The best Anniversary celebration ever, we got upgraded to 5th floor king room, brand new, so thankful the fireplace worked, the crib for the baby was arranged. Toney on front desk was amazing.
Will definitely be going again soooon. From the cleaning staff to the technician front desk and restaurant, so professional staff.
Pool was amazing. Warm and Nice . Nature amazinggggg

A real gem in the Muskoka region.

Stay was good. Clean facilities , though it can improve. However, the TV was a big disappointment. Almost all resorts have smart tv nowadays. I was surprised to see this one wasn't, even after claiming to be a 3-star. So no Netflix, Youtube or Prime. On top of that, half of the channels were not subscribed, probably it had just the basic package. Breakfast buffet had a very limited menu.

The staff needs significant training on caring for their guest. Front desk staff were not friendly and did not resolve the issue I had in my room. There was no TV channel box in the room hence, no TV for us during the stay. As we bookd through Hotels.com, they told me to to inform hotels.com to get any compensation!! Another guest who is going to occupy that room is going to face the same issue.

The room was newly renovated and clean. We were a party of 5 with four adults and 1 child. We had 5 carry-ons, a cooler and a picnic basket. It was a tight fit. We had a suite with 2 queen beds and pull-out sofa. I would recommend the hotel add 2 chairs. As a family of 5 we could not all watch tv together - only 3 people fit on the couch, 2 sat on the floor.
The property was beautiful on a quiet lake. We took the canoes + paddles (complimentary) out around the lake. Life jackets were also provided.
Breakfast was complimentary but was not a buffet. Ordered from a menu and were served by friendly staff. Breakfast with a beautiful view of the beach and lake.
Shout out to Nick at the front desk - welcoming and friendly

The server in the breakfast area seemed to have missing a smile to greet people who are on vacation and come for breakfast the first thing in the morning. Being in hospitality business, I guess there is scope for improvement there. Everything else in the resort was just awesome

Our stay here was ok but would probably not stay here again. Staff had a "don't really care attitude" Although it is the fall the atmosphere here is far from welcoming or fun, although resort amenities are decent. The Room, been renovated and is lovely. However, fireplace broken, window would not open, electrical is erratic and it was not clean! Included breakfast was great, although dinner expensive for pub food but very good. Weekday service in dining room was again very non caring.

Excellent Resort Great for the Kids. Excellent restaurant.

The location is 10/10, the free watercraft was an added bonus & the breakfast buffet was a great start to each day. The beds were very comfortable but the bathroom was a little smelly and tired. The hairdryer attached to the wall needs to be removed as it is a hazard

Loved the peaceful relaxing place

Enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Tappattoo. Standard rooms were of a good size and the waterfront amenities and indoor pool were fun and the main reason we booked here. Staff were a mixed bunch, some very friendly and helpful, others quite rude. Would recommend if you are looking for a decent no-thrills stay with good breakfast.

It was nice. Staff was friendly but rooms were bit old

We liked the beach. The fire pit at night was a nice extra.
We did find that between rooms noise was a little disturbing in the early hours

To be honest i read the revuews befire going so only booked one night minute me and my kids got onto property they were upset i didnt book 2 nights. To my surprise we had a cottage it was great. Yes ok somethings people post are true cottage arent new turn key for house to live in . People have to understand these r cottages in tbe middle of the woods.. yes water took sometime the first shower to drain after that is was fine.. mine u i think they r well water so could be reason as well. The beds were a little hard for my comfort but both my kids said bed was great for them. Breakfast is standard scrambled eggs toast bacon potatoes sausage. The indoor pool yes little outdated but again jts a cottage resort .. if your looking for the ritz this isnt for you. We had a great time n looking to book first week of july next yr for 3 nughts

Wasnt enough staff to handle dinner service so had to go off site
Found guests got up at crack of dawn to reserve chairs at beach making it difficult for everyone to find a spot. Many of those “reserved” spots were for children who were out on the water
Fishing was allowed at the swimming beach and your children fishing without supervision
Perhaps monitoring of facilities would be helpful

We really enjoyed our stay. The kids (9 and 5) had a blast swimming and playing on the big water trampoline. Life jackets were provided. There were also paddle boats, kayaks and canoes to enjoy as well. The beach was clean and a nice sandy walk-in to the water - no stones. Our room was a standard double Queen - very roomy and clean. All the rooms have a balcony and face out to look over the water.
The restaurant was very nice with good food.
I would say the only problem may be that it seems they are very understaffed as you had to reserve a time to go eat as if you didn’t they would not be able to take you as they could only accommodate a certain amount at a time. However, the staff that do work there are all very friendly, extremely hard working and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable.
We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing location. Quiet and peaceful. Rooms need a facelift. Wifi needs to be available and reliable.

The property is beautiful, northern paradise, but some aspects of my room could use improvement. Shower curtain fell down, lighting, fan, tub jets and tv all had strange controls that seemed to operate on their own schedule. The room had no phone or ice bucket. If you needed the front desk you had to use your own phone. AC did not work well. Building exit doors were near my room and very loud. The view was spectacular! The room size was great. Food at restaurant was great!!!!!!!! Staff were all friendly. Restaurant staff phenomenal!!!

We had a very nice 3 days at the Grand Tappatoo. Lovely location with a beach and lots of watercraft to borrow. The beds were comfortable and nice linens and towels. But the building we were in was a bit tired with outer door that banged everytime someone came in at night, old carpet, noisy airconditioner and broken balcony furniture.
We enjoyed breakfast and the servers were all great. Dinner was good but a wait of over an hour from ordering to serving was unacceptable and the manager's comment when I mentioned this the next day that it was not" a fast food restaurant " was ridiculous.

After seeing positive reviews, I booked the resort hotel weeks in advance for a surprise 10th anniversary celebration. Upon arrival we enjoyed a glass of wine on the porch before a knock on the door and an unannounced entry by hotel reception quickly changed our mood only an hour into our stay. Reception's error in the room assignment quickly became our problem and spoiled our celebration to the point we were made to feel like unwanted guests, ruining the remainder of our stay!
In fairness we were offered a small compensation for dinner and an apology after seeking out the hotel manager the next day but in hindsight it was way too little, too late!
My hope is that hotel management learns from our poor experience and improves the customer service level as the hotel itself has a lot to like.

Would be 5 stars but one night of our pricey two-night splurge was marred by smoke alarms going off repeatedly throughout the early morning hours. The resort refused to refund any part of our stay.

If I could rate this property 10 stars on everything this review would be accurate. This hotel exceeded all expectations. The room was immaculate and extremely modern. The restaurant was beautiful, and our food was outstanding. We have been traveling for 2 weeks through Canada and Northeastern USA and the food and atmosphere reminded me of a high end restaurant from a large city. The beach had kayaks, paddle boards, paddle boats and fishing gear available to use for free. My kids enjoyed the water trampoline and the game room. We wish our stay was longer, and we will definitely be back.

The Grand Tappattoo Resort is a fabulous place. This is our second year. There was a small issue with the restaurant being understaffed, and it was a bit of a wait but the staff was very good to do their best. We were on no timeline.
Everyone is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We saw the Otter again this year 🙂 Thank you, Tappattoo !

Very good location. Beach front, next to Parry Sound. Courteous and helpful staff. The hallway carpets need to be refreshed.

We really loved the beach and all the outdoor things they have to do. We found the room was dirty, around the pool area and the rooms were older. The breakfast wasn’t very good….
