This location was very scenic. Breakfast was included and it was good. The accommodation/ room was ok. The bathroom was very small. The Lady who checked us in was not very knowledgeable about the tv/ stations etc. Also, we had a terrible time locking and opening our door. It seemed to need repairs. I did tell the front desk receptionist before we left.

Best hotel experience in Iceland so far. Been there 3 times, stayed in Reykjavik the first two times but from now on i will stay here when i visit.
Great rooms, good breakfast, Excellent restaurent, Excellent view and surrounding nature. The best thing though is to be able to hop in a hot outdoors jacuzzi whenever you want. This place is extremely relaxing!
The town nearby has a supermarket, bakery a few restaurents and a food market so you have everything close by.

Accommodations were tight for 3 people. The main bed was comfortable but the pullout less so. Small bathroom. Delicious breakfast. We were mesmerized by the steam rising from the earth all around the hotel. Very picturesque. The river behind the hotel and the walking paths nearby provided easy access to a nice park and dining options. The hot springs where you can swim are an hour away.

one of our favorite hotels anywhere. Hot springs, fantastic views of natural landscape uncluttered by junk.

This place is beautiful. The staff is amazing. The room is romantic and very clean. The breakfast was also amazing. Very unique location next to springs.

We enjoyed our stay although our room was hot at night and when there is a large party in the dining room, one cannot have a conversation with a dinner partner. The food was very good.

This was my 4th stay at this property. One of my favorite hotels. We had two rooms in the newer building with balconies overlooking the river. Rooms were on the larger size with a decent sized bathroom. Comfortable beds. The highlight is the hot pots and hot pool, perfect for unwinding. The restaurant dinner is gourmet, and breakfast is wonderful with bacon and eggs, smoked salmon, and Icelandic fare and waffles. I could go back every year!

Incredible location. Stunning scenery.

This is our favorite hotel. We stayed twice in six months. Get a room overlooking the river to see the northern lights from your bed. They also had the best breakfast. We will stay there again next year when we go back to Iceland again.

Property is very out of date. Room, not very clean, treacherous to get to with snow not cleared from walkways properly. Pool and hot tubs looked dirty and not well maintained. This place needs some serious work. Not impressed.

Beautiful property on the river. We really enjoyed the hot springs tubs.

We had high hopes for this hotel. The pictures made it seem so well maintained and polished but the spa amenities left us feeling underwhelmed. The sauna and hot tubs didn’t seem to be cleaned, there were bugs and leaves in the water. The sauna didn’t get as warm as most do and there were no towels on the towel rack and it didn’t look like it was cleaned from the day prior. The property in general didn’t seem to be maintained well. The rooms however were very clean and well maintained. Overall, it was an average stay for an above average price.

We had a great time. The hot tub was fantastic. We loved the breakfast. The highlight of our trip was sitting in the hot tub watching the northern lights. It was a perfect way to end our Iceland trip.

Truly incredible place on the river, spending an evening out in the spring fed hot tubs getting too warm whilst a blizzard was brewing up was certainly memorable! Would love to come back one day

Location in a thermally active area was incredible. It was also a short drive from a thermal park and many beautiful waterfalls. The rooms were clean and roomy with a lovely view of the river. Staff was very friendly. We highly recommend the onsite restaurant - the food was spectacular and served in a conservatory with a lovely view of the surrounding hillsides and river. Parking was convenient. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed here on a self drive Iceland tour. Nice room, right next to the river with views of the steam vents. At at the restaurant and the food was lovely and couldn’t fault what we had.

Loved the traditional look and feel of the hotel and staff were very friendly. We ate a lovely meak there one night and food was great. Hot tubs were lovely overlooking the river and sauna which was well stocked with towels etc stayed open until midnight. View from our room was fantastic. Only thing not so good was the very strong onion/sulfur smell in corridor outside room and very small bathroom, otherwise we had a lovely relaxing stay.

The surrounding area is beautiful. There is a river with small waterfalls and several geothermal hot springs.
The breakfast was basic. Fresh scrambled eggs and decent coffee is all I really need. They did have both.
This hotel could really be a gem, but the layout is lacking in storage space. I say this based on dozens of places we have stayed that have been half the size, but made incredible use of every little crevice.
There’s very little space to place items in the bathroom. A plus was that there is a separate little foyer when you walk in with its own door to it and the bathroom. So when you hang all of your clothes, or wet shoes in that area, you can close the door so that it’s out of view.
I booked this hotel because breakfast was included and a view with outdoor space is high on my “must have” list. Natural light and fresh air play a huge role in my choices for peace of mind.
I'm not sure if towels are expensive or if there is a shortage, but when my partner asked for 4 more towels for the next day, she handed 3 dirty ones to the housekeeper. I was in the shower, so the floor mat was in there with me. The housekeeper insisted on having all 4 (in that moment) in order to get four. So we had to wait until I dried off just to get a fresh towel. This felt very awkward, but we just went with it.

The perfect place to relax for a few days after exploring Iceland. The hot tubs in the snow were a real highlight for us! Loved it!

Beautiful rooms and lovely hot tubs etc. The room had poor ventilation and smelt awful the next day after having had a shower the night before.
Would recommend for one night.

Major disappointment. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. Iceland is an expensive country but nothing merits this huuuge cost for this 3-star hotel when we had stayed at a very luxurious hotel in Reykavik just 45 minutes drive away for less.
The hotel seemed too worn, the area around it wasn’t at all what I was expecting. Seemed more like a construction place. The windows were full of spider webs, the chairs outside likewise. The cleaniness of the bathrooms subpar. The room was spacious but there were barely any hangers or drawers. The breakfast was the bare minimum.
All of this had been alright if the rooms weren’t as expensive. We couldn’t believe that we had been staying at such a luxurious suite in Reykavik with an amazing breakfast for less than this. The extra 44 min drive is totally worth it.

We loved the hot tubs and our family room. Very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent!

This is a unique property in that it is fully interactive with the geothermal environment. Most notably, the restaurant is almost exclusively served by geothermal cooking facilities and the chef, whom we met at both dinner and breakfast is so skilled at preparation, presentation and variety. The rooms are fairly modest and still comfortable with nice views of the geothermal fields. The bathrooms are a bit cramped but their use of shower stalls with collapsable walls was pretty ingenious.

What a beautiful and unique hotel! We stayed only one night but it was very memorable, as the sauna and outdoor thermal pools were fabulous! The room, breakfast, and customer service were excellent as well :)

This was my favorite place to stay on our trip. The hotel was perfect for convenience to shopping, restaurants, etc. The view from the hotel was amazing! It was also within a short driving distance from many of the features in Iceland that we were there to see. The hotel staff were also very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again!

This location exceeded our expectations -the views from the river properties were amazing, and there were walking trails right outside the hotel leading us to beautiful hills covered in flowers and geothermal hot springs. Great breakfast overlooking the river. A very special place!

It was the most intimate and cutest lodging of all we had in Iceland. The restaurant was amazing! We had the 6 or 7 course dinner and it is the most memorable and delicious dinner in Iceland! Highly recommend it.

This hotel is a gem with huge potential with its location and proximity to other activities. The downside is that it is looking a bit rundown around the property and the room we stayed in was difficult to maneuver around due to limited space. The bedding was top-notch and the staff was amazing.

Tucked in the back of a beautiful country village, this boutique hotel blends into the surrounding hills and geothermal fields. Very clean, excellent restaurant on premises for dinner and breakfast. Nespresso coffee in room is a nice touch to start your morning. Adjacent to walking trails.

What a location! Steam vents all around. Hot tubs/pools to bathe in. Great scenery and good food. And just far enough away from Rejkjavik.

The surrounding area was exceptional. Within walking distance there was plenty to see. Hot tubs and the view combined made it feel very unique. This little town is not for those who want city nightlife, but for those who like to spend time outdoors
