly, the fridge did not cool, and all the channels were in French. None of the staff knew enough English to be of assistance; they did their best, but that was just not enough. I am guessing that they cater to Europeans and not to English speaking people. Breakfast was 27 Euros per person, that was excessive. I would never stay there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

i Liked this hotel, the room, the amenities, the piano bar with a good music, the nice a la crate restaurant, and all you can eat restaurant too. I found good coffe and good wine. It’s a very good area close the city too.

Having read some reviews we were worried to the extent of wondering if we should cancel. Our experience was so at variance with what was being said we'd have been forgiven for thinking it was another Hotel. We had a first floor room with balcony and balcony kitchenette offering a lovely view of the beach and surrounding gardens. Lovely location for supper and breakfast. Yes, we were joined by birds but of the chaffinch sized variety, not Hitchcock's "The Birds". The room was clean, comfortable and regularly serviced. The shower and bathroom were well appointed, well supplied with wash products and again kept spotless. At minimal cost we had wi fii passwords for 4 devices for our 13 night stay. Air conditioning was very effective! We were also supplied with a drying rack on the balcony and ironing board/iron should we have felt the need. We hired a car, on site parking was free and it was easy to visit all parts of the Island. Most roads were tarmacked, those not were a bit potholed. Some of the road layouts and priority were a bit hair raising. Dining unless you have an all inclusive deal could prove costly especially if you were travelling with family but the buffet meals we sampled offered great choice and was a good way to sample many different types of food. The dance displays were well worth seeing and the Christmas and New year Festivities were fun. Effort had been made. Did we enjoy our stay? YES. Would we want to return? DEFINITELY.

Totally unapropriate four star valuation! Not even a 2star! humidity, door not working, teracce door not easily opened, expect nice modern lobby and restaurant rooms were not renovated from 80ties! Total disaster not worth pricing! \We changed first room immediately from seilling there were drops of water and all our stuff was wet in a few hours not being in room. Other room high humidity no circulation door very hard to open.not satisfied that we paid 200Eur, real value and standard is equal to value 50EUR/per night!!!

Upon arrival, I was confused because when the taxi driver dropped us off, the name of the hotel was not the hotel l reserved. After checking in, I realized there were several hotels combined in one and there are blocks of room that are in the Mahogany section of the hotel - confusing I know. Our stay started off horrible because the taxi driver quoted us one price and then when he dropped us off stated another price. He became so belligerent that the receptionist had to come assist. He charged us $30 more dollars then the normal price. After checking in, we were put into a room that we did not reserve - bathtub would not probably drained, it smelled a bit, and the overall it was meh! We informed the front desk about the error, but was told that we'd have to come back in the morning because the manager wasn't around. To smooth things over we received free wifi - meh! After receiving the correct room - we asked to be compensated in which the manager replied, "We fixed it, everything is fine now." The hotel was situated near the beach and there was a nice bar and pool area. The drinks were a decent price, but the restaurant charged a whopping amount for a buffet - we passed. What really took the cake, was upon check out the receptionist informed us we owed 630 euros - even after checking in on the first day - I asked was everything covered and paid for and was told yes - by the same receptionist. We went back and forth for a good 30 minutes - even after I had to call expedia on

This hotel was dark, pitiful beach, and pitiful food and drinks, both restaurants. The only decent restaurant was the pizza beach restaurant, however it was very slow service. There was terrible lighting in the room, my ocean view room which really you had to stand on your toes to look over a corner of the roof to see it. Would nvpever go back to Guadeloupe because of all the misrepresentations. It is very difficult to drive around, everything is over an hour away from everything else, and in general a Very disappointing trip...worst ever!

Check In: We arrived at the resort after 8 pm. I was disappointed to find that our room was not ready. We were offered a drink at the bar while we waited. The room was ready in about 30 minutes. Of note; the Mahogany and La Creole Resort and Spa are the same hotels. This was a bit confusing at first. The rooms are located in dormitory style buildings with outdoor corridors, very outdated.Room: I reserved a room with a queen size bed but was given a room with 2 twin beds pushed together. The room lighting was very poor; there was a floodlight type fixture at the entrance and two tiny spotlights built into the headboard. There is an outdoor kitchen on the balcony, which included a mini fridge, electric stove, dishes, pots, etc. not bad for those who plan to cook while on vacation. Wi-Fi worked ok. Only 240 volts available, I purchased a plug kit at Best Buy. I had no issues charging my iPhone and iPad. Check your electronics voltage requirements before you travel.Restaurants: We had our meals at La Route Des Epices and Le Zawag. Both had good ambience, however the evening meal at La Route Des Epices is a buffet which lacked variety/same choices each time got old by the second day. Dinner at Le Zawag was ok. The Bar area overlooks the pool nice place to hang out and relax.Beach: The beach was ok, a little rocky in areas close to the pier. Minimal amenities. Jet Skies were available and a sand volleyball court

The rooms were comfortable, clean, stylish, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The views from the balconies were lovely and the balcony kitchenette was adequately stocked and very handy. The bathrooms were very nice, modern, very clean. Our only complaint was that there could be more hooks or shelf space, and the lighting could be a little better. The fact that the Mahogany is one of several buildings within the La Creole Hotel complex was a little confusing at first. The hotel staff was generally very helpful and pleasant; a few exceptions, especially in the buffet restaurant. Definitely a snobby bias against those who are not fluent in French! Be warned if you are English-speaking and not French-fluent that most staff outside of the front desk do not speak much English and misunderstandings can result. The food in the buffet, breakfast and dinner, is good-to-excellent. The pool is beautiful. The beach and swimming cove were just so-so, but the option of being taken out to Islet de Gossier just offshore, upon request, more than made up for it. Many amenities in the hotel and pretty grounds, like a good bar and much comfy common space for hanging out, made for an extremely pleasant stay.

This is a building which is part of a huge "tourist factory" (Creole beach)with rooms and regulations that make you feel more in prison than on vacations. Even the pool is surrounded by glass walls. Food is disgusting and prices are outrageously high.
I don't recommend.

I chose the hotel using reviews from other visitors. We were island hopping and wanted four nights in Guadeloupe. I was not dissapointed. The Mahogany Hotel is part of a much bigger complex of four hotels which are part of the Creole Beach Hotel complex in Gosier. It is situated on the Pointe de la Verdure in Gosier. The room was spacious and very clean and included a kitchen out on the balcony. Our room was in a very quiet location; the maids were not knocking on the door early in the morning. Staff very friendly and polite. Excellent swimming pools and private beach. We used the hotel restaurant once for breakfast and twice for dinner and found it to be of good quality. Breakfast is 15 Euros each and dinner buffet is 30 Euros. I was pleasantly surprised that a bottle of rose wine was only 7 Euros!!! Saturday night was the buffet barbecue and very popular. We have no complaints about the hotel except that the bar prices are steep!!! Gosier is about a 15 minute walk away and there is not much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. However, the beaches in Gosier are very good. We found the locals very friendly and willing to chat and help especially in one attempts to speak French. Pointe a Pitre is a 3 Euro bus ride away. Guadeloupe in actually part of the European Union so no messing arround with immigration docs upon arrival!

Beautiful bar. Wonderful food. Nice, but not exceptional, room. Overall, a wonderful experience.

The hotel is being renovated, making it difficult to find Reception, then park the car, and then get to the room with luggage, due to a lot of fences and hills, and no handicapped access. The room itself was very disappointing for what is called a 3 star hotel. We reserved a king bed but found 2 twin beds. There were no windows in the room; the only way to get natural light was to open up a roll-up door that opened right at ground level. So, our choice was zero privacy and light or darkness and privacy. The drapes were useless because they totally blocked the light, even when the door was open. The tile floor gives an industrial feel, but makes sense for all the dirt and mud that got treked in due to all the rain. Because of all the moisture, the room smelled a little moldy. The beach compared to other public beaches was disappointing, but the pool was great. 3 different areas, so there was plenty of pool area for laps or families playing. Everything in the complex looked old and in need of repair or a good paint job. The fitness center had old equipment, some of which did not turn on, and was only open for 3 hours on a Sunday. Overall, the best things about the hotel were the pool and the satellite TV. We didn't spend much time in the room.

The place is a nice basic place to stay. The rooms are clean and spacious enough. The little kitchnette on the balcony was nice. We had breakfast and lunch there often (saves money and is a nice relaxing way to dine). The beach is small and crowded tho', definitely a disappointment.

I enjoyed the hotel very much. The staff were very nice and friendly.
