Was advertised as all ADULT and quiet and was the opposite and had to fight for chairs by pool daily. Had to beg to get my room cleaned

First time visitors in Aruba and everything was wonderful.

I liked the suite that could fill out all my family.

I liked everything but the rug in the hallways need to be change, it smells like wet, moldy and sometimes has a smell of urine.

Impossible to get room cleaned, out of 4 days we had room cleaned twice. When calling operator kept receiving mixed messages (ie. at 5:30pm initially told all house keeping was sent home. Then received a call back at 5:35 that room will be cleaned after 6, from another operator. Result: room never cleaned). No room number sign despite several attempts to call one in, so we had to make a makeshift one. First day we used forks from the kitchen, still not washed and we’ve already checked out. Worst part is the hut/palapa reservation. Need to pay at least 10 dollars, and they’re always in the back. The front line is for owners and after that the “odd” numbers you have to pay 25 dollars for. To actually get your palapa you have to jump through hoops to reserve, then get a ticket, then find an attendant to set it up. The entire errand takes about 20 minutes. This is maybe the worst Marriott experience I’ve had and definitely the worst hotel experience in Aruba.

Villas at Marriott Aruba Ocean Club are truly a home away from home. Has everything you need. The staff are so helpful. Great value for the money. Convenient location. Lots of local attractions that pick up and drop off at the hotel. Saves money on transportation. Beach is very nice. Great pools. Restaurants are pretty good if you don’t feel like going out to dinner. And thanks to grocery delivery preparing your own meals can be a snap.

Flights were canceled so had to find a new location and accommodation. Thankfully there were rooms available at this location. Unfortunately there was an issue with check-in because hotels.com provides a random NY address to hotels, which obviously doesnt match your actual address. The hotels.com representative was proactive to offer to resolve the issue but they were useless to fix the underlying issue since you only have your zip code in your account.
Anyway, the property was beautiful and well maintained. There were a number of restaurants on site or nearby as well as a small grocery store 15-20 min walk away. The room was a spacious, modern one bedroom suite with full kitchen and staff were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to others.
There are two areas for improvement- the temperature system in the room did not regulate between the bedroom and living room, so those sleeping in the bedroom were hot and those in the pull-out couch were cold, making for sleepless nights. Second, as I saw from other reviews (and did not understand until we got there), the beach chair/umbrella reservation process is inefficient and the only negative customer service experience of the trip.

location and property is beautiful. unfortunately they were dishonest on the wedsite. I picked an ocean view room and I got a view of a rock wall. I inquired about the ocean view and was told all the rooms are ocean view which is also dishonest cause it's not. I will not stay at this property again.

The receptionist are very rude and did not give me the property I paid for. I paid for ocean view and was told I would not get an ocean view is that is the way reservations go. Then was told no more rooms above 3 but walked downstairs after my room was not ready to the front desk and the same receptionist gave this white woman a higher floor 3 floors above mine. After they saw I witnessed this, they gave me the sixth floor

Aruba is safe and you can walk everywhere but there's no sidewalks near this property and we had to take a cab even to go to the Palm beach center which would otherwise be a 15min walk. No other shops nearby but the ones inside the property. The hotel itself is in very good condition. It is a TIME SHARE property, so no room service! Even towels can be exchanged only ONCE per stay! What ruined it for me is getting up at 7AM each day to get a palapa or pay $25-30 each day to reserve one. Who wants to get up at 7 AM on vacation and stay in line for 30 min?

The only negative is the beach side cabanas. Unless you are 1st or 2nd row there is no view of the ocean.

The staff shine here, at the Malmok bar Edward, Max and Bianel were wonderful examples of warm and welcome people and are a credit to the Marriott.
The down side was the pool area being refurbished, but that has to be done and I won't knock the for it as I didn't really use the pool.
The two onsite restaurants are a little too similar to each other in food offerings so choice wasn't as high as you would expect.
This is a Vacation Club hotel so the expected sales pitch for a timeshare that goes with the "Free Gift" was brushed a side and not brought up again.
Reserving the beach Palapas was cumbersome as you have days where being inline at 5:35am doesn't get you in to 1st place (the towel hut opens at 7am for reservations) and you have to play redail games on the phone at 10am if you want to reserve in advance.
Room was big, clean had all that we needed and almost everyone respected the covid mask rules except one guy who was checling out and thought he was better than everyone else and loudly protested against the very nice security people.

Loved everything about the property and the employees!! Loved that it had a full kitchen and you felt like you were at home than in a hotel room! Outside pool area is under construction and hopefully it will be up and running next year - it wasn't a real issue still plenty of space at the pool.

I love the Marriott generally speaking. The room is what you would expect of a basic 1BR Villa. The room was not ready at check in time, but we fortunately had friends with us so we stayed in our room while they finished getting ours ready. The ceiling fan in the bedroom didn't work and there was no in-room laundry, which I have come to expect from a villa. There were however 4 washer/dryer setups per floor, which were free to use as available. Staff was helpful and pleasant. The walkway was being resurfaced on one side of the pool so the hot tubs weren't available all week, and we had to enter the pool area from the lobby instead of the door near our elevator. I suppose they have to do that work sometime. Had I known I probably would have booked at one of the other properties.

Aruba Ocean Club was very pleasant. It had everything you needed to enjoy a family vacation. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It was not over crowded. You do have to wake up and get on line at the towel hut around 6:30am if you want a front row palapa (hut). Booking ahead of time isn’t really worth it.

We lost AC 6am to 11pm and hotel made no accommodations for our family. It was HORRIBLE and hotel first mentioned providing compensation, then changed its mind. I have been at this facility before and things were fine but never again
