Restaurant was open for dinner from 5pm, however a private function was taking placed so we had an hour to wait for the function to finish. Ordered our meals about 6pm only for it to arrive at our table in takeaway boxes because they wanted to save on the washing up because of the private function. The restaurant manager agreed to recook our meals and put them on plates, however she practically through the meals at us. Considering she has a customer facing role her customer service skills were diabolical. We felt the private function guests were more important than regular hotel guests, 2 other couples came over to us and agreed that we were all being treated terribly. On checkout i spoke to the reception and because the meals had been redone he didn't see a problem. When I get back to the UK I will be relaying these comments to the Wyndham Hotel Group Head Office

Honeymoon two nights , beautiful resort and great facilities.

The hotel is located near the sea, with complete facilities and clean rooms. There are supermarkets and commercial centers not far from the hotel, and there are many restaurants to choose from. The area near the hotel is suitable for hiking, cycling and running.
The sea view room is very good, and I will choose this one next time.

Room 241-Air Conditioner would not heat, attended to twice but still would not heat! apparently next doors would interfere with it?!
Requested refund but the hotel declined, hotels.com offered $25, really bearing in mind the room cost at nearly $300!!
Hotel provided a tiny heater, very dated hotel. Would not stay again!!

Was reasonable priced and good location

We were very disappointed with our stay. Rooms had nothing to offer in terms of cutlery or plates etc. TV’s were unable to connect to Netflix etc, it was like it was the 90’s
We were put in a really out of the way room and there was nothing on offer in terms of food.

Stayed here 3 nights for convenience of an apartment. The hotel and room are very average and really needs a makeover. The mattress and lounge need to be replaced. A few kitchen items had to be rewashed as they were dirty and everything kept freezing in the fridge even when changing the temperature. The air con was nice and warm in lounge area however it didn’t reach the separate bedroom and got so cold we had to get 2 blankets as bed only had a thin doona and no electric blanket. It was only a 15 minute walk to town and it was directly across the road from the beach so we did have a great ocean view. For the money and space provided I wouldn’t stay here again. The staff were friendly and helpful and pool area was great.

Hotels.com ratings were very accurate. This is a very average, no frills and dated property. The staff members were very friendly and welcoming. Food options limited as they won’t have a chef until a later time. Bed was comfortable.
Excellent food options in main part of Torquay about 1/2 mile away.

Booked this property and travelled from melbourne. Resturant was closed which was not advertised on website. Milk in fridge for tea and coffee was frozen solid. Tv did not work properly and could not even get the tv guide to work. Room was above the carpark which was fine however the noise from cars driving in and out woke us. When hotel was contacted i was essentially told it is not their respsonsibility to provide milk for tea and coffee and if i wanted a quieter room i should have booked a different one. Unsure how i was supposed to know what the area sounded like before attending. Save your money and book the racv because this was ridiculous and the managements response was equally as ridiculous

Love this place

Love this property and had lots of great stays except for a previous privately owned one that was awful and a recent stay where half of the apartment was okay but the rest was not good. This one I recently stayed in had so many dirty saucepans and pans including the drawers. There was an oily smell in main area and a bit untidy with crumbs in cupboards. The apartment had clean sheets and neatly made bed etc but a few things dirty. There was dried sludge along shower where you step over it and it was slimy after showering. I paid $60 upgrade from my original twin single room to have a queen bed and cooking facilities that I didn’t feel comfortable using except for a saucepan I had to clean first. I wished I’d stayed in original room as it was spotless. The staff were nice but hesitant to tell owners re room in case it will upset them. I thought about changing rooms yet again but I was told I’d have to check out at 11 and check back in at 3 and was I was still distressed and embarrassed to address my towel issue! This was my most distressing part of the stay that really effected me was drying my face on white towel after showering and sighting 2 vile looking brown marks on towel that were thankfully stains and not fresh unwashed soiling. Not ideal at all and I will forever obsessively check towels now. I will add I haven’t been billed for the extra $60 for the second night’s difference. Dryer doesn’t work and I was bruised from bumping my shins on sharp bed corner.

Had a lovely 2 nights in winter, lots to do for our two teenagers and us.

Awesome

Average service. Very poor mattress (my back is still aching) - even worse pillows. There were four on the bed - two were light airy thigs that when you put your head on them you hit the mattress, the other two were lumpy C Grade quality. As you can tell I had a poor nights sleep, as did my wife. To top it off, our bedroom was above the entrance to the carpark, and every time a car went in or out, the grates over the drainage pits (x2) clanked and rattled to further disturb our 'peaceful habitation' for the night. Sadly, won't be back.

Very clean and nice, suited my requirements. Only down side was as a single traveler, I requested a King bed which was 2 singles put together, the bed separated during the night.

Lovely hotel but a little disappointed with amenities in room . Breakfast options were also disappointing .

Lovely place to stay except the elevators to car park and rooms was a bit confusing.

Convenient location and great amenities at Wyndham. The room was clean (clean sheets, bathroom and surfaces clean) however did not appear well maintained (dirty vents including split system which spit dirt out onto the bed).
Staff were lovely although was pressured into signing up for a Wyndham club presentation from the activities person, despite politely trying to reject multiple times.

Liked that was close to shops

Too loud. Second time abruptly waking up to false fire alarm. Kids running around the hotel corridors randomly knocking on the doors, not enough hotel staff to even deal with the complaints we put through. After all that, we only asked them to extend the checkout for an hour and were told that they cannot approve this, and this is happening in the middle of the winter with maybe 20 percent full in the entire hotel. Really disappointed.

Large property with a great pool indoor and outdoor for any conditions. Close to the beach and shops

Property was good, a little noisey, especially the room above us. Facilities were fantastic modern

Resort was good for a one night stop, so we didn’t get to use the pool or facilities. My only disappointment was lack of a restaurant onsite. They had a coffee shop…but limited hours and food. I think the resort would be great for kids.
Beware of a potential ‘time share’ sales pitch.

The first room they put me in the air conditioning, wasn’t working and it was freezing cold. Then, without any assistance from them, I had to move to another room that had very faulty light switches that sparked when I turned them on. There was mould and condensation around the windows. At check-in, they told me breakfast was included, but when I went down for breakfast, I was told it wasn’t included. The property is amazing and very difficult to find your hotel room as it split into two sections. I would not stay again.

$297 for 1 night. Only 2 sugar sachets for the room. Still no restaurant on site since 2022 but there’s a cafe. Both times we’ve stayed, we’ve been harassed (in a nice way) to attend a Wyndham meeting to join up to some timeshare arrangement thing. Was unable to use my Wyndham points for the night despite the hotel not being booked out. Overall a nice location but we’ll look elsewhere next time.

Great location in Torquay, walking distance to Salty Dog cafe, town and shops. Nice facilities with pool.
8.0
We had everything we needed; it was a nice walk to town. It would be nice to have the cafe shop that they have in front of the reception to have it near the pool area. So if you want a hot or cold drink, you can order it there. The room was large and roomy and had everything we needed. The only downfall was that someone before us must have cooked, and the smell was so strong that it lingered around us interstay. I opened all the doors to get the smell out, and it was still around. And there was a few cobwebs around the door and window area. Bird poo outside on the balcony. Would this stop me from coming back? No, we would definitely come back.

Reception staffs were very friendly and helpful, I would recommend this place. Amazing location.

Great if your staying with kids however in the off peak season there is limited options for food onsite and breakfast is very basic.

Beautiful views from our room of Bass Strait, despite the poor weather and great shoreline walking tracks. Poor internal carpark signage and lifts access signage.. confusing.

Liked the facilities on offer especially for the kids - pools, games room, playground.

On arrival, staff were very pushy trying to sell timeshare. Bed very uncomfortable and and I leg broke off during the night. We were meant to have a balcony view of the pool. We were told that we had been upgraded, but when arrived at the room found only a view of a hedge. Outdoor setting was rusted and Just in poor condition. Mentioned the above when we left staff didn’t really seem to care.

Initial accommodation was run down and need renovating, we were moved/upgraded to a pool view. Bath dirty and was blocked with hair.
Lift in our section was out of order and we had to walk a long way to get to our room

Its an amazing resort, clean, quite, safe and very nice. Only issue with me was my pillows were too high. Just need to bring my own next time.
