This place is so lovely. The gorgeous Victorian is meticulously cared for. The hosts are supremely kind and generous, and the breakfast was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the bed was very comfortable and made sleep effortless. Would definitely stay here again!

Always our favorite place to stay when in Philly. The hosts are always so kind and do their best to make it feel like home. The rooms are always clean and the entire home is well curated. We recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

Lovely grand old house. Location was great. We overestimated our travel time and arrived 4 hrs. early. We were able to store our luggage in our room and walk to a park for a popup market. Beautifully decorated. Nice breakfast at a large group table. Staff was very friendly and helpful Enjoyed our stay and would go back. When we went it was on the market . It, like any grand old home. needed some maintenance but it didn't affect our stay.

Annette, my hostess, was warmth and courtesy itself. She went out of her way to help and i greatly appreciated her friendliness.
I had a heater in my room, which solved the problem of a sudden downturn in the weather.
The shower in my room was hard to operate.
But such a charming, period place. I'd recommend it strongly

Great place. Very homely. Comforting. Breakfast was wonderful.

This amazing historic house had lovely period decor at every turn. The hosts were accommodating, and the breakfasts were filling, varying each of the four mornings we were there to keep things interesting.
One thing I especially appreciated was how the family kept the grounds up. Some places let their outdoor furniture get dusty, but not The Gables--you could go out and have your pick of seating areas on the porch or in the lawn, in top shape receive you.

I should start with i travel 3 weeks a month for business and mostly stay at hotels. Do not recall why I actually booked this B&B, but would not recommend this one.
The people and communication were great, but the property is just old.

The staff was excellent, we were also close to the trolley line and the owners gave us excellent directions for our sightseeing adventures. Breakfast was super.

Highly recommended! We recently stayed with Cesar and his family for one night while passing through Philadelphia. When we arrived, we were met by Annette and her lovely son who showed us the house and our room. The decor is absolutely charming. There is a big porch and a garden with lots of seating when the weather is nice. All the rooms are named; ours was the Egan - private, detached bath. The mattress was SUPER comfortable and the bathroom was just next door. WiFi is good. They even stock a pantry with water, wine and snacks for guests and are available to give recommendations on what to see, where to eat, etc. Location is convenient and parking is on site, in a lot off the street. But the breakfast was our favorite! Cesar is an amazing chef (quiche, sausage, fruit and cake) and it’s so nice to sit with other guests in the dining room and chat. We will definitely stay at the Gables next time we are in Philly - you should too.

Cesar and Jeannette were so hospitable. Our room was great and we enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. The location was convenient to my niece's apartment. The outside is a little worn but don't let that deter you. The inside is well kept with beautiful antiques. I would recommend staying here if the location is convenient for you.

The property is beautiful and the people that run it are extremely nice. They treated us so well and made accommodations for my vegan friend. We appreciated having a comfy quiet place to rest after all our sight seeing, plus the delicious breakfast!

The staff and owners were wonderful. Our room was quiet, clean, and cool. There's a nice garden where we ate dinner one night. This is a historic b & b, so it doesn't have all of the amenities of a larger chain. We found it to be a charming, fun stay. There's a trolley stop right on the corner, so getting to the historic district of Philadelphia is super easy.

B&B hosts were very nice. Full breakfast was delicious. Plenty of complimentary water, coffee, tea and wine. I enjoy staying at B&Bs such as this one to step off the beaten path of chain hotels and enjoy the history such B&Bs provide. With that said, this place could use some help. Old and historic doesn’t have to also mean old, musty smelling and run down. It’s a beautiful home that could use some TLC and repair to bring back its glory.

Lovely Victorian home with great water pressure and super soft beds and fun breakfast - parking a little tricky in the evenings but especially enjoyed the free Shakespeare in the Park down the street!

This place is operated by a nice family who works hard to maintain the property status.
Good breakfast and pantry for 24 hour.
Not so many dining options around.
If some carpets could be replaced, that would be better.

The Gables is beautiful and done so well.
We were welcomed warmly, shown to our room which was very comfortable, and enjoyed sitting in one of the parlors. It is such a beautiful B&B. The breakfast was delicious. It was nice to have a pantry with ice water and wine available. All the details are covered by the team at The Gables. I highly recommend.

Loved this place. First time at a B&B and loved the experience. We came for a mini babymoon. So much more personal than a hotel. The breakfast was delicious and they accommodated my lactose intolerance for every breakfast. It’s near a cute park that we enjoyed for morning walks. If given the chance we will definitely come back. Thank you for such an enjoyable babymoon!

Overall the Gables was as advertised. The room was cozy, the bed was very comfortable but the shower was small and the shower head smaller. The pancakes were great and they accommodated our vegetarian diet. The hosts were warm, welcoming and very helpful.

The owners are very responsive and helpful. My parents and I stayed 3 nights. We loved that they supplied cold water bottles and complementary wine. One morning we had to leave earlier than breakfast time and they had "to go" bags waiting for us. The other 2 mornings we enjoyed the hot breakfast made to order. The owners are from the Philippines and made some waffles that were inspired by their country. So unique and delicious!
They helped me navigate the trolley system and recommended local restaurants for dinner. The Gables is very conveniently located in a safe neighborhood and off-street parking is available. I loved all the woodwork in the home.
