This was my second time staying at this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised that my friends and I were able to get a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms. There was five of us, so it made it more convenient for us to stay. P when we requested for more towels and comforters we were given them right away. We were even given a space heater, because the suite was a little cold. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Lion's Gate. We are definitely planning to stay this hotel again and I would highly recommend it

The condition of hotel is downward service was excellent just need to upgrade look and condition

The hotel has several wings. This review may not apply to the entire hotel but it does need some upkeep and updates. It is functional and comfortable and close to work.
Updates and remodels will take money and cause downtime so it may happen in sections. One section of balcony was being worked on and had barricades to keep people away from the area.

I asked for a room on upper floor on quiet side. I get the opposite and shame on me for not immediately going back to change. Traffic noise from East side is awful.
Heater adjustment and setting sucked. Hot and cold and no extra blanket. Faucet leaked, Microwave access requires a person of average height with no high reach problems. Come on now. Good for a private on base but not me again
I spend a lot of nights on the road and this was bad.

We stayed for a softball tournament. The stay was ok. Older of course. Needed quite a few items fixed in our room. It was clean. Our #1 issue was parking lot. Lots of people sleeping in their vehicles. We got up to our truck broken into and our camp chairs, canopy, food all stolen. We, will not be staying in the future.

When we arrived, the grounds and exterior of the buildings looked good and check-in went smoothly. The hallway of our building looked pretty dingy. When we entered our room, the main room looked updated and clean but the bathroom, although it was clean, was showing signs of wear-and-tear. The automatic sliding door to enter our building was not working during our entire three night stay so we had to go through a emergency exit at the end of the building. The complementary breakfast was very basic and the same items every morning. We felt safe the entire time we were there and believe this could be a nice boutique hotel if they continue updating the rooms in entirety and work on the service details.

Stayed one night for aftershock music festival. Transportation was convenient, many nearby found options and the hotel restaurant was good.

Well the suite was very spacious and clean I really liked it, certain things in the bathroom can be updated but overall a great room.

Young lady at the front desk was friendly. Room was dated and in need of a renovation or paint job and updated furniture. bedrooms were laid out weirdly with oversized furniture that didn't fit the room and blocked doorways. Second bedroom didn't have a door. TV was good with channel choices but remote didn't have a battery cover. Room across the hall had a loud party until 1am smoking lots of weed we could smell in our unit. Restaurant is not affiliated with hotel but menu was decent and food and service was great even if it wasn't very busy. free morning breakfast left a lot to be desired but could be fixed with some tlc.

The room was adequate. Was upgraded to a suite at no cost. The hotel is in need of some major updated. Not just a coat of paint:

My view was a parking lot that had homeless people living in cars

It is very quiet, my room was very expansive, the breakfast was great. Negatives ? The hotel is spread out over several buildings, so if you have an issue and have to return to the front desk it can be a hike, especially if you are handicapped as i am. In my case i am a new amputee and the back and forth was painful. It didnt help that they would shut down the automatic slider door at the main entrance to the building my room was in, and post a sign saying to use the stairs, thats something i could not do.

Need more outside lighting and the building number needs to be little bit bigger to able to see them from your car without having get out of the car.

Quiet, accessible door blocked off each night no accessible entry. Daily room cleaning and restocking did not happen. Breakfast buffet was full and tasty. Later ending time on weekend would have been nice.

I enjoyed everything, except the fact there is a window in the shower that doesn’t have any coverings or the “frost” over it, made me feel a bit uncomfortable

Older property but has been nicely updated to be more modern. Only 2 stories and there is no elevator that I saw so if you’re mobility challenged make sure to request a room on the ground floor. All staff I encounter were very nice and helpful. I asked for a late checkout and was allowed to stay until 1-130 with no extra charge which was really great! There’s lots of shopping and food options close by. I would stay again.

The beds were cozy. The location was fine. It wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped, but ok. The floor was clearly not swept or mopped. Bedding was ok, maybe a little stained. AC worked fine. Airplane mural was a nice look. They used pumps of soap and shampoo/conditioner, which is ok. I think the body soap and the shampoo were the same. The breakfast was one of the worst continental breakfasts I’ve had. Options were very limited, as in there was only one flavor option out at a time. Bagels and yogurt were only blueberry at the time I was there. A lot of people using bare hands to touch food. Staff wore gloves but they used them to touch everything so what’s the point?

Location good. Safety good, breakfast okay. Older property and dog friendly units need to be better for the guests.

Loved this conversion, really unique garden setting away from traffic, etc of Sacramento. Bummer the mattress and pillows could have been better.

Lovely property, great restaurant. On a decommissioned airforce base, old trees and great landscaping. The rooms show some age with updates. A bit quirky, but really good.

The room looked really nice, however when we requested more towels they never gave them to us. We had to walk all the way to the front desk to get them myself. The breakfast was average I don’t know what all the hype was about.

It look like an old arm service hotel.
They didn't get to fix our problems in the room we had and was requested on day 1.

I had friends staying other rooms at this property and they had a much better experience.
I was unable to access my room via the key and it took three trips to the front desk to resolve the issue… They gave me a new room
Upon entering my new room, I found a broken furniture, A nonworking shower and probably most concerning a length of electrical tape stuck to the bedside table with blonde hair in it.
They resolved the shower issue after two trips to the front desk the next morning by replacing the head, and I notified them of the condition of the broken furniture and the gift left for me previous user
Location is great, prices are really good and the staff was friendly, but I would not stay there again based on my experience in room 4224
If you’re selecting this property for the bar and restaurant don’t…. If it’s open at all in the evenings, it closes early and is often rented out for private events

Property was good.

Reasonably priced but the hotel is showing wear and tear. The shower head was extremely low flow/dribble. No elevator and I was on the second floor. Hallways/stairways a little dingy. The automatic sliding door was broken so I had to go around the long way every morning. Pool is only okay (not really inviting). On a positive note, breakfast was very good, staff was very polite, safe location and bed was very comfortable.

It was a large beautiful property out of the way and tucked away from the main roads and loud city life; yet, only about 15 mins away from the golden 1 arena in downtown Sacramento CA. The room was great and I really enjoyed it.
