Fabulous hotel, modern, clean, bright. We took half board; a good variety of choices on the whole, though the chips were always soggy, never crispy. Annoyingly the WC in the room was not a separate, fully-enclosed cubicle so smells could permeate.... And you had to pay to enter the spa to use the jacuzzi or sauna, so we never went. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to the old town, shops, bars, restaurants. Unfortunately the adjacent hotel had an entertainment room which seemed to offer loud music/dancing every night, often with the doors opened. Luckily the Castillo Hotel has excellent double/triple glazing but there was still a bit of a noise which went on till around 23-23h30 most nights. But I would definitely go back, despite that.

Great place to stay in Peniscola. Nice hotel. Highly recommended.

Very good, modern hotel, very large and comfortable bed, the aircon worked well.
The lunch and dinner main courses were a disappointment, the meat was far too thin to cook properly and dried out. the chefs were very good and friendly, doing their best. The cooked breakfast was very good.

Very comfortable hotel in a great location.
The only “problem “ was the to sweet complementary Cava😉

Very nice looking place but weirdly no coffee set up in room and cafe doesn’t open until 10. And they wouldn’t let us just get coffee from the breakfast room.
Didn’t get an upgrade or offered the ‘free tour’, no parking available and unfortunately the desk clerk has very little English- which in a 4 star hotel really shouldn’t happen

Absolutely beautifully presented Hotel, our stay here was lovely, staff so very friendly & helpful Our room & premises are just A1 for cleanliness.

I gave this hotel a 5 due to the location, near to all bars, restaurants, shops, the friendly/helpful staff and the fact that it’s new and in excellent condition.
Having gold status meant I was eligible for an upgrade if available. I had to ask for it as it wasn’t offered and they gave me a sea-facing room on the first floor with a huge balcony. However, it didn’t feel like an upgrade as the room was very small and I wasn’t able to enjoy the balcony as it offered no privacy. That said, the room was comfortable and cleaned to a high standard.
One point for improvement would be the breakfast which was very limited.
On the whole I really enjoyed my stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

I did not get to stay here. Expedia lists it as “service dog friendly” and when I showed up, I was denied. I showed them her registration card and they told me “we’re not set up to support service dogs”.
When I told the next hotel. They were mad for me since “it’s illegal to decline service dogs”.
Expedia do your job, and please report this.

Loved it. Great location on beach, near town. Couldnt find better location. Super nice staff that dealt gracefully with my minimal Spanish. Huge breakfast buffet with quality food, nice bar, drinks served at pool, etc. Restaurant average for lunch though. Better places to eat. Room was very small but was only there a weekend and didnt care about that. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Spotless clean, modern room. No view but dead quiet which i prefer. Highly recommend this place.

A lovely quaint hotel with beautiful views of the beach and Papa Lunas castle.Friendly staff and close to secure parking. The tourist information office is only a few metres away

Close to the beach and the castle. Good breakfast in the morning. Parking only in the street and very hard to get.

The location is ideal - paid parking available right across the street, altho its not cheap - and a view of the old town and the Med from every terrace. The furnishings are older and the whole place could use a makeover, but if you want a beachfront hotel at a reasonable price, its fine.

Friendly service, great location.

Very nice hotel on the promenade with a superb view, from the front rooms, towards the old town and seafront. Excellent price from hotels.com for a sea-front view with terrace. The hotel also allowed our dog.

Nice hotel. Good location for beach and the centre. Good small sized quiet pool and a good cafe/bar at the front
