A one night stay re a business trip. Hotel was superb but disappointed that after paying for hotel there was an additional 15.00 to park. We only had breast the hotel and this was average considering the cost.
We also had a drink in the bar, again. Very expensive and the beer appeared to be flat half way down. We may stay again for the convenience but will likely have all food and drink elsewhere

we had the worst e learned on check in
we had five rooms booked
they could t find our rooms gave us four keys and disputed for over an hour that they didn't have the fifth booking
the girls 50 th birthday we booked for had to wait for over an hour to get a room . the lady went round each room to se what she'd allocated to realise her self that the fifth room hadn't been given to us . we then had food and table reservations at above in the vermont of which we missed our reservation due to the check in nightmare so we were left without any food and missed our reservation .
wouldn't stay here again !

Another fantastic stay at Hilton Newcastle Gateshead. Service the usual exceptional standard, food and wine incredible. The only place we would stay when in toon!!

Really friendly hotel, nice bar area and restaurant, although room was alittle tired

The reception staff misinformed us about afternoon tea. Also incorrect about room payment when the room was already prepaid.
Stayed in an Executive Room however there were noplug points near the bedside tables, No mirror over the dressing table and the one long mirror that was in the room was in a dark spot.
3.0
The hotel rooms are extremely dated and in need of updating. The furniture is chipped, no mini fridge in room (just a scraped cupboard where I assume there used to be one). Bathroom a little grotty.

We enjoyed our visit. In particular, the staff we met were all friendly and helpful. We look forward to coming again.

Hotel was VERY nice, views and comfort amazing, but the restaurant seemed to be very unfamiliar with the need for a a gluten-free menu. We had to go elsewhere for an evening meal.

Excellent as usual. Just shame you have to pay to park though.

Excellent location, friendly staff

Tired hotel. Queued for breakfast. Food was cold. Air con in room is noisy and ineffective. Concierge brought a fan which helped. On a positive note it's an easy walk across the bridge for a lively town centre.

Great location for GNR events on the Saturday

Despite having a deluxe room there was black on the tile grouting and round fixings. En suite door handle was faulty I could not open at one point and thought I was stuck in the en-suite! Shower was incredibly difficult to work out how to use and once working was so pathetic in power that you could not really use it because of the shape of the bath and the lack of power of water stream.
There was no mirror with a plug near enough to easily use a hairdryer at. I had to fight with a stretched flex to dry my hair.

Comfortable hotel close to main attraction.

Loved the location, was trying to check in and the staff took another customer who just walked in rather than us who was waiting patiently. Cleaning staff was wonderful.

Our stay was great. Comfy beds, lovely staff and a lovely view of the city.
This being said, the parking was a bit of a shock to find out we had to pay £15 for overnight parking.

Overnight stay whilst meeting friends for meal and drinks.
Great central location.

It was the first time here the only downside was all the road works. The wife isn't to good with her legs so had to use the car to get around. When we went out we never got to get back to the hotel without travelling round the city.

Stayed in three different hotels this week but Hilton experience was worse unfortunately. £15 charge for overnight parking and £30 charge for drinks in the bar we never had,

Excellent base location to walk into Newcastle city centre. Good facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast offering.

Overall quite good, but despite being told the sofa bed would be made up later it hadn’t been done upon my return from
Family event.
Also a reminder asking for photo ID at 3:30pm on the checkin date is a bit late! It was only luck I had it on me, not sure why this is required as not normal.

Disappointed, awful vibe, dusty dated room, offered a room with walk in shower and shower chair no bath, eventually got a different room. No hand wash, staff were very abrupt. Over priced. Definitely did not get the relaxing break I needed.

Stayed here for my GF birthday last week, a lady at reception, I forgot her name unfortunately asked why we are staying, told her and they gave us a free upgrade to an executive suite overlooking the river.
Didn’t have to but we thought this service was exceptional.
Would rebook again.

Excellent reception area.
Dinner was a disappointment.

Great hotel, great location and lovely staff. A bit of luxury in Newcastle

Amazing and even when we reported a problem with the room, this was resolved instantly
4.0
Nice hotel location, with short walk to the hole city.
The view was superb from hotel rooms.
Great beds and pillows.
One bed sheet was anoying, i dont want to share in a double bed..
I did not like the Huge openings under the doors to the main hallway, so not very private.
Bathroom with cold floors.
Also it is a tub with shower possibility, but the tub is slippery and hard to stand safe. (anti slipp matt are provided.)
Low preasure in showerhead so you have to shower a long time and use huge amounts of water..
Great towels, maybee the biggest i have ever goten in a hotel, that was great. 👍
Breakfast was okay, but as a Norwegian i would like more diffrent types of bread and normal white cheese, (like gauda and ementaler) not cheddar. 😇 but it was good..
Great coffie (amerikano.) on the mashine. 👍👍
And the staff was Amazing.

The hotel in general was average. The front desk were professional. The furniture was below average and outdated. The Housekeeping was the worst in the hotel. Minimum care for the cleaning and i had to ask to re-clean the room again.

I only stayed for one night for a brief stop in Newcastle. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room clean, comfortable, and spacious.

Very old rooms, it needs renovation urgently

Not very impressed with the cleanliness of my room. The bathroom was not clean (dirty tub, walls, and sink) and we found a fingernail on the hotel room chair.
I brought up the issue with a staff member at the front desk and they requested that my room be re-cleaned. As far as I could tell all they did was make the bed and clean the toilet. The fingernail was still there. At that point I just gave up and went to bed. Will not be returning.

Nice place to stay with a great view. Could do with a little modernisation of the rooms (USB charging ports for example) - but very nice and would recommend for a stay.
3.0
Not great for the price. Room was dated and hadn't been properly cleaned. The air con was temperamental. If I return to Newcastle I won't be visiting the Hilton again.

I have just had an awful experience checking in and would like to make a complaint.
I paid on Hotels.com before arrival and when I came to check in they said they needed a credit card to guarantee my room. I only had my phone and they wouldn’t accept that as it needed to be a physical card.
They asked me to take a seat to download their app and sign in to add a card to that. I did this but the card I added wasn’t suitable. They said they sometimes have a problem with Visa! I tried to add another card but they said it doesn’t accept adding a different card.
They basically told me it was company policy to not let me check-in. They were overly polite and telling me not to be concerned and stressed even though I couldn’t check in. I found them patronising and cold.
I visibly had tears in my eyes and then finally the duty manager then said I could check-in and pay the guarantee charge of £30 (refunded after check-out) in my room on the app. I asked why they didn’t let me do that earlier and they said it was a last resort.
So basically I was in reception nearly half an hour and had to ask to see the manager and get physically upset before they would check me in. Thanks Hilton, amazing customer services!
