We had a lovely stay at the Forest of Arden Hotel & Spa. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the thoughtful gesture of a welcome plate of desserts and a personalised note in our room for our anniversary made it even more special. The lobby had a lovely scent, which added to the welcoming atmosphere.
We also made use of the pool, which was nice and refreshing. However, while we appreciated the hospitality, the room itself felt a bit dated, with some paint chipped off the walls. Additionally, we were disappointed that the bar near the lobby closed before midnight, leaving us with no other options to enjoy a drink. Room service also stopped at 10:30 pm, which limited our late-night choices.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we’d stay again and recommend it due to its close proximity to the city and the N.E.C. There’s room for improvement in the amenities and room maintenance.

Two night stay staff very welcoming and helpful and room nice

The bed was one of the most uncomfortable Ive slept on. It had a feather mattress topper and the feathers were in a mound at the bottom of the bed. Terrible night trying to sleep...

Third time we have stayed and we will be back. Love the facilities and location, food and service very good.
Yes some areas are a little tired but for a hotel of its age its well looked after.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a couple, our room was lovely & the bed was really comfortable. However there were 2 bath robes hanging up, one was fluffy & soft, but the other one felt like you were wearing a bit of old carpet, wasnt comfortable at all.
The tea making facilities in the room were great, the espresso machine was a nice added extra but there was only decaffeinated pods available... absolutely pointless.
The hotel was generally clean & tidy apart from there were trays of food left in the hallway for 5+ hours.
We went to the "fine dining" restaurant in the hotel on our first night, it was completely empty & now we know why. Fine dining it is not. Paying £37 for 3 tiny lamb cutlets & it coming with chunky chips is not fine. The burgers were lovely but certainly not worth £25, didnt even come with a bit of salad! We ate in the relaxed bar by the pool the rest of the time which was much more relaxed.
The pool & jacuzzi are lovely, theres a sauna & steam room too but unfortunately it was closed one of the days we were there which was disappointing.
The bar staff were great, quick to be served.
Breakfast buffet had a huge selection & tasted lovely but we had to wait to be seated each day as the staff were mostly down in the seating area

Fantastic stay!
Lovely breakfast.
It was my son’s birthday and he mentioned this when checking in. When we arrived back in the room there was a birthday surprise waiting for him. Very thoughtful and lovely touch.

We were looking for a not crazy expensive hotel that’s drivable to the NEC and were very pleasantly surprised. Staff were super friendly and efficient, leafy surroundings are beautiful, the room was roomy and comfortable, and the food top notch. Recommend the buffet breakfast.
Only regrets: we couldn’t stay longer and there’s not a huge difference between the deluxe and superior room if you’re thinking of upgrading.

Whether was dismal but the stay was excellent although checking could be earlier than 4pm.

The staff are amazing and very welcoming. The rooms have become tired and could do with a make over to improve cleanliness.
Breakfast was amazing with a great selection. This was my third visit to the hotel, but wont look to return anytime soon.

Large hotel and beautiful grounds, was amazing seeing the deer in the morning. great pool sauna and leisure facilities only negative is the cardio room felt crowded with kit but equally it’s amazing they had so much.
Large comfortable room.

Very pleased with our room, the room & bathroom were cleaned to a high standard.

Very good stay overall and worth the money. Receptionist could have been more clued up about the restaurant offerings, but that’s a minor quibble. Pool was very nice. We ordered dinner at the sports bar and the staff went out of their way to bring it up to our room due to demanding children! Nice walks around the golf course

Great hotel, will definitely return

Definitely avoid in future. Heard poor reports from others but gave it a chance. Ugh! Silverfish in the room too. Restaurant poor also. Never again.

Lovely large room with super king size bed. Comfy chairs and table. Lighting could be improved as no main ceiling light. Tv kept going off after about 30 minutes which was frustrating.

Lovely setting, on 2 golf courses with deer roaming all around. Rooms large and clean. Staff all very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast excellent good choice.

lest a day early due to family reasons but this influenced by the amount of noise and activity in corridor outside room, doors banging shouting etc. up to 3am.
apart from needing soft close on doors hotel and staff are positive.

Used to be a great hotel, rooms are dated.. bar & restaurant staff are Ok, reception staff are useless

Lovely place, quite an old building. Expensive food, but good quality. Breakfasts were slightly cold. But overall beautiful hotel.

Our stay was a chance for 3 friends to meet up from across the UK. We don't ask for much, just nice coffee with somewhere comfy to sit and drink it and chat. A nice pool to relax by and spaces to chill out. A comfy room to rest in and recouporate. Sadly it wasny quite any of these things. There are no comfy sofas in the cafe area and the coffee was machine made. The pool was very dated and only 1 lounger so no where to relax and enjoy the spa facilities. There was a room upstairs in the treatment area however this cold and not very comfortable and only accessable when you book treatmens. The treatments were really lovely and this was the highlight.
Breakfast was really good too, so much choice. Again the coffee was machine made so not very nice but the food was good.
The rooms were dated and the beds not the most comfortable. We all woke with a headache that wasnt down to drinking!
The hotel has so much potential and some small changes would make all the difference. I believe the hotel is being bought out which explains the feeling of the hotel being neglected.

The hotel wasn’t signposted very well but it was great service from the gate onwards. Large, clean room with all the amenities and friendly, helpful staff. Looks popular with golfers. I would definitely stay again.
2.0
The dining area was very noisy due to the willy waving by the mail golfers, as they were not with there wives. The fire alarm went off and although there were fire exits in the dining area the procedure was to guide guest through to reception area and out the front door. Cold water in the morning so the early morning shower was a bit bracing. Paintwork looks tired. Although the rooms booked should of been the same they were not. Take you hiking boots, wheel chair or Zimmer frame with you as it is a large hotel and the higher numbered rooms involve a long walk

We stayed at the hotel as we had an early morning flight from Birmingham Airport. It was ideal, a 10 minute drive away. The room was lovely comfy bed and pillows, quality products in the immaculate bathroom.
As it was pouring down we ate in the sports bar, nice meal. Can't fault the stay for a reasonable price.
