Check in was a nightmare - nobody there to receive us. Instead, we had to key in all our information outside the hotel which was not user friendly. We had to reenter information several times before we could get it to work properly, and also scan our passports etc. I called the number but did not reach anyone to answer our questions about how to solve the glitchy keypad entry issues. We were lucky that someone who works there happened to come by and helped us retrieve our key from a locked box that was different than all the other key boxes and she didn't know how to open it. She called someone and someone answered, and she got help. The room was fine, had a nice view, so were satisfied with our stay once we finally were able to check in. HOWEVER, now upon reviewing my credit card statement, I was charged TWICE for the stay! Please arrange a refund, and perhaps you should even consider refunding part of the cost of staying there due to this and the other problems I outlined!

Nice location in the historical center. Following their instructions you can park 10 minutes away.
Hated the electronic check-in and the lack of someone at the reception desk.
Rooms are old, small and super cheap.
Also for the modest price is not worth

The Raffaello is well located in the center of Urbino. It is a serious climb to reach it, but that is true of everything in Urbino. Our reception was rushed and callous. Keys were given, things mumbled, and we were sent our way. The lobby area was unkept, with pictures leaning against the wall and boxes stacked. The rooms were simple and clean but not in good repair. My air/heat system was without a remote and therefore could not be used. When I went to report this, there was no one at the front desk. In fact there was seldom anyone at the front desk. I found a phone number and called it. A man came and gave me an electric heater in case it got cold. It did. My bathroom sink had a slow leak which resulted in a wet floor. During the night a loud sound, like a fire alarm, would sound every few hours. No one at the front desk. No sleep. The most serious problem with the Raffaello was that no one cared. No one cared about the place or about us. After one night we were finished. I found a man at the front desk and said we were leaving. I asked to be refunded for the two nights we did not stay. He said, "No refunds! Have a good life!" Part of my life is to write this review. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great view on the green hills around Urbino (I don't know whether this applies to all rooms).
Central location in the historic center of Urbino. Five minutes or less to the Piazza della Republica. The bus terminal (at the bottom of a shopping center) is also in walking distance (maybe 12-15 mins). A bit hidden in a small side street (which means it is quiet). There are signs on the street to locate the hotel.
The reception closes at some time in the evening, so I guess it's best to advise them in advance about a late arrival.

Very well placed hotel in the old town. No parking except up the hill. Clean warm room. Reception lacking in charm. Very poor breakfast!

We parked at the city gate for free from 800 pm until 8:00 am. Moved car to adjacent parking garage right before breakfast. Parking garage mall purchase receipt gave us 3 hours free with purchase.

Excellent location. Easy to park your nearby up the hill, realizing that there are lots of steep hills but this was close. Small clean room with a pleasant view over the roof top.

This charming hotel is right in the center of beautiful historic Urbino. We could easily walk everywhere in the town, and we loved the views of the Renaissance town and the surrounding hills. Very clean, very comfortable, with friendly staff members. We would love to stay here again. Be aware that the streets are steep and pack light!

The hotel has great location in the centre of the town, but is accessed by a steep climb. The maverick receptionist appeared from nowhere to help us with luggage. Our room was large and weird with the middle section consisting of steps leading to a platform completely useless. Our room had a small window and no view. The bed was too high to get in. The air conditioning could not be used, as we were not issued the remote control that was in the care of the receptionist. Coming late after dinner (after 10 PM), is not recommended as the lobby is occupied by the receptionist and a huge black dog sitting on the sofa. No hope of TV watching, and there is none in the room. If you like adventure, this is a place for you. There are other rooms with beautiful views and less noise from the street.

We reserved both a double room and a triple room. The pictures on line are quite deceiving. The linens in both rooms were old and worn. The towels were stiff, rough and small. The TV in the triple room was an old tube TV and did not work. Mattresses in both the double room and triple room were hard as a rock. The wardrobe in the triple room was cheap and made of laminate. The lobby was small and dark and home to an adorable Great Dane that slept on the leather couch. The only nice thing about the rooms was the decor and view from the double room. The double room was decorated with matching antique furniture and had a marvelous view of Urbino. The staff was friendly but spoke very little English. I would not stay at this hotel again nor recommend it to my friends.

the manager was very nice and very helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful part of town, but the interior doesn't reflect that charm. It was clean, but it had a vaguely institutional feel to it.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast delicious, with a nice array of items to choose from. Hotel is located on a very, very steep street, those who have problems walking would have difficulty getting to it. But, ture of most of Urbino. Very clean.

Impossible to park - had to get taxi to and from distant car park €8 each way. Basic breakfast.

The Hotel is at the top of a "one way, dead end narrow steep cobblestone alley. That said our room on the top floow had amazing views and was very well appointed and comfortable. The Tratoria at the bottom of the street was wonderful. A great experience.

Bed took up entire room. Lobby is dark and dismal. Almost no English spoken so difficult to resolve anything. Not even coffee in the morning. Thank goodness we were only there for 1 night.

I had the single room with the sign outside the window on the building across the alley: In this house was born the mother of the divine Raffaelo. The primary down-side is the location: this hotel is a significant climb not just from the lower town but from the central piazza as well, moreso even than the ducal palace on the other side of town. Its not the Alps and its not prohibitory; if you are expecting it, youll probably be fine. (Im 67 and I dragged my suitcase up, with a rest-break or two ...) Staff is helpful and the hotel is good quality.

The hotel condition is average, but the location is very good, and the staff is helpful. It is a comfortable place to stay for a night or two ... three star at best.

We requested a superior room and was not disappointed because the view was priceless. When we opened the windows, it was like looking at a picture of roof tops, green hills and fields and church steeples. It exceeded our expectations because of the view. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was not anything special and could be improved upon - seemed to be all pre packaged cakes and meats and cheeses. I did not feel like I ate anything good for me. Anyone staying at hotel should be aware that it is a very steep hill to get to hotel and should pack light bags as they may have to park far away from hotel. Because of the view and excellent location, I would recommend this hotel to friends.
