Old hotel, decent, but nothing fancy. Could be more serviceminded. The reception area is infested with mosquitoes. Probably won’t come back.

Surprisingly good, ample room and bathroom. Cleaning staff was attentive and courteous, specially Cristina, she surpassed in being nice and polite

Wonderful stay! The room was large with a separate desk area, the bathroom and shower were also very large. Internet was great, friendly staff too. Much better than other nearby hotels!

Nothing special about this hotel. I suspect it was lovely when it first opened but has since become a bit outdated and grubby looking. The rooms were large and well laid out but walls were dirty and there was a lack of attention to detail in the cleaning. The sheets and pillows had stains and looked old. Mosquitos were frequently in the room at night and my friends room had a musty door to it. The shower was fantastic! Lots of water pressure and endless hot water.

The WIFI never worked.

Nice place for the price...location ok., but not great.... short walk 6-7 blocks from most of what you need

Hotel is clean and staff friendly. Breakfast is ok but have had better in other girls. Some decor feels a bit dated. The airport shuttle is just a taxi which is not the most reliable in Brazil so I used Uber. The part of town the hotel is in is not the nicest. Has Gloria metro station a 2min walk out of the hotel.

Size of room, bed and cleanliness were OK. There is no good place to work and the free internet is worthless. Right next to a homeless jungle. Dangerous day and night especially if you look at all prosperous or not young and fit.

This 83 room hotel was quite pleasant and close to the Rio cruise terminal, a major factor in our choice. The front desk staff were VERY good. Such excellent advice and help we received. Their english was quite good. On the other hand, the hotel's restaurant (guests only, I believe) had no English speakers at all, and order from the menu often required the servers to call one of the front desk gentlemen to come up to the restaurant to "translate". The service was slow, but oh so good! And the free breakfast buffet was very good and with quite a nice variety. Last bit of bad news: While this comment might apply to almost any hotel in Rio, the fact is this general area is not safe for tourists. Repeatedly the front desk personnel warned us against wearing jewelry, showing cameras, etc. Just try not to look like a gringo. The fact is one hotel patron was robbed during the daytime on the day we arrived. If you're with a tour group, you shouldn't have any trouble. BUT, be aware of your surroundings.

Good hotel for people going on biz.

We booked this Hotel as we were with the Clipper Yacht Race and it was very close to the Marina. Helpful staff, Marco was wonderfully helpful. Best showers ever! Interesting area and need to keep your wits about you as a few got mugged and had things stolen. Lots of poor and homeless people in the area so they are understandably desperate for food and money. Lively and colourful nightlife outside the hotel! Cheap and cheerful with lots of local bars and restaurants nearby.

Fabulous. Rio is Rio. Yep poverty etc but the people are so friendly. Stay smart and you will stay safe. Hotel staff are just fantastic.

Excellent reception that's headed up by Fabio and great value forone in a fairly safe part of Rio
Yes the rooms would hopefully be bigger in a $100 more expensive hotel but it's certainly worth booking as a starter place as local to the metro. Better value bars and restaurants and the beach
