Great place for short gateway from Singapore. Staff was very helpful. Food was great. And beach is nice. Recommend!

It was quiet and peaceful. We were glad to have booked here rather than the hotel.

Very beautiful resort, clean and simple accommodation but you will be trapped without options. Very misleading description - resort is like a small town with its very expensive restaurants e.g. 8euro per small glass or wine, 10 euro for risotto, shops and activities (I was given free bowling vouchers but must pay for shoes and socks). There are budget accommodation available even camping but the F&B options do not correspond the budget. The free shuttle to Plaza Lagoi (a tourist place with cheap not nice restaurants and a few activities - overall boring place) is provided. Staff are helpful and nice. Place is clean. If you rent a car be prepared to pay at the gate to leave/return. Unfortunately, not what and how we were expecting to spend our holidays

It’s was a good experience staying there. All the staff was friendly and helpful

Very good pool at the main hotel. Great shuttle bus service around the very spread out resort and to and from the Port. Staff were great. Breakfast buffet was a little weak. More or less same choices every day. Quality was a bit disappointing. Other food and drinks were too high. We were isolated and had not other options.

Loved it so much, we came back ! Part of the Nirwana resort complex .The Beach club part is more the sprawling, rustic ,on the beach part which is what we love so we booked there rather than the main hotel complex. The rooms are not as fancy but have everything you need, including large bed, good tv channel options , mini fridge, cabinets , a/c fans etc & we still get to have the same awesome, free/ included spoilt for choice varied breakfast buffet and multiple dinner venue choices , the free shuttle buses within the island & to & fro, from the ferry terminal .beautiful clean private beaches with plentiful hooded sunbeds & open loungers for beach & pool use . Large awesome free form pool with an infinity edge facing the beach & swim up pool bar . Kids play park & multiple activities available from bowling to water sports in resort to world renown golf courses nearby .Staff always smiling & helpful .free wifi & once you log in , it works well everywhere in the whole spread out complex even at the outskirt parts .so relaxing , wish we had longer to stay ...definitely going back

All the staff are very nice and friendly. Nirwana beach club is very close to beach and there are a lot of water sports to do at beach club. They also have shuttle bus running inside garden so it is easier to go from one place to another. Over all is the good experience to stay there.

Make sure you catch the right ferry to the island or it ends up costing you to take a taxi for an hour. Apart from that the hotel is fantastic. Great food and very friendly staff. Can’t wait to return there

To make it clear Nirwana has multiple properties and beach club is one of them. My review is strictly on beach club. This is a place I would recommend you strictly avoid, although it is the cheapest amongst all Nirwana properties. The room is full of Lizards (one of them was stuck in our Air Con and kept making noise all night). The WiFi is terrible to say the least and food across the property sucks. At all costs do avoid the cocktails and mock tails across Nirwana- the bar tenders simply do not know how to make a drink.
If you have some extra bucks- you might want to stay at Indra Maya, Mayang Sarah or Nirwana Gardens (the other properties). However they are too expensive and you might consider flying into Bali which offers more for a similar price.
The most pleasing element of beach club being the staff who are very warm and cordial and take feedback seriously. The calypso floating bar (closer to Indira Maya) is a nice place for an Evening drink. The Nirwana property is huge and a great place to enjoy a run. The infinity pool at Nirwana Gardens (again not part of beach club, but accessible to all Nirwana guests) is awesome.
In summary avoid beach club and book the more expensive places if you would like. Or simply go to Bali!!!

These cottages are small but very nice and very close to the beach. The only strange thing as an American is the shower and toilet are basically together. Set the paper outside before showering so it doesn’t get wet!!!!
Beautiful location and great staff. Food and drinks were a little expensive as usual with a resort. Get your alcohol at duty free before going to Bintan.
Breakfast buffet was excellent and a very sort walk to get to ours was included in price and seafood buffet and show on Friday night was worth the expense and highly recommended. Both buffets were at Niwana resort only a couple hundred yard walk less than 5 minutes up the beach.

Stayed at this hotel several times but first time in beach club. Great pool, great choice at breakfast.friendly staff as always. Accommodation was very comfortable.

Nirwana Beach Club basically has no facilities, meaning to say no restaurant nor pool.
They allow access to Nirwana Resort which is a walk away but at that place you get ribbed off.
The cheapest soft drink costs you SGD 8, its cheaper (and probably better) to rent a room on Sentosa with more food choices.
They even sell their garden coconuts for SGD 8 per piece.
High efficiency with no positive surprises (no happy hour, no staff that offers fruits or other tip bits for the kids at the pool).
We found it a rib off.

It has a heaven! Awesome place with lovely and friendly people. Beautiful surroundings!

A simple place to just put your head down. If you would like to buy anything or even get a bite, you would have to take a walk down to its much better situated and more established sister hotel. This could prove to be a challenge in bad weather. The staff are friendly and the rooms are relatively clean. However, there is a lot of things that need to be looked into such as the lizards in the room to the doors with see-through gaps between them and their door frames.

The nirwana beach club was very run down. the room was very dimly lit, and the furniture was old. There was even lizard poo on the bed spread. In the end, we requested to switch to a different accomodation within the Nirwana resorts and was given Mayang Sari Beach Resort which was wonderful. Please choose Mayang Sari beach resort instead if you want the sea view, by the beach type of room.

Staying close to the nature filled with flora and fauna, and white sand beaches have been pleasurable. The best part of buffet breakfast was the cakes and fried finger foods.

Close to the beach. Nice and accommodating staff (Samuel of front desk and Deny). Good breakfast.

Tar and rubbish on the beach. Zoo small sad enclosures. Loud pumping music at night. Expensive food, poor quality

Very nice hotel for family visit with reasonable distance to swimming pool, mini zoo, elephant park and beach activities. Very friendly staff and always willing to help. Strongly recommend to take if you have no preference for high-end hotel

It was a great & suitable place to relax your mind. There were lots of facility there that wont make you bored there. Only there are certain things need to be change or add on for the hotel, e.g telephone and add a mini clinic. Because for my experience, i was not feeling well in a middle of the night, and there was no telephone to reach any of the staff, and the pathway light were out.. So we decided to stay at the hotel. But overall was a great place to spent time with the loves one.. 2 thumbs up for them. Will go there again in future.

plus
- buffet bfast
- privacy
- near the beach
- relaxing and spacious
- other entertainment - elephant ride, paint ball, archery etc and affordable
- good service
minus
- facilities are a bit old
- the huts are like 8 mins walk to the pool and restaurant/main area, but this doesn't matter if you prefer privacy than accessibility

First impressions mean so much. Even though I had read reviews about the beach club part of Nirwana needing renovation , I booked it for the first 2 days of my 4 day trip to Bintan. When I walked into the cottage I was surprised on how outdated and run down it was.Floors, beds, bathrooms all can't have been updated in the past ten years. Thinking that I could probably deal with the place if the beach and grounds were pristine, I made a walk to the beach. The beach was covered with bottles, trash and tar balls from some sort of oil spill. I paid about $120 for the cottage per night due to weekend rates. It might be worth a $50 a night at best. Because I booked and paid through Expedia , the management wouldn't offer me an upgrade giving me credit for the money already paid.
Here is the good news. Both the Nirwana Hotel (which we moved to the 3rd and 4th nights) and Mayang Sari are both much better better places. The Hotel has very nice rooms and grounds.Breakfast was great. Bar-B-Que dinner with cultural show and entertainment was great. Many activities for the kids and family can be found on the grounds.
The beaches were also cleaned up of trash the second day. Tar balls will be there a while though I imagine. Bottom line….steer clear of the beach club part until they renovate, which they will be doing soon I was told.

The missus and I stayed from 12-14 April 2014. After checking in, we found the "chalet" to be a bit disappointing. The flooring was quite old and at a couple of places, ready to give in!
No phone in the room! And no room service at all... However if one is willing to overlook these minor hitches, it's an economically viable place to stay

An excellent location and ambiance to relax in a reasonable budget.

This was my third time in Bintan. Both of the previous times I stayed at Nirwana Resort Hotel, but this time at Nirwana Beach Club. I found Nirwana Beach Club more personal and quiet. I would definitely stay there again. Very friendly staff.

The resort looks good and nice from outside. The rooms are of pretty poor-average conditions. It is a nice place to relax on beach. Room amenities and conditions should be improved...

The room was tiny, as was the bed. My fiance is 6ft tall and didn't even fit on the bed! The floor was worn ans sandy, the internet was dreadfully slow and the toilet was tiny with the shower and pot within one foot of each other. To top it off there was a ten-hour power outage at night and there was an emergency light shining down from right above the bed. There was no staff around to tell us what was going on. It was the worst vacation ever!

Nice beach, staff is nice, the rooms are too basic, there is no phone in the room. food is a little pricy.
