Nice quiet place to recover from a recent surgery. Breakfast was included and the buffet was delightful with bacon eggs sausage, fresh fruits and breads. The staff was always willing to help in every way.

The good things about this hotel are the location straight on the beach, easy walk to old town and the good size of the rooms. What was not great was the fact that despite the hotel being almost empty, they would not allow us to check in when we arrived 45min before the check in time. My husband was feeling quite sick so he had hoped to be able to lay down. Not one of the 3 front reception staffwe encountered ever smiled! The decore in this hotel would be better suited to a hospital. Very uninviting. Our room was large with a great verandah overlooking the ocean, however the bed sheets were too short for the beds so our feet kept on touching the waterproof mattress protector and the quilts had no covers on them. I wonder if they replace those items between guests? No coffee or tea making facilities either in the room or foyer.

We decided to stay at the Inatel at the last moment when we arrived in Albufeira. We upgraded an oceanfront room with a balcony. The room was directly on the beach. It was lovely to sleep with the door open to the sound of the waves and to have a terrace with a view of the ocean. The room is a little dated. But, it’s not tiny. And it’s close to everything and convenient to old town and the shops and restaurants. It was clean, had everything I needed, the AC worked and the breakfast was decent. It’s a good little hotel for the price for a few nights. I was more than satisfied with it and would stay there again.

Old hotel. Room was OK but the bathroom has not been renovated since the hotel was built. Not good. If you are sensitive to sound you should not choose this hotel. You hear everything outside your room and what your neighbour is doing. Also, there is tile on the floor in the hall outside the room which makes the sound of those pulling their wheelie bags heard clearly into the room. Bad that breakfast only starts at 8.00 am. I did not have time to eat before I went to the airport. But the location is good, near the old town. This is a typical ‘You get what you pay for’ hotel.

This is a hotel for the elderly (60+) breakfast is basic and the same food is served everyday, we got a room with a balcony overlooking the back of the hotel, not a great view so make sure you book sea view. Basic room, full of ants also on the bed so they do bite. Bathroom was a joke, no water pressure in a shower, or the sink. Tennis court and rackets needs a bit of TLC. Pool was good, but needed to be cleaned more often. Reception desk were sort of helpful, but what can u expect from a 3 star hotel. Definitely not coming back!

The front desk people are bad. I requested a high floor when I booked, then when I showed up before check in time, I asked the guy again. He put me on the ground floor! I asked the girl I dealt with later if I could move. She said no, they were full. When I persisted, she went to speak to someone, and left me waiting for a long time. Then magically a higher floor room was assigned. The room wasn't cleaned properly and the bed was uncomfortable. I should have spent more money and stayed elsewhere

Outdated and old, dirty and stinky!! Please do not be fooled by photos, I left after first night!! This hotel is old and outdated with a smell in rooms. The floors are not clean even in Lonnie’s floors with full of stain. The staff can not help you at all. It is a big disappointment. The only positive is a free parking, that is all.

We were on the 2nd floor with a huge terrace and a beautiful view on the pools and the see. Nice hotel, generous breakfast buffet, nice location. The only problem is with the elevator that only takes max 2 persons with 1 or 2 small suitcases, otherwise, you have to take the stairs.

Our first room the air conditioning didn’t work. They upgraded us to a much nicer room where the air conditioning didn’t work there either. Property could use some maintenance. No beach towels on the beach side of the property you had to go to the other part of the hotel across the street. Just not that helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is old and could use some updating, but it was clean and well cared for. The staff was accommodating - they even brought us complimentary champagne after noticing during check in that it was my husbands birthday. The onsite parking is free and convenient if you have a car. The surrounding area is quiet, and only a short walk to downtown Albufeira. The extra money for the beach front room was well worth it. We had the best view from our balcony and enjoyed the sound of the ocean.

No soft drinks to buy onsite No water to buy onsite No coffee machine in rooms Terrible event in check out very early in the morning. All doors of the hotel are locked The security agent will scream at you when you try to open the door and you do not understand why is locked. He treat you as criminal trying to escape without paying. Although i explain that i want to bring the car next to hotel door before check out. By the way i already spoke a day before to receptionist and she told me that all is payed and i can leave at 5 am and just leave the keys on the reception desk. Terrible treatement from security agent. Otherwise the staff was nice. But they have to work on treating their clients with respect while preventing fraud.

Nice location on the beach but disappointed that the bar closed at 7 and had to go up to the sister hotel for that bar and there as well to get towels for the beach (didn’t make sense for the beach hotel not to handle the towels).

Staff friendly. Nice and convenient to the beach and to Albufeira old town. Unfortunately when we were checking in we were told that the main pool was closed for renovation. Although this didn't spoil our holiday completely, as we were close to the beach anyway, I felt it would have been nice to been told this before arriving. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because it has a pool so as you can imagine our disappointment to hear it was closed. We spent some time around the closed pool to sunbathe but this was not relaxing as there were workers drilling and making lots of noise so we were unable to relax. It would have been nice to know that the pool was closed before arriving, and there was no mention of any reimbursements. Some money off our stay or some drinks at the bar would have been nice.

Upon arrival I was told by the somewhat rude person at the front desk that the pool was closed for 10 days for maintenance. This is the start of the busy tourist season wouldn’t you think the new tile work could have been done within the previous 2 months? Place is clean but very tired including ripped carpeting and many tile cracks in the washroom. I asked for ice and was told to go to the bar where I ran into rude person #2 who preceded to give 4 cubes in a plastic cup and told me me that they don’t have anymore ice, WHAT? I did get another plastic glass with 4 more cubes. 4 of the 6 people that I came in contact with over my 2 night stay were extremely rude and curt. This was our only experience like this on our 2 week trip in beautiful Portugal. It appears in their pictures that this is an ocean front property but don’t be fooled because it is not. I am at odds as to why there are many exceptional and wonderful reviews because this place is a 2 star at best. I would never return and would not recommend this property to anyone else.

Got the ocean view room and it was amazing sleeping to the ocean waves. The room was clean, parking was plentiful and beds were comfortable. Wifi isnt as strong but the TV had a good selection. Good breakfast with lots of choices.

Rude reception staff on arrival. The property images and description is misleading on this and other booking sites. There are 2 hotels with the same name. They sell you ‘Luxury’ and then dump you in the other site that is dated and in need of a refurbishment! I was told on arrival that I’d have to pay €40 more per night to stay in the beachfront hotel. The reception staff admitted that they use the beach front hotel as their only address for both sites, and where my Uber dropped me off - I was then made to drag my new suitcase ‘up the hill’ and along the long driveway! I felt mislead at that point in time. I chose a city view room and my view was of a car park of another property and a bit of a dumping ground. The balcony was full of bird excrement and not cleaned in the 4 nights of my stay! The cheap Ikea furniture was badly damaged and falling apart, the bathroom shower was a drizzle and the tiles were damaged and polyfiled rather than replaced. The only requirement that the hotel had was air con, the rest was very disappointing. I chose the hotel on this site as it was the closest to the restaurants. As a solo traveller I wanted to make my trip as safe as possible, instead I was left to walk up a hill and a long driveway making me feel a little unsafe so I had to use Ubers which made my trip more expensive. All in all, a very disappointing stay and be aware that unless you chose a sea view room, you will be mislead and dumped in the basic hotel further up the road.

Beachfront property and beautiful seaview. Couldn't fault the hotel itself, however the staff and the service was poor. We also booked through Expedia and no information was given relating to which building we should go to to check in. Check in process was long and frustrating, when we eventually got the key we were given our room number, no indication of what floor etc and I asked if we can use the pool with the key card (we had noticed when at the wrong building the pool was key entry only) to which they said,i dont know, if it doesn't work come and let us know. Breakfast had a small selection of everything. The rooms were modern and clean. Hotel was great, fantastic location next to a lovely bar and restaurant. Don't be put off by the initial welcome.

It is a very good location, near old town Albufeira. Good value. The room was clean, though outdated. One minor complain, is that we wanted to take a short afternoon nap, but the cleaning ladies were at full swing at 3-5 pm, and very noisy with full conversations and cart noises, vacuum, etc.
