Common areas still quite nice in this once nice property that’s seen better days. Rooms on the other hand in pretty sad shape. Bathtubs that need to be reglazed with rust showing through in spots where they’re worn down to metal. Porcelain sink had a very large crack, granite in front had two very large cracks where someone must have rammed it with a scooter or something so kept reassuring ourselves that if what still affixed well enough to not fall on our feet. Faucet tarnished green. Bottom of shower curtain liner had mold spots on it, pillows were so old nothing left but broken chunks of lumpy foam :-( Spotty internet & tv signal scrambled on all but a few stations our last day, could go on & on but you get the picture

Great location, lots of charm, feels like home. An older hotel resort but unlike the newer ones out their this one has a personality. Very homey , restful and historic.

One of the reasons we chose this location was because it said there was a restaurant and a bar. The was NOT a bar and the only semblance of a restaurant was the breakfast buffet area, which had the eggs and biscuits with gravy only on the weekend. The staff were all very excellent and professional.

It was so dirty and gross my wife and I decided to leave after we checked in and saw our room. We are trying to get our money back for our cancelled reservations. there was floss on the floor, when you looked closely at everything, including the sheets, pillows, carpet, bathroom, it was stained and dingy. Would not recommend anyone stay there

The stay was fine. The room was clean and the bed excellent. Service was beyond standard.

My room smelled very clean, it was spotless. My bed was very comfortable. The room temp was perfect. The hostess was very polite :) they were playing a disney movie on the big screen in the lounge with aa warm fireplace. Pool was not cold (hampton inn suites is very chilly for kids). Had a hot tub too. The breakfast was continental. It was convenient to colonial wmbg.

- very outdated
- the first room we were given was dirty. The carpet was stained, the furniture was old and beat up. The bathtub was dirty and and multiple pieces of hair in it so I asked to be moved to another room.
- the 2nd room was the same except the tub was clean. I had to clean the return ducts because they were caked with hair and dirt. We stayed the night in this room but it was just gross. They gave us a first floor room because we originally were going to bring our dog but did not so in hopes of getting a better room they moved us to the 2nd floor and that was even worse.
The stairwells smelled like urine and desks, the carpet throughout the hotel was tattered and pulled up, definitely a tripping hazard. The only nice part of the hotel was the lobby area.
In our last room the bathroom door kept sticking and finally wouldn’t open. They came up, ripped out the handle and replaced it and did not clean up the broken wood and paint chips. When I called the front desk they said they would try to come up to clean it. The toilet was also leaking whenever you flushed it. I finally decided to check out.
It was a big disappointment.

Found a used, fake nail in my bed indicating the bed had not been changed out. Nothing was done about it. Bathroom was tiny and dirty. Whole experience was gross.

I rented three rooms for three days. This hotel has such potential but we were terribly disappointed. To start, it is run down. It could be so cute, but they obviously aren’t putting any money into maintenance. They have big and rodent problems. There were tiny worms throughout our room. We were killing them and cleaning them up throughout our stay. There was a mouse in my parents room. Thankfully, they switched my parents to a new room. The showers are extremely slippery, both my mother and I fell. Lastly, the beds are terrible. They don’t feel like they’ve been replaced since the 80’s. The only saving grace is the staff. The staff was all very friendly, and very accommodating when we saw the mouse in my parents room.

It was definitely a spot for me and the kids to relax for 3 days and my kids loved. The indoor pool amenity as I enjoyed the jacuzzi. The only thing I didn’t like is they lock up the balcony on the winter time, so you couldn’t access it. But I would definitely return and stay again.

This is an old hotel. I'm sure in it's day it was quite lovely but age has taken it's toll. Staff is excellent. Pleasant and professional. Problems taken care of immediately.

Had issues with the toilet.

The hotel is outdated. The heating system was not working & the air conditioning ducts were really dirty. The room had many broken parts & unpleasant odor. It needed some renovations & repairing work. The lobby was nice. Overall it is an overpriced hotel.

Unfortunatley this place needs help. The lobby looks nice, but once you get onto your floor, the atmosphere changes. Carpets dirty. Found dead roaches in the bathroom. Mold throughout shower. Dead bugs in light fixtures. Paint peeling off walls. Holes/knicks in walls. Completely worn out hallways. I am sure the cleaning staff does their best with what they have to work with. The 2nd-4th floors need upgraded. I honestly would have left upon check in, but we arrived closed to midnight and had no choice. I paid $130 for 11 hours and my kids and I did not sleep well due to the bug/roach sightings.

Most of the Hotel public areas were nice and well maintained. My room on the third floor was alittle dated. Beds were comfortable. Seemed neat and clean. Problem was the bath room. The tub water dripped constantly. Could not get it to turn off. During my two night stay. I killed 5 roaches. All in the tub toilet area.

Great value for the price! Can tell it’s an older property but they are working on upgrades.

It's a Older Hotel, that needs a lot of updates, renovations, new stuff, etc.

Lobby looked great .. the person who checked us in was super nice abd friendly. Pool was nice kids had fun. There was a dead roach in the pool room.. thay didbt bother me to much because they like that wnviorment. Also found 6 more in our room. Small ones. 2 in the bathroom. The rest near the door to the hallway. And there was a dead one in the hallway near elevators. The besd a super uncomfortable the A/C wasnt working right either. Breakfast was ok. But only had scambled eggs or biscuts and gravy for hot food. Then toasts abd bagels and yogurts abd stuff.

I stayed in a King bed room on the 2nd floor, hadn’t noticed at first the black stain on the ceiling only because we stayed out all night and was exhausted by the time we got back. I reported it to the front desk, they had maintenance come check on it. We ended out noticing that it was the dust blowing out the HVAC unit. The guy cleaned it, sprayed it down and swept it off. But other than that, it’s my 3rd time staying and I love it…especially the hot tub!

Stay was okay for the price. It just could’ve been a bit cleaner. The floors in the bathroom were dirty as well as lights were partially burnt out in bathroom and there was toothpaste on the sink from prior guests. The hotel is just a bit dated but served us well as we were there for visiting the area not a luxury resort.

We stayed on the lower level in a pet friendly room and it looked like it was never cleaned. There were roaches and bugs in the room. Carpet looked old and dirty. The locals say this place reminds them of BATES MOTEL.
I will say the staff was friendly, especially the breakfast lady.

Overall the hotel was fine, just needed some updates. Some nicks chips along the floor boards, a crack in the sink. Even the dust ruffle in the room was a little shabby and dirty.

Poor. They did not have my proper room and put me into a double bed room without my full consent.

The property was quite nice. Nicely decorated for Halloween. The common areas were lovely. Our king bed room was spacious, the furnishings were nice. The bathroom was very small. The only complaints were that the bathtub didn't want to drain and the toilet moaned when flushed. But that could have been the alleged properly's ghost!

Very clean rooms. The breakfast area was well maintained. Overall good stay in a safe community very close to historic sites. Only drawback was noisy trains at odd hours of the night.

This place has a special history in Williamsburg, and is a favorite of mine for the value and the location...it cannot be beat! That said, it's condition is only average as it's definitely time for bathroom redo and replacement of case goods. But I love the Colonial vibe of the poster beds. Very nice staff too!

Very old hotel, but clean. Large room, but not enough light.

Dated hotel and conference center. The beds sagged in the middle, the carpets were pretty battered and the decor is well used. The hotel was clean enough and the location was great to Williamsburg as well as Busch Gardens. THey have signs that say refurbishing rooms but think they need to work more quickly.

We were very disappointed in this property. The pictures are beautiful on the app however, when you get there, it’s under construction and hallways have a funny smell in the room. Our room was not ready at check-in. We had to wait almost an hour past check-in and then they still had to switch room in order to make sure that we had a room and I book almost 2 months in advance. Our room even though that thermostat said that it was 80°. It ended up being like 68° the whole night and we could not adjust the temperature, we ended up having to get extra blankets brought to us because it was so cold. The doors to the room were all messed up and scratch and old. Rooms were not clearly marked. The grounds were not cut up very well, and there was construction going on in the backyard. We had a balcony, but the sliding door was broke and screwed shut. The toilet ran all night. The lobby was beautiful. The people were friendly and the maid staff helped a lot.

It has a breeze of history. Lobby has 1970 decor, but I would keep it for the mood, there are war artifacts in display. Rooms are under renovation, so for now minus on cleanliness, due to humid weather, outside windows are always precipitating water, but breakfast buffet was clean and well arranged with good morning meal.

The front desk attendees and every position and role of staff had outstanding personalities and friendly attitudes, they were all working to make our stay and all other guests, experiences absolutely positive.

The floors look like they hadn’t been vacuumed in years in the corners. There were dead bugs, all under the bed and all along the corners of the wall the fridge was so frozen. It wouldn’t even close so Everything spoiled. When we got back from Busch Gardens, we had no hot water to take a shower. Breakfast was not that great and the other guest were rude. Plus this place gave my dog fleas. Do not recommend.

This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever been in. The room was uninhabitable. No way you could use the bathroom or even consider showering. We checked in and left immediately they would not refund the room, only the next two nights. I would sleep in my car before I would ever sleep in this hotel.

Multiple issues. Arrived at 3:05p. Not busy and asked receptionist about check-in. Very quick reply that room wasn’t ready and to come back closer to 4. Sat on far side of lobby for 10-15 min. As we had plans that we needed to leave for, I went to ask if ok to leave and if they would be sure to hold room for a 10p check-in given our event. There was a new person at the desk, and he quickly said that room was ready and reached into a stack and pulled out keys and check-in info that had been there for some time. Additionally, ceiling in room had what appeared to be a mold stain. Finally, no hot water the next morning for shower. Would not recommend this property.

You can learn a lot about a place when something goes wrong. We had a lot of issues- nonworking fridge, phone, tv. Building wasn't kept up well. But when hot water heater for the whole property broke, we had a very hard time getting correct information or even an 'I'm sorry about this' from more than one staff member. One night staff member said there would be no concessions for the lack of ability to shower, and another daytime staff member demanded that I understand how hard this was for HIM to deal with.
Breakfast lady was very cheerful and engaging, but the breakfast was limited, and the same old thing over again. So if you didn't like the selection the first day, you were out of luck the second day.
We have enjoyed our stay here in the past, but you can tell they have let this place go. The water stains, dirty and torn carpets, peeling wall paper, broken elevator call box, loose electrical outlet...I'm surprised it is a Wyndham property. By reaching out to Wyndham directly, we were able to sort things out, especially after the confusion at the desk at checkout ("Can't you READ???" is not good customer service). While I appreciate that the company customer service team was empathetic and swift in working with us, it's just not worth being yelled at in person by the employees.

Our first room had roaches in the refrigerator and kitchen area. We were able to change rooms, but they did not have the same room type available for us. The second room was clean and had no problems. The staff was competent and courteous.
