Very nice lodge, restaurants expensive, check in is confusing to find

The view of the canyon was amazing. The room is centrally located and close to food and trails. Parking is not easy but it is expected at a popular national park.

Great hotel for longer stays. Not really a one night hotel. That being said the accommodations were nice. The only downside was you needed to drive to the registration office and restaurants. Also no handicap parking

Overlooks the canyon. Walkable. Rooms are dated but updated, clean. Excellent staff.
10.0 / 10.0
Amazing views and great location. Was gutted when they closed the park so we couldn’t stay for both our nights. The view alone is worth it but also you don’t have to queue to get in the park as you are already there.

After lunching at El Tovar we marched down to Kachina. There's no way in without a room key. We circled around until asking someone leaving that told us there is no desk, check in is at El Tovar and they did the same thing. Frustration quelled by being in one of the world's most beautiful natural wonder.

Being on the edge of the GRAND CANYON is soo cool!!!

Great location to the Grand Canyon. We loved that we could walk outside and be right on the rim. Wish the hotel had sliders to a patio but otherwise it was fine

place has going for it is its location. It’s very old and shows its age.

Cannot have a better location for the South Rim. 30 feet out the door and you are there. Just breath-taking!

This was a great find. Perfect location without the added expense. It is bare bones but met all our needs. Parking is tough though. But walking was just fine.

The person at the desk at El Tovar was amazing. Very helpful and gave us so many options for food as we were so hungry.

Price at one of the world’s most amazing attractions was understandably high, but we did expect a better experience. Our door was jammed, and would not unlock. The reception /check in was in a different building (El Tovar) next door, & after two visits to the front desk later, a maintenance person arrived to get us into the room. The building needs refurbishing- it’s getting run down & shabby. Parking is a nightmare & we were warned not to move our car if we found a spot! That said - the location is amazing.

Not worth for the money. Too costly for nothing

Being right on the edge of the Grand Canyon is a definite plus. Except for the finicky key card / door locks, we enjoyed everything about our room. Well designed and comfortable.

Clean and efficient but not luxury. Check in was confusing.parking limited. But world class location on the Rim.

Location on the rim of the canyon cant be beat. Room is very clean and good sized for family. Would highly recommend.

The property is Motel 6 level. TV reception was spotty. Being inside Grand Canyon was cool but the company that operates all the hotels knows they have a captive audience. Restaurant choices are minimal. The food and drink are minimalistic and pricey. Next time I’ll stay outside the park.

Hotel room was excellent, clean, quiet and comfortable. Walkable to other hotels but other hotels had front desk, bar/lounge, and restaurany. This one did not but you could walk to others. Would be nice if there was a front desk or small bar to gather. Perhaps that is why it was so quiet which is great.

The room does not have a microwave. I wish the room did. Great view of the Grand Canyon.

The room we were in had an outstanding view of the Grand Canyon. You need to book it as a canyon view room to get this.
Very convenient to the rim trail and other lodges and dining in the village. The room had very comfortable beds and was set up nicely.
The only big negative we had about this property was no desk at the facility, you check in at the El Tovar lodge next door which wasn’t a big problem but the key cards were not working well and we had to go back to El Tovar to keep getting them reprogrammed. At the end of the long days it was very inconvenient.

We had a nice stay. In the off season price for the room is almost half and there were no crowds.

Our night at the Kachina Lodge was nice. The Lodge is old and could use updating but our room was comfortable enough. You have to check in at hotel next door which isn't the most convenient with parking and luggage. We were there in January when it was on the the quiet side so I think during season getting a parking stop by Lodge could be a problem. But location was great.

Beautiful area!

After reading all the bad reviews I was nervous about staying here. Luckily my worries were for nothing. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. I stayed on the second floor with an unobstructed view of the canyon. The view was spectacular and one of the main reasons I booked this. No issues checking in (because I read the instructions) . My only complaint was the microwave or rather lack of. Even 1 in the common room would be helpful. Since I was there in January and it was freezing the park was empty so no issues parking but I could see it being an issue during busy times.

Property was very nice! We had a perfect view right out our window. Only thing is we had a Do NOT DISTURB sign on the door, however at 9:30 housekeeping banged on the door! Other than that it was perfect!

A few things wrong in the room but the location made up for it
5.0 / 10.0
Partial view of the canyon was beautiful! Some rooms have views partially blocked by a tree. Sidewalk outside the window is used during all daylight hours. Cheaper here than through the park vendor website!
