The experience was horrible.
After checking in we were guided by the staff to go to the wrong floor. The elevator had some cooling fan that made a horrible sound.
Finally found my room and it had a moldy smell and the furniture was stained. The bathroom had a sprinkle of white dust. Aircon was noisy and hardly working.
We figured we needed to leave for dinner before something else. The elevator had given up and was no longer working. We had to walk across a messanine on the outside and passed the Jacuzzi. This was drained and had a sign "under maintenance".
We tried to leave trough the fire escape but it was locked up. Back up on the messanine some staff member guided us to down some outside stairs to a back ally.
We at least had a good meal out on town and decided to get drunk to forget about the hotel situation.
Next morning before 0900 there was construction in the floors right above our room. Someone was using a jackhammer in the floors.
The hotel had slid a note under the door with an apology that construction would take place between 0900-1700 hrs the whole week.
We just had enough and packed our stuff. Went down to the reception and asked to check out early. We had paid for 4 nights and only stayed 1 night. So we asked for the remaining 3 nights to be refunded.
That needed to be approved by management. The staff took my contact details and sent me an email. It's been four days and so far no messages or no refund on my 200 dollar deposit. Run away!

Was clean and adequate for the price, would have better with Aleast a window.very central to all the sites and met.
4.2
Serious traffic noise at night, poor sound proof and you can hear noise from windows.
There are also construction noise in mid night

I received excellent attention & above all very good team of reception & management
Especially
Anna, Sin Yee & Puvan
Thanks

Location was the best possible making our stay super efficient !!!

Been to this property before. We were given a room with twin beds when I had requested a Queen Bed. Nothing mentioned at check in. Not sure if we were judged to have single beds. Wanted both passports which is fine but I have no idea why my partner had to sign check in form when booking was in my name solely. More training & customer relations training required.

All ok perfect stay
4.2
Nice service. Room small but clean.

Great location for moving around Singapore. MRT 3 minutes away and gave us access to wherever we wanted to go. Close to China Town - always felt safe. Loved this hotel. We had a room with no windows which was perfect for us - we had the best sleeps and most of our time was spent being out and about. Great service, some nice touches such as free minibar and snacks plus toiletries, helpful as I forgot my toothbrush. Our room was clean and cleaned daily to a high standard. Reception staff welcoming and helpful. Definitely a great place to stay if you’re going out and about.

Absolutely sensational

Loved it! Very charming. Might want to fix the breakfast thing with Pasta Brava even though I saw the sign they were moving. Same with the rooftop bar - has so much potential but really lackluster service. The hotel itself - lovely and thank you for a great stay.

Have stayed at Scarlet many times before and it will continue to be my choice when I am in Singapore due to excellent service provided by staff and the location. Can't recommend it highly enough
4.2
A wonderful stay at a very comfortable and quirky hotel, ideally placed near Chinatown and the Maxwell Street hawker market as well as a new MRT station. The staff were very friendly and helpful and could not have been more accommodating. Will happily stay again.
4.2
Great location but could be noisy in the early evening hours. Close to train stations and Chinatown. Walking distance to many Food Centers. This is a pretty old hotel but reasonably clean and the hotel rate is fair for Singapore. The staffs are friendly. The complementary in room bar is stocked daily with snacks and drinks including beer. There’s even fresh fruits in the hotel lobby.
4.2
It was good location but strange place, very noisy at night until we found out roof top bar was above us. Not one staff member told us there was even a bar there.
Would have been nice to know what facilities were available.
4.2
Great 2 night stay. Just opposite Maxwell MRT and Maxwell Food centre (Hawker Centre). Lots around and easy to get to/fom.
Lovely accommodation and helpful staff
4.2
Better than expected. Bed sheets outstanding

Hotel front desk is trying to “upgrade” our room upon arrival because what we agreed wasn’t available. They finally gave us what we agreed after promising to give them a good review, which my daughter did.
The room was clean but small. All amenities were replenished daily.
The staffs were friendly and courteous.
The hotel is right next to the subway TL-18 station and Maxwell food court, very convenient.
There was a long small hallway leading to our room make me wonder if fire was to break out in the hallway how do people in all the rooms without window escape.
4.2
Yhe location is very strategic that is close to shopping and dining area. It’s 3 mins walk to Maxwell and 5-7 mins in chinatown MRT which is station to connect to blue, purple, and green line . It’s safe to walk in the area at night . Staff are incredibly nice and polite .
4.2
I stayed one night here during a longer layover. The location is great, close to MRT and if you like to walk, it's at a walkable distance to all main attractions in Singapore.
The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfy.
Also their mini bar is free and very well stocked!
4.2
Great service and location. The place is getting a bit tired but the beds were comfortable and it definitely stands out when compared to cookie cutter rooms of your typical more Wester chains.
4.2
Very friendly staff. Clean and safe and charming. Convenient location in china town. Next to subway
4.2
The location and style of this hotel is convenient and unique. But the interior needs refreshed. I unfortunately got a room that smelled like sewage and the hotel was sold out and I could not be moved so they came to spray air freshener. (Which didn’t work)
4.2
Property seems a bit tired, as do the staff. Little effort to help us to our room with our bags, or offer much assistance at all. Entrance to the breakfast restaurant appears to take you almost into the kitchen. . Several "under maintenance " signs (e.g. fountain area on 2nd floor outside) appear to have been there for a long, long time. Room was clean and comfortable, although there was a lot of street noise. French doors leading to "balcony" don't fit tughtly, so sound rolls in. Balcony looks out on a parking garage - not conducive to sipping one's morning coffee while planning your day in Singapore.
4.2
The hotel is conveniently located next to Maxwell food center and less than five minutes from China town with great shopping and hawker stalls. The hotel offers many amenities with such simple things as water and snack that other hotels often charge for.
4.2
Sadly there was a problem with my reservation (likely my fault). Much worse was that the front desk staff said it would not be a problem to amend the reservation, but the hotel did not honor that, so I ended up paying far too much. Quite possibly just a failure of communication, but left a very poor taste in the mouth and I won't be back.
4.2
The hotel is well located, next to a metro station and Chinatown. Be warned - the executive room is really small . We couldn't lay both open suitcases on the floor. If you have a room on the street side, take ear plugs. Staff were charming and helpful though.
4.2
Stunning hotel with a superb location. Puvan on reception was a star
4.2
Location is awesome. Middle of many excellent local eateries. Transportation is easy and area is great. Hotel room is a little small but it has everything. They even provide a bottle of wine on top of other complimentary drinks and snacks!
4.2
Service was excellent. Free minibar. Close to Chinatown and MRT.
4.2
I give this hotel 5 stars however we stayed here twice and the room we got our first stay was significantly better than the second stay and we reserved the exact same style room. I think comfort and enjoyment will be dependent on what room you get. This hotel is in Chinatown which is great for culture and hawkers. It’s a 2 min walk to Maxwell hawker which we spent each night at. The roof top bar is awesome the view is fantastic.
4.2
I’d rather not share how great this place is and I’d like to keep it a secret! Lovely staff. Free minibar. Welcome bottle of wine,
Beautiful and spotless room in a gorgeous building moments from Chinatown, Maxwell Hawker Centre, The MRT and so central. Wonderful.
4.2
Very lovely and comveniet hotel I have experienced in Singapore
4.2
Nice boutique hotel, if a little tired in places
Well placed for eating in busy, buzzy Chinatown
A short grab-ride to the main centre
4.2
The hotel staff were lovely however the hotel is very dated and needs improvement.
Many damp areas & old decoration very small rooms for the price
4.2
This is a unique hotel at a great location in Chinatown. Very comfortable room, spacious bathroom and a complimentary minibar restocked daily. Rooftop bar with a great view over the area.
4.2
Great location. Great staff, hotel is in good condition. Can hear some young people being loud late night sometimes but it is in Chinatown with lots of bars nearby. The tradeoff is you get amazing location, can walk to Maxwell Food Center in 1 min, transit is nearby and a great hotel with excellent amenities
4.2
Amazing service, super clean, best location in the city.
4.2
Stay one night
Very good

We loved this property and location! Great food at the hawker center one block away and metro also one block made it very easy to get around.
The staff was friendly. The rooftop bar was a nice place to enjoy the evening. The room was plush and quiet.
The pictures do it justice. It was well worth the value and I would recommend it!
